Me too. That commercial speaks the truth.krypt0nian said:I guess I'll never understand this. They are made for my sensibilities, I swear.![]()
Really? I wouldn't be using an iPad 2 if it weren't thinner and lighter than the rest (and the iPad 2 has, you know, actually shipped already). iOS is nothing to boast about imo.Tobor said:Me too. That commercial speaks the truth.

iOS has lots of features, it has lots of apps. *shrug* So does Windows.foomfoom415 said:I haven't seen the commercial but I disagree with this. iOS has made huge strides over the past couple of major updates and is a huge reason why these devices are as successful as they are.
That's not to say there aren't a lot of areas for improvement, but iOS is eminently boast-worthy.

Sure it is. But WebOS looks to be my new favorite. We'll see once I can actually use it.Charred Greyface said:iOS is nothing to boast about imo.

But you didn't get the iPad2 because there was something special in the software, or because it could do HD screen mirroring? I thought the smart cover and the "speeds and feeds" was the main draw for everybody here who upgraded.Tobor said:And you know we disagree on that. I'm surprised you're surprised.

Increased speed and better design combined with Apple's OS and software, and the app ecosystem. The whole package. Make a faster, lighter device without that secret sauce, and I'm not interested.Charred Greyface said:But you didn't get the iPad2 because there was something special in the software, or because it could do HD screen mirroring? Or use a second Mac and extra drive/partition.LCfiner said:the most reliable way to do it is with a Time Capsule device.
the time machine backup on the wireless drive needs to be a sparsebundle image that gets mounted and unmounted during backups (as is done on the timecapsule). just plugging in a USB drive into a router may not work or be unreliable.
never had this problemNeuromancer said:Did anyone have any problems getting Gmail to work when they got their iPad 2? It's saying my user name or password is not correct and I don't know why.
I do have Google Authenticator activated, not sure if that's the problem.
Since you have Google Authenticator enabled, you might need to create an application-specific password.Neuromancer said:Did anyone have any problems getting Gmail to work when they got their iPad 2? It's saying my user name or password is not correct and I don't know why.

Do those styluses (stylii?) actually work any better than using a finger? I've heard mixed reports.Technosteve said:Can you guys make a mega list of accessories i can get for the ipad 2? Posted this a page or so ago to a similar query:FerranMG said:And I'm looking for a dock that either has speakers, or can project the sound different (I've found myself many times with my hand behind the iPad's speaker to make it sound better).

It won't let me add the ebook directly to it. I can easily add it to ibooks(with the proper format) but I'm having a tough time figuring out how to add a non-kindle purchased ebook to the kindle app after conversion. I'm sure I'm overlooking it, but I just can't figure it out.Maklershed said:I'm guessing the Kindle app from the app store itself doesn't work for what you're doing?
My apologies if I'm not understanding your question properly.
