That's not to say there aren't a lot of areas for improvement, but iOS is eminently boast-worthy.

I'm a little conflicted when it comes to the app drawer argument. Yeah Android has widgets but after a while all those homescreens are ridiculous - I can flick 5 times to the right to see a weather widget or, you know, I can open the actual weather app on the first or second iOS homescreen and get more data faster.
I would like some widget functionality in iOS (possibly swiping to the left reveals a page of widgets that fades away when you begin typing to search) because there's no denying an agenda view/couple emails/reminders/random data at a glance is useful. In the end I'd much rather have the polish, intuitive UI, features and little bells and whistles iOS offers over the competitors. Once everything finally came together from folders and multitasking to Verizon I knew I'd end up coming back without regrets.

OK so how do I start following blogs and stuff? I've never used RSS or anything like that, but now that I've got an iPad i figure there must be some intuitive way to check out cool blogs regularly.

I really do love iOS. I appreciate the vision behind what Apple are trying to do with it, if not how it actually works in practise at the moment.
I like not having to worry about file systems and the like when I'm using my portable device. I like just having to close my cover and place the thing in my book bag when I'm finished at a lecture without having to save or close a program or do anything like that.
What I don't like is that some core functionality still relies on a hub computer. As iOS gets more sophisticated (if not complex, because that's certainly not what I'm after), I'd really like to see Apple do away with the hub-spoke iPod/iPhone/iPad->iTunes Sync model and rely entirely on Dropbox like cloud saving/sync equivalents.
They're always talking about their post-PC world, and I'm on board with it in theory, and watching each gradual update to the iOS move it closer to the Apple wet-dream is all well and good, but yeah, I'm impatient, I guess. I don't want to have to rely on my PC/Macbook iTunes anymore. The iPad 2 and iPhone 4 are so close to being the wacky 'future' devices I need, it's really exciting.

I would love it if iOS 5 would let an iOS device work out of the box without first hooking up to iTunes.
I still think that link to itunes to allow for backups and easy media transfer is important, but that first start experience could be handled better without requiring that initial tethering to an old computer.

the time machine backup on the wireless drive needs to be a sparsebundle image that gets mounted and unmounted during backups (as is done on the timecapsule). just plugging in a USB drive into a router may not work or be unreliable.

Can you guys make a mega list of accessories i can get for the ipad 2? Looking for case to go with smart cover, a stylus for doodling and a cheap dock so i can put the ipad in portrait by my bed.

Did anyone have any problems getting Gmail to work when they got their iPad 2? It's saying my user name or password is not correct and I don't know why.
I do have Google Authenticator activated, not sure if that's the problem.

I've done a bit of research regarding cases and docks, but there are so many options that it's very difficult to make up my mind.
Right now, one solution I'm considering is a Kensington neoprene pouch/sleeve to carry the iPad around, and to put between the iPad and the table when leaving it there for the night, for example. Then maybe a smartcover to help clean the screen and to give the iPad a bit of inclination (I've found myself many times with a pillow under the iPad).
And I'm looking for a dock that either has speakers, or can project the sound different (I've found myself many times with my hand behind the iPad's speaker to make it sound better).

It won't let me add the ebook directly to it. I can easily add it to ibooks(with the proper format) but I'm having a tough time figuring out how to add a non-kindle purchased ebook to the kindle app after conversion. I'm sure I'm overlooking it, but I just can't figure it out.Maklershed said:
