Minsc said:I don't think I'd use anything except for Quicken (paid software, no app) or Mint (free), and since I use quicken, I'm stuck with nothing. How it is Quicken doesn't have an iPhone app (in the US) is beyond me, when my local grocery store does.

Mejilan said:So, I just spent the entire night learning all about how to root a Behold II Android phone.
I've never used an Android phone, and knew nothing about rooting them before this.
But I just finished installing a custom ROM based on Android 1.6, which is much better and faster than anything Samsung released for the device. Oh, and fuck you Samsung, for killing support of the device less than half a year after its release, and reneging on your Android 2.x promise!
So, after spending a few more hours hacking it, flashing it, and reconfiguring it, I discovered the wonder that is Swype. How the FUCK does my iPhone not have something like this? Nothing on the App Store. Nothing on Cydia.
I want...![]()

I read about ShapeWriter, but heard that it was half-assed on the iPhone, for obvious reasons. Are they still alive? Their forums are spam central now. Regardless, the whole matter is moot, since it's no longer available anyway.Charred Greyface said:ShapeWriter was available for the iPhone but has been withdrawn from the AppStore. ShapeWriter was acquired by some company and I have no idea what they are doing with it. BlindType was acquired by Google so forget about that one too. It ultimately depends on Apple and they proved unwilling to look beyond the regular software keyboard.Mejilan said:I read about ShapeWriter, but heard that it was half-assed on the iPhone, for obvious reasons. Keeping an eye on Blindtype, but so far... nothing.

Webout is an iOS browser that just hit the App Store and it allows you to stream HTML5 video to your second generation Apple TV. iOS Safari is currently not capable of streaming video to the Apple TV, only audio, so this app fills the gap. The app is universal for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and costs $0.99 on the App Store. Let us know how it works out for you.

Thanks to your post I just picked up Tunein-radio app for $0.99. So nice to listen to some hard to pickup local stuff as well as the popular stations. Totally worth the price even before I got to all the extras they have added like recording.Charred Greyface said:ShapeWriter was available for the iPhone but has been withdrawn from the AppStore. TuneIn Radio, WunderRadio
That's the iPad version of the app I posted. And yes, it's awesome too. ^_^Jayayess1190 said:Radio.com app I like better, it combines AOL and CBS radio apps in one.

Use this application to watch AirPlay video streams from another iOS device (iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running iOS 4.2) on the same local network, or from iTunes. Just launch AirView, then tap the AirPlay icon on the YouTube media player from another iPhone for example, and the video should start playing on AirView. This works with videos played in iTunes on a Mac or PC too. Photos are not supported yet.
This thread Nefertiti took off as I intended, but it's still around for the most part.numble said:See I don't know where to post this because it is also a universal app (runs on iPad). But whatever...
AirView turns your iOS device into an Airplay receiver! Get it before it potentially gets taken off the store. You can flick a movie or song from your iPhone to your iPad or iPod Touch, from iTunes to your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch etc. and vice versa. (I haven't tested this yet though).

I downloaded a hack that let me stream from iOS to the computer. It works pretty well--I've sent Youtube videos, iPhone/iPad photos and iPhone recorded videos (I think) to my computer screen, and it's pretty neat.mrkgoo said:This thread Nefertiti took off as I intended, but it's still around for the most part.
When you say vice versatile, you are saying you can stream from your idevice to iTunes? Regardless, it's free, so i've downloaded it. I,ve been wanting a no frills streaming solution without having to install stuff.
Thanks for threads up.

Capturing panoramas has never been easier! Just tap the screen and pan your phone camera in any direction. You'll see your panorama being built in realtime as every incoming frame is processed. When you're done, you can instantly save your panorama or share via email or Twitter--no need to wait for it to stitch. View your panoramas as photos or experience them in immersive 360 View. There is nothing else like it!
