Apple iPhone 6S |OT|

Okay, I just reserved in-store using the link above. But I still had to select a carrier, and I have to show up with two pieces of ID? To buy a phone?

Is this a joke?

Yeah, you gotta choose a carrier. Just how things are here with the iPhone I guess.

On the second part, though, that makes sense. The reservations are for the iPhone Upgrade Program which is their leasing program. They are going to do a credit check for the Upgrade Program unless I am misunderstanding the details. It makes sense that they will need multiple forms of ID for that.

Wait a minute.
The full retail prices are all $50 more at Best Buy.
699, 799, and 899 respectively.

I noticed that and I don't understand. Also Best Buy's rewards system was taken down so I can't apply any reward certificates to it. Will get the store to do a return and then repurchase it with the certificates.

Oh well.

Ended up going with the regular S. Pussied out on going Rose Gold or Plus, but I did get that dock tho.

I was able to get through with the reservation link for the Upgrade program, but have a bunch of people actually been able to get through to the main iPhone store on apple's site? I've been refreshing nearly constantly since 3, and not one bite.

Finally got through with Tmobile after 40 minutes of being on hold. Just placed my order for a 6s plus 64gb space grey. Now time to take my ass to bed.

Does anyone know when my upgrade eligibility changes? Is it when my phone ships, or when I activate it?

In other words, can I use my upgrade for the in-store pickup and return the phone that's being shipped? There are some things I'd like to talk to the AT&T reps about before activating, if possible.

I was able to reserve 2 for in store, but I didn't do it through the Iphone Upgrade link. I'm at max reservations now and there's no way to cancel and re-do the order through the upgrade program link. Think it matters?

I accidentally reserved two as well since the first one wasn't the upgrade plan. Said I was at my limit and with no way to cancel it

Guys, I have a super important question here, please respond, etc.

What are some accessories I should get for my iPhone 6S Plus? Also, recommend a good clear case?

Ordered my 128GB 6S Plus. I'm pretty happy. Coming from 4S, I do hope it's not too big. I have big-ish hands but my 4S is just so cute. I'm gonna miss it.

Got in via T-Mobile over the phone. Wasn't a jump customer, but the agent was able to easily enroll me and secure me a launch Rose Gold 128GB model all in one go. Pumped!

I still have a 4S... not as my daily driver, but I use it as my alarm clock... hah. It will be like night and day, no question.

Did you just order a full price T-mo phone through the app like we discussed?

Worked great for me. Sorry you had trouble

No, but I'm glad to see the T-Mobile thing worked! I tried to make an in-store reservation because I want to do the iPhone Upgrade thing. So I selected my model, clicked "make reservation" in the Apple Store app, it bumped me to Safari where it had me pick my store, sign in with my Apple ID, then text a number to receive from them a verification code I would type in to make the reservation. So I did.

And I never got a text back. Meanwhile the model I wanted was scooped up at both my local stores by people successfully making reservations, until they stopped taking reservation entirely. And I never got my text, so even though I got in pretty quick, I came out with nothing

I went through the app and I think I accidentally bought the phone at full price instead of the payment plan, ugh. -_- Hopefully they'll let me change to the upgrade program in store since I can't cancel the reservation now.

Ordered through the Apple Store app with zero drama. If you're all having trouble going through Apple proper, in past years I've had a lot better luck with the carrier websites. I only did it through Apple because Verizon has this unbendable rule about delivering to anything but the billing address, and I'd really prefer it to come to my office.

The store app says they have my order, but it's been like 15 minutes and still no email...

If the store app shows it as a current order, I think you'll be fine.

I just did it again without using the Upgrade Program link, and got the same result. America is weird.

I guess I have two phones reserved now too. Woops

check the order status in the app or in your email inbox soon (took mine about 10 mins to arrive but the crowds have probably died down some)

Damn that will be a HUGE upgrade for you, because i went from 5 to 6 to 6plus and now to 6s plus
Would be cool if they would have 6s Plus plus, would totally buy that

Yeah, hopefully. Still no email, but that's exactly what mine looks like "we've received your order". And I have an order number.

You'll most likely be able to change payment type in store. I did the iPhone Upgrade Program option and here's what it said in my confirmation email:

Can I change the iPhone Upgrade Program to a different purchase option?
You can also purchase your iPhone through carrier financing or at full price. Ask a Specialist in store for more information.

Why not cut your losses, pay in full right now so you have one?

Two days after launch go in with it still sealed and say you want to return it and iPhone upgrade plan it. They probably could do it

The e-mail shows the full price. I didn't realize my mistake until my brother sent me a screenshot of his order with the monthly price listed below the phone model. I was trying to rush through the ordering process so I could get in on the first shipment. I'll just cross my fingers and hope I can change plans later, I guess. >_>

I can afford the full price even if they won't let me switch, but it's not ideal. Thanks for sharing!

I'm hoping those ATT dates are wrong. Why would it sell out that quick?

Not much I can do, I was able to sign a 2 year contract and keep my unlimited data. So going through the website direct was my only choice.

My dog was murdered by a 3.5mm audio port and I will not rest until the standard is dead
So I bought a full price one under T-Mobile. I hope it's unlocked and ready. I won't even touch T-Mobile. But there's no straight up option.

For what it's worth, going through Apple also let me stay on my current Verizon plan. (My thoughts on whether I want to stay on that in the long-term given their new pricing structure are for another thread.)

I've only ever ordered through apple.com (using AT&T Next both last year and this year) and have kept my unlimited data each time.

I.... I could probably do that

Alright, bought it at full price. God, that was a painful purchase

Wow, an hour later and delivery was still 9/25. I'm shocked

thats true...but you couldn't do the 2-year agreement option on Apple. Only the ATT NEXT option. Which I have no interest in.

The only way to pay the reduced price of $299 was to go through ATT direct.

what's weird is that the delayed shipping date is for all models of the 6S Plus only. the 6S shows day 1 delivery. I'm hoping it's a mistake.
