cool, i saw that one.

I can't decide between one like that (probably the ipad grove case) or getting something like this http://www.xgearlive.com/products/new-products/smart-cover-enhancer-snap-case-for-apple-ipad-2-pre-order-est-ship-date-week-a
with a miniot wood smart cover.

Doing a quick resume draft using a resume template in Pages while sitting on the campus lawns followed by sending it to my printer and then coming home from a day of uni with a set of printed resumes waiting for me was a real "oh yes I did" moment.

Cool stuff. Was that via AirPrint or do you have one of those email enabled HP printers?

If via AirPrint, does that work over the internet natively?

It was a HP email setup. I'm having some weird troubles with AirPrint and my HP Photosmart, but I think it's related to my shitty router. In any case, for AirPrint to work you need to be on the same wireless network. :)

What's the best way to convert video without introducing dithering in the output file? I used DVD Shrink to transfer my DVD over, then Handbrake to convert using a few different settings, all with similar quality results.

Finally got mine today (Ordered online when it first came up on the store, in Aus). Got it delivered to work, have to sit here and look at it all day until I finish D:

so whats everyone using for a case? I still have yet to pick one out.
Incipio NGP + maybe a screen protector. Anyone using a screen film for scratch protection? Not sure if I need one.

I skipped the Smart Cover. It doesn't really protect anything and gets in the way during use.

I have had my OG iPad for about 3 weeks now and I have zero regrets for not shelling out extra for a 2. One of those reasons is probably because I would still be trying to get a 2. My parents were pissed when I told them I got one and they called it a waist of money and completely unnecessary until I took it home last weekend and they wanted me to leave it with them!

I showed them my Flipboard and blew them away and then they played angry birds for an hour, and then my mom browsed on amazon and zappos, and then... I think you get the picture.

As long as I have a laptop with my job I don't see the need to have a personal laptop anymore. Desktop + iPad is a fantastic combo.

I bought a Griffin Élan Passport from amazon to use as my case.

SC protects the screen.

Any iPad djs lurking? Just got Touch OSC, looking to map with Traktor 2 or later and ableton live.

Cant wait to be able to walk across the club with my iPad and get a drink while still breakintg It down.

Using smart cover plus a general computing belkin thing. Bought a leather cover but just received an email that read it would be a week for ship. Might just be happy with what I got. Potenzo be sexy though. Any awesome games I need? Got swocery.

Penultimate, harbor master, gilt, comic flow, kindle (syncs withmy actual kindle), flipboard, evernote, my Gf enjoys haunted manor...

Mayne.. Need touch osc working correct.

I'm so torn between the Retro case and the Notebook black/purple interior. Ugh.

Actually, never mind. Just gonna get a sleeve since I forgot I got a Dwight Schrute skin for the back.

Why do people buy those huge, bulky cases? Ugh.

I would gladly take a recommendation for a slim case that allows me to do the landscape tilting, so you can write on it, and the case not being a smart-cover.

Just came time for my first charge.. And it doesn't work. Awesome.

Lucky I haven't sold my old iPad until next week, so I still have that.

for traveling, bro
I travel a ton and never would I want that case you posted. It's so bulky. When I travel, I want something slim, not huge. My OG iPad in the official iPad case works great for traveling.

i like things that look like books

I like things that look like Moleskine notebooks. I have my Portenzo as well and I love it. It should obfuscate the fact that it's an iPad pretty well. I use the iPad naked around the house.

Did you guys with the Portenzo cases get a stylus holder with it? If so, where is that located? Also, how heavy is the case? Thinking of getting one to use while I'm at work.

The case is 9 oz. The stylus holder would be on the left. The left side of the frame is wider and has a cutout for holding the stylus. They used to have pictures on the site but now I can't find any.

So my iPad 2 just had its first fall. I was at Taco Bell and it slid off the table, fell about 3 feet and landed on a tile floor. All I had on it was a Smart-Cover and that fell right off on impact. Now there's a small dent on the top corners of my new toy. Otherwise the thing seems to work fine.

Now I'm seriously thinking of some sort of rear protection. Maybe a shell case or jelly sleeve? I don't know but I need something that will stay on and not be in the way while I'm using the device.

Rejoice! Finally got my white 64GB 3G along with a black smartcover and Kensington sleeve. I'm not sure what some people are talking about but the speed increase was pretty noticeable for me. And holy shit is this thing sexy.

I want to pick up a White 16GB Wifi in the next two weeks but I'd like to have the Apple engraving done. Seems the Apple.com orders are still 3-4 weeks out. Am I out of luck?

I've heard they ship faster than the quoted date. Might want to give it a try.

For some reason I assume that if an iPad hits tile/pavement/other hard surfaces it'll shatter immediately (even if it lands on the aluminum side) simply since the sheet of glass is so large and now thinner in iPad 2. I'm glad to see that real world tests have shown otherwise.

Looks like you're out of luck if you really have your mind set on the engraving. On the plus side, you stand to make more money on the resale market if you don't get it engraved.

I'll probably just forgo the engraving.

Apologizes if this is been discussed but are there any magnetically attaching cases (Smart Cover esqe) from 3rd parties?

Somebody ran tests on the glass and found the iPad 2 glass was actually stronger, even though it's thinner. Can't remember where I saw it.

Is anyone aware of an ipad 2 case that is similar to the official apple ipad 1 case? That's still the best case to em. I'll never understand why people put their ipads in those thick cases!

Stronger as in it won't break (and scratch?) as easily, because it is thinner, and more flexible. Right?

Won't shatter but the aluminum will be deformed and scuffed for sure.

I've been waiting like 6 months for this app to have even 1 sale :(
If it can match BPM as easily as it claims it's probably really sweet. There are a couple cheap/free DJ apps that don't BPM match and they are mostly useless.
I haven't tried it on the new one (because of the price) but on the OG iPad, my friend kept getting out of memory errors when trying to load songs from his iTunes library. So there wasn't any beat-matching, just lame scratching.

I'm using a similar combo- smart cover & belkin sleeve

Thanks man. I'm looking into a new theme and I'm currently testing & customizing it. Hopefully it'll be ready in a few days or so.

If you have any idea how to install iscroll (http://cubiq.org/iscroll-4), that'd be awesome. I don't really understand the documentation because I haven't been into scripting in a long time.
Looks easier than pie really. Though will tumblr let you host custom JS? If it at least lets you edit the actual code for the template it would still be possible. I don't know anything about making a tumblr theme. When I created my blog, I went with BlogSpot at the time mainly for the Google account integration.

According to the tumblr "reasons you'll love" page you can make your own theme if you want. So that's good.
http://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/custom_themes

I'd download the iScroll sample and use the iPad example as it has the same layout you already have. But it'll be a bit more involved than that.
