GM on my SE didn't fix some artists not having portraits on Apple Music or the "Downloaded" button being too big. Bummer.

Also, installing the Sierra GM now. I formatted my computer recently and I have everything on Google Drive so if it's a bust I have nothing to lose. Let's see.

Mine is 2014.

This is the startup. https://youtu.be/t88V1of4xfY
It's so weird, first the max light and then when loaded it's so hot, like there was something stressing it while booting up.

Is there a way to save all the bookmarks on safari? Because I thinks I will have to go back to El Capitan, but I don't have a backup (yeah I know), so I don't really feel like it. I'd like to wait for an update, but I don't when there will be another one considering this is the GM, the final one.

Mine gets really hot, too. This is the activity monitor

Your Safari bookmarks get saved with iCloud.

So I think I fixed my problem. I had a Razer Deathadder plugged in. Noticed a Razer process in activity monitor that was not responding but I couldn't kill it. Unplugged the mouse and I'm using a magic trackpad... And no freezing. Have a Razer keyboard though still and it's fine.

Installed the Sierra GM last night on my 2014 rMBP and it's been a great experience so far. Feels a touch more smooth and responsive than El Capitan, everything seems to be working as if should. I'll have to check to see if that dual monitor fullscreen video bug's been fixed.

I have dark mode and the notifications are white. Why Apple? WHY?!

Edit: also, can't click on anything on the Notification Center, awesome.

Edit2: restarted and it fixed that as well as some icons on the top bar that were missing like the Siri one.

Ok, I've found one major bug with Sierra. Using 5GHz wifi is now incredibly slow, borderline unusable. The 2.4GHz band is still working perfectly fine.

If I downloaded the sierra GM and copy it to a USB can I use it to install sierra on another Mac that is not signed up for the betaseed?

Man, PiP on Sierra is great. It's going to be awesome to work and watch videos at the same time without having to use my iPad. So good.

I kinda wish I had a bigger screen now but this will do. Awesome stuff.

EDIT: Also, updating stuff to iCloud is great but I'm fine on storage right now and I'm using Google Drive to do something similar so I'll keep doing that. I might change services in the future especially for the neat iOS integration but for now I'm fine like this.

iOS 10 GM seems good on my iPhone 6 so far.

Has everyone seen the Announce Calls feature (Settings -> Phone -> Announce Calls) that's sneaked into the GM build? You can get the phone to read out the caller name when headphones or Bluetooth audio are connected (or at all times). I've wanted this so many times when I'm listening to music with the phone in my pocket.

I've been trying to download the iOS10 release candidate from the beta.apple.com program for a full day now. It continually hangs on "estimating time remaining".

I've rebooted my iPad Pro, tried killing the Settings app (along with every other app), played with airplane mode, tried from a different wifi network, reinstalled the beta certificate, etc. Nothing helps.

Any ideas?

It was the same for me, where it bounced between an hour, two hours, to "estimating time remaining". I've paused the download a few times by turning off Wifi, but that doesn't seem to have helped much.

Not sure if it had anything to do with it, but my network was busy since I was streaming a hockey game. When the game ended, I closed the stream and the download went a lot quicker.

Unfortunately, it never actually starts downloading for me. I never get an estimate, just hangs at "estimating time remaining".

I'm sure an iTunes update would work fine but it doesn't pull down beta releases like this. I tried and it said I was up to date.

My big problem with Sierra is photoanalysisd can't take a fucking clue to stop.

That process churns my CPU. Since I have something like 60,000 photos in my library, it's going to take forever.

The main issue is it runs regardless of Photos being open or not. I have to keep an eye on my CPU meter, and quit the process whenever it spawns and lights the bars up. (It's so stupid that it caused my MBP to overheat and lock up a few times during a heat wave a couple of weeks ago.)

I submitted bug reports on it.

hmmm ios 10 really is fairly boring update if you aren't invested in the stock apps (messages, maps, music etc). Apple really should do what Google does on android, and have the stock apps updates from the app store and not be tied to OS updates.

Not really sure if im a fan of the new 'bubbly' ui changes, but i do like the new tabs in the slide up menu.

Why is Notification Centre white when dark mode is on. WTF Apple! D:<
Better question is why the hell is dark mode only on macOS and why is it so half-assed? Why isn't it system wide with all the windows changing to black with white text (In this day and age of macOS apps, this would be trivial.) and why isn't there a version on iOS yet?

But.. that's literally one of the new features in iOS 10. Stock apps can (mostly) be deleted and will update separately now.

But they do. Don't they? I swear this was a bullet point at the Keynote.

Nope. The "delete" feature only hides them and removes the stored data for them. If you go to the App Store and press the download icon it'll just re-add them to your homescreen (no downloading).
The thing they talked about was most likely the "OTA updates" to certain apps like Maps or Music (where they update something on their end and it shows up in the form of added transit or maps data or new playlists for you to listen to).

Installed both iOS10 and macOS Sierra on my devices. Only issue I had was my phone shutting down at 39% (had to plug it in to get it to start up again).
Still bummed that they didn't add a way to select a "main face" for a person in the photos app. If you name one of the many "drunken faces" first you're out of luck and that's the persons main face from now on. Thank Gaben I still remembered said issue from beta 2 days and named the best pictures first and then merged the rest.

Yeah, Apple has been adding transit info to various cities without updates but they also specifically said they wouldn't be doing individual app updates to system updates via the app store.

I have the same issue on my iPad Pro. Looking around the net and a quick chat with an Apple customer rep it seems we have to wait until Tuesday and update through iTunes. He did say that doing a restore and then reinstalling the beta profile should work but then I would have to do another iCloud restore to get the data on the device again. Too much work. I will just wait until Tuesday.

Deleting them just "hides" them. They're still there, taking up space. They're listed in the App Store to unhide them since that's where they figured people go anyway to download new and old apps. They're still updated as part of the core system as always, not separately

On a second note, I can't believe this is GM. There's so many bugs that haven't been fixed

I've been wanting to wipe my iMac and start fresh for a while, but it's been a looooooong time since I've done something like that so I don't remember how it works. Assuming I back everything up beforehand, when I update to Sierra is there an option to do like a clean install?

Sounds good.

At least this problem got me to check iTunes, which was apparently broken on my Windows machine. It would lock up as soon as I tried to open Preferences even if no devices were connected. Had to delete all preferences/libraries/whatever before it worked again.

In related news, iTunes is pretty awful.

Having the same exact issue with my IPad Pro it hangs on estimated time remaining. I've tried all the steps of restarting, turning things off and even reinstalling the beta profile but it won't go away. I did get a prompt that allowed me to unpause the download once.

My iPhone SE took the update and didn't hang at all during the download so it might be specific to the iPad Pro.

I STILL can't rearrange songs in my Up Next list unless I disable Repeat, and I STILL can't turn off Repeat at all. And I STILL can't Play Later. Fucking fuckity fuck fuck. What the fuck. Fuck this shit, Apple.

Time to send yet another report. I'll make a video first.
