Apple iPhone 6S |OT|

After using it a while, I dislike the size of the 6s+. I wish the smaller phone had OIS and similar battery. The regular 6s is very comfortable, much more enjoyable to use.

3D Touch to open task manager and switch between apps simply feels better and more responsive on the regular 6s. My 6s+ feels like the 3D Touch panel does not extend to the screen edge or something. It is really difficult to get the action to function as intended. On a 6s I can do it no problem.

If anyone is interested, I'll probably be selling a gold 6+ framexframe bumper in a couple of weeks. $25 and you pay shipping. It's like new.

Eh. I made the transition to the 6s+ coming from a regular 6s really nicely. I don't really have any problems 3D touching at all..Cept for the one with the keyboard for scrolling through text faster..It could be iffy at times lol. Other than that..Nope. I couldn't go back to the smaller phone. The screen size is awesome.

I've had the 6S+ since launch, and let me tell you I love it. But I have to admit that the size got to me. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but using it one-handed is a hassle, sometimes it even gives my hand a lil pain so I just go two handed. Plus it feels like a hassle carrying it around sometimes. Thing is I really need this battery life, my day starts at 7 and goes till 11 to midnight and this is the first phone to get me there and still have some charge in it. I also like the extra screen size fora lot of things like reading and watching videos.

So the pros definitely outweigh the cons, but to be honest, if somehow next year Apple makes the regular size 7 have great battery life and OIS I'll make the switch. Hope they can hit that 5" sweet spot but still keep the same size as the 6s.

I gotta ask, how much are you paying monthly for that plan? As a Canadian, that amount of data starts at $130/month. :(

Some US prices comparison:

T-Mobile: $80 for Unlimited for one line (it scales down after that, so line 2 is $60, line 3 is $40, etc). T-Mobile is the only one where there isn't shareable data, each line has their own amount

AT&T: 15gb is $100 a month, with a line access fee of $15 per smartphone (as long as you're not on a 2 year contract)

Verizon: 12gb is $80/month, 18gb is $100/month with a line access fee of $20 per smartphone (as long as you're not on a 2 year contract)

Sprint: 10gb is $100 a month, 40gb is $120 a month, unlimited is $55/month, line access fee of $15 per smartphone (as long as you're not in a 2 year contract)

I have big hands so it's a very personal thing. I couldn't be happier with the 6S+, it's a perfect smartphone. I know Apple will need to top that with the 7 line, and I wish them good luck :)

I’m thinking I should get my 6s+ next week. Hopefully.

I’ve let go of the TMSC vs Samsung “issue”.

Just get to me, phone. My 5 needs retirement.

I hope you won't wind up like me, my iPhone 6s Plus has a black smudge at bottom left of the screen, and bleeding at the top(both issues are somewhat common, and I'm lucky enough to have both lol), I'm going to return it and go back to 5 next week.

Where are you getting it? It's sold out everywhere. :((((
Directly from my local mobile provider in europe. Some specific models are clearly on shortage but they had the one I wanted. Got lucky I guess, but will still need a shipping confirmation, I'm hoping that happens on monday!

Ah well, we'll see. Fingers crossed.

Done a bit of a u turn and am loving this phone now, still a bit unsure of the size (hate not being able to easily use it in one hand) but the battery life is insane, the camera very good and I love how polished everything is.

One problem though, I was at a show a couple of nights ago - took a few slow motion videos before it started then put my phone in my pocket. Once the show was over, my phone wouldn't respond to anything, it just had a black screen - I had to hard reset it and the phone was quite hot. Any ideas what could have caused that please?

I see that you're from Portugal too. I ordered the regular 6s 64gb from Phone House but they still don't know when they're getting new units. I heard 26 Oct and November, but I don't want to believe.

Hah, greetings. I do am from there but I’ve been living in Finland for a while now. Ordered the phone from DNA (last week I had ordered from Elisa but turns out it was backordered and I cancelled it).

In Portugal I never got an iPhone from TPH, only Vodafone and Apple.com/pt. Not an option?

I've got a big discount at TPH. 200 euros. That's too much money to pass. I could get it by Wednesday if I ordered from Apple.pt though. :(

Agreed, that’s a very good discount, even if it means to wait out a while. Last time I also had to wait weeks to get my 5. Ended up just taking my mind off it to make it easier.

That's kind of where I stand, but one hand usability is more important to me. Phones should be all about convenience and ease of use. The 6s+ is both less convenient and less easy to use. It is still a good phone but I don't feel the same wow factor because half the time I'm using it I have to contort my fingers into an unholy pretzel to keep it from plummeting to the floor. It's better with two hands, but that lessens the immediacy of use and makes it tougher to just lift from a pocket and get things done.

Mine also has bleeding at the top, but it is very slight. Not worth exchanging, but noticeable on all-white screens. It shows up worst on the splash logo at boot.

I feel the same way as you but you can't have both portability and a big ass screen.

It doesn't bother me carrying it around but talking on the phone doesn't feel weird and is definitely not as comfortable as using a smaller size phone. I will occasionally miss being able to use the phone with one hand too.

On the other hand the battery is amazing and its nice to see websites, pictures, documents and emails with the bigger screen.

I friggin love using 3D Touch as a mouse though. That along with the super fast Touch ID is something I feel I need in every phone now.

