not with iMovie that's for sure. iMovie only accepts video files from its camera app or from an iPhone 'uploaded' via the dock connector.elrechazao said:How is video editing on the ipad? Can you upload media from other devices like say, a flip camera and do editing of that on the ipad?
Using one of the iOS5 Betas? My phone and pad did this as I hadn't yet upgraded from Beta 4Buckethead said:My iPad randomly went to activate mode.
Weird.
The tip is on a swivel around the ball point, tilts around fine. And the newer Dagis have some funky spring mechanism to tilt which gets around their old static design.Pachterballs said:if that's anything like a dagi; you need to hold it funny to write. I hated mine.

You are on an old beta that is out of date, you have to upgrade.Buckethead said:My iPad randomly went to activate mode.

I don't think so...japtor said:Does the Flip work with the camera connection kit?

Ok, but CZ is seamless and smooth after that conversion, and according to the review just posted, Comic Glass is not. Is that accurate? If so, I'd rather have the conversion up front.LCfiner said:that initial conversion that comiczeal does upon first loading files is not required for comicflow, comicglass and bookman/ bookman pro.
basically, comiczeal is the odd man out, requiring this extra processing time. it's not the end of the world but it's not necessary either and, for 8 bucks in iOS land, we should expect something more seamless.
Tobor said:Ok, but CZ is seamless and smooth after that conversion, and according to the review just posted, Comic Glass is not. Is that accurate? If so, I'd rather have the conversion up front.
Tobor said:Comic zeal sync hasn't been required in a long time. You just load the issues, and comic zeal does the work in app the first time. After that, butter smooth.
LCfiner said:I know that comicflow and bookman are super smooth with no conversion. if comicglass is not, then it's an issue with comicglass and not a requirement for conversion.
I would recommend the person using comicglass to try those other two apps first.
Aske said:According to the review, CZ is pretty smooth with no conversion too. I think there are two choke points when it comes to load times: the app, and the iPad itself. Assuming the apps are all equally fast, very large images will still always cause the iPad to pause in order to load them. As Tobor says, if that happens in CZ, it will only ever happen once, because the image is processed as it loads. But on top of that, if you pre-convert every image before loading it into the app via CZ Sync, you'll never see a loading screen. Ever. So as good as the other apps are at processing images, if I was to load an extremely large, high quality file into any of them, the iPad will still cause them to stall for a few seconds. CZ Sync is my guarantee that this will never happen, and every issue will be a seamless experience.
LCfiner said:but if you don't use CZ with the sync app then, as soon as you load up new files into the ipad directly, CZ will process each one before you can interact with the app. I don't know if it's shrinking them or just working on something else... but it's doing something and the time i takes is not rivial if you're putting more than a couple files on there at once.
so there's no getting around this extra waiting time with CZ.
LCfiner said:with the other apps, you just load up and go. I never used Comicglass for more than one "test" comic but the other two apps had zero problems with large files and I encountered no loading between pages.
basically, I find the only reason to keep recommending comic zeal is for the organization abilities with the pop over menus. or for the "magic background" color option if that's your thing.
but you can get sub folder organization in some of the other apps, as well, and you don't need to deal with a) the CZ conversion process, either on the PC or on the ipad and b) the insane itunes backup times caused by CZ's monolithic comic database that it builds when it processes new files.
LCfiner said:CZ is no longer the easiest or most elegant way to read comics on the iPad. The developer really needs to update the app to bring it up to par with the competition in regards to those two issues.
And while we can tolerate these issues, I see no reason to assume they are required or that CZ has the best UX out there
Anastacio said:What new features will Comic Zeal 5 have?
Strictly on my LAN. It will find the server at first and sometimes even start playing for a while, but then eventually the stream will stop. Once that happens neither Air Video nor VLC will be able to find my PC again. Sometimes restarting the PC side program will let the client on the iPad see the PC again, sometimes not. Regardless once it stops working the first time it's rare that it will play again without restarting the server or even rebooting the PC, and if it does it usually stops playing after few seconds.japtor said:Are you trying to play remotely or only on the LAN? You say "eventually crapped out", do you mean it worked shortly then just choked? Cause that'd indicate you are able to connect, so it doesn't seem like Bonjour is an issue (it's basically just used for auto discovery to connect in the first place).

Yeah, waiting sucks. I'll take the 32 GB version when it comes out. I'm still using the first iPad and it kinda sucks.Gamecocks625 said:A6 and high res screen....drool

First, what app is that? Second, does the jot magnetically stick still if the smart cover is closed? I haven't gotten mine yet and have been curious.Piggus said:Woohoo! My Jot Pro has arrived.

I don't know when it's going to officially go on sale, but when it does I highly recommend it. It's MUCH nicer to use than a rubber-tipped stylus. And the Pro version clips to the iPad 2 via magnets, which is nifty.

Yes. You'll get used to it but I still prefer to read any text on the retina display while leaving images and video for the iPad.Majine said:How is it for people going from Iphone 4/Ipod Touch 4th Gen to Ipad / 2? Stumpokapow said:There are two entirely different sets of rumours; one of which talks about an iPad "HD", which would be a premium model that is sold alongside the current iPad but with a higher resolution and for professional designers. The second set refers to an iPad 3.
The consensus amongst the rumours seems to have been that there was originally a product launch intended for this fall, but that it does not seem likely now; most people would now say next spring.
No one has confirmed or denied any of these rumours.
1. Unless Apple has closed up leaks in its supply chain, there are few indications that there will be a new iPad is coming in time for the holidays. There is recent speculation about a new thinner battery, but that's it.Bryan1321 said:Whats up I-gaf

Mint, but it's currently iPhone/iPod only. If your personal bank has an app, some of them do that type of stuff too.Mike Works said:Does anyone have any recommendations for good (cheap, if not free) apps that keep track of your finances?