The size ofn the 6+/6s+ is fine but the screen needs to be bigger. The top and bottom bezel are too tall. There are android phones with the same size screen and dramatically smaller footprints.

T-Mobile is trash though. I had them for two weeks and ditched them. And went with a real service in AT&T. Sure my bill will be more per month, but at least I'll actually have service everywhere I go. No wonder T-Mobile has been going on a tangent trying to sell their service and John Legre or whatever his name is, is doing his best to get beg and bribe people to come to that terrible service. Unless you live in a big city like New York or San Fransico stay away from T-Mobile. Especially if you live in the South like me and theirs a lot of rural areas.

T-Mobile isn't trash, they simply have less coverage outside urban areas. They've been deploying the new 700MHz spectrum network that is considerably improving coverage over rural areas.

Yeah, my family has had T-Mobile but I switched a while ago since I was pretty much on 2g everywhere. My sister has said she's getting 4g in some more spots but it's not consistent enough to listen to spotify on a drive. My girlfriend and I would switch over to T-Mobile in a second if the coverage was better around here.

T-Mobile may have been trash for you, but saying flat out that it *is* trash is just wrong. Obviously you have to go with what works for you, but the terms they offer are better than any other major carrier. If they have good coverage in your area, then it's a no-brainer.

Sucks to be you. Full 5 bars for me here in NYC. It's been surprisingly good within the tri state area as well. Can't hate on a company for not being a shitty carrier like ATT/VZ and going out of its way to please their customers. I can see it sucking for people who don't have good service but for me it's been fantastic. Music streaming not counting towards your data is a godsend.

No it doesn't. I'm on what is considered one of the best services now with AT&T. And like I said earlier unless you live in a big city like NY or SF, it's terrible. I'd rather pay good money for something that works than pay cheaper for something that doesn't. With T-Mobile I only had 1 or 2 bars. With AT&T in cities I have all 4-5 bars and where I live I have 3 bars instead of 1 with T-Mobile. I'm happy with a real service like AT&T thank you.

But will it actually work though ? Doubt it.

T-Mobile has lying coverage maps. I know they all do to an extent but you can't tell me the service around here is good when I get No Service when I walk into any building.

I can deal with poor coverage. I can't deal with none.

AT&T is trash. I ditched them 3 years ago and have never looked back. Why pay so much more for similar coverage and be tied down a carrier, while paying for overages on data....

Okay, so T-Mo didn't work out for you in your area. Lucky there's a thing called competition and people fighting to get your attention. You can't look and see what T-Mo has done with their Uncarrier movement and say it's not a good thing for the industry.

T-Mobile has been playing hard ball to get anyone on their service and so far it has worked for them. This has caused other carriers to offer better deal out of their comfort. At the end of they day you should be happy what T-Mo has done for the industry and made carrier shopping more flexible. Other wise you could be playing $80 for limited talk time, messages, and 3GB of data. Now that's a shot at AT&T.

You seem to have real trouble thinking beyond yourself.

Also, I doubt you've been to everywhere in the country that is not a "big city" to determine that there is no good coverage with T-Mobile.

It's simple: the terms that T-Mobile offers are better than the other carriers. This assumes that coverage is good in your area, of course, because as you say, it makes sense to pay for something that works than pay less for something that doesn't.

With that said, it does indeed "suck to be you" in that you can't enjoy a better deal while getting the same coverage. It's pretty simple and I don't think the guy is saying that you should regret going with AT&T. It makes sense in your situation.

Very happy owner of a 6s here. Had a Nokia 1520 previously so I'm all too familiar with owning giant-ass phablets, in fact I was dead set on getting the Plus since I was already accustomed to a big screen. With the addition of OIS and a bigger battery you'd have thought this decision was a no-brainer, but I got the smaller phone due to stock shortages and I gotta say I'm not regretting the choice at all. I do sometimes miss the bigger screen when reading stuff online but that's pretty much it, the battery is pretty damn awesome (as long as you keep the Facebook app off the phone) and the camera is great.

More than anything else, I just appreciate actually having a phone-sized phone again. Usability on the 6s is so much better than any phablet, I hadn't realized how much I missed just being able to work a phone with one hand until I got the 6s.

Smaller phone has better antenna performance and weight distribution.

Does the 6s+ dig into anyone's pinky finger? Using the silicon cover so don't know if that is making a sharp edge along the bottom really not comfortable to use in one hand because of it.

I think I'd have to give the edge to the P&S, what do you think? We're definitely at the point where P&S cameras are redundant, but you're still giving up a bit, as this wasn't even a high end camera when new.

A lot of that jailbreak stuff looks like garbage. No thanks.

Personally, the release of Medusa, which brings split screen multitasking from ios9 to all iPhones, is making me seriously consider getting a 6s plus instead of a Nexus 6p. I love it on my iPad and being able to do it on that phone excites me very much.

I honestly expect the iPhone 7 to fix these issues, but until then, we get to deal with the regression.

Have any games been released supporting 3D Touch? Any cool implementations, or has it helped with on-screen d-pads?

You're acting like what I'm saying is an opinion. It's a fact that AT&T is a much better service than T-Mobile, not an opinion. Value wise it may be, but coverage wise it's a fact AT&T always had and always will have better coverage than T-Mobile will ever dream of having.
