Looks like Google and Apple are going head-to-head on the 16th. That's apparently the same day Google are doing their big Android L/Nexus 6/9 unveils.

Couldn't one of them had theirs the following day or something? X_X

I'm in for a faster Apple TV if they revise those. it's fairly cheap so it's a no brainer purchase for me

Gonna stick with my iPad Air for another year, at least. it's still super responsive and feels nice and light considering the big size

I they get a 5K retina iMac out there for this Xmas for under 3k, I'll probably bite.

Google can always change their date

In collaboration with Iggy Azalea, Apple is proud to present their "iPod The New Classic". Touch screen, 120GB of flash memory and comes preloaded with middling Hip-Hop music.

Verge will be amusing.

I hope the Apple TV gets updated. A dedicated app store, and gaming support would be huge. But only if they bump the hardware specs. 2x what the iPad Air pulls off now with 2-3GB of RAM would put it in Wii U territory.

I feel like Apple is missing a huge opportunity with Apple TV. Maybe they don't want to launch a true successor until they have TV channel streaming service locked down. An Apple TV that does mirroring, has an app store for apps and games, a proper controller and TV streaming with an A8/A9 with 2gb of ram would be a killer device.

My biggest wishes for the iPad Air are:

- Make it even lighter (with this thinner chassis and possible smaller battery due to A8 efficiency, this is possible with the new Air)
- Laminated screen (check)
- 2gb or ram to help with page reloads in safari. This is crucial, it is far more annoying on a tablet than on a phone.
- Split screen multitasking

If they can do all of that, I'm on board with this iPad. I've owned a few of them over the year and always end up returning or selling them. I love the big screen of the full sized iPads but they're still not quite there when it comes to weight and especially multitasking. I want to use it instead of my laptop most of the time, but I can't due to these deficiencies.

Yeah, the iPad really is long-overdue for a RAM upgrade.

They've had the same amount of RAM for the past three generations.

My iPad Air would be awesome if it had 2GB of RAM.

right now, it's a hope and pryer to flip between apps and safari tabs and hope you don't have to reload.

Hoping for new Mac Mini. It would also be nice if it would be possible to have a Mac Mini server with 32GB RAM, then I could consolidate all my r&d VMs into a single machine instead of the two I've got at the moment.

That and Apple TV, I hope.

Those are the two things I'm waiting on Apple for. Phone and iPads? Those are wait 'n' see territory. New Mini and an Apple TV running real iOS? Those I'll buy day 1.

New AppleTV needs to have HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2 and h.265 to be worth it. h.265 seems possible, based off the iPhone 6's A8 chip. Both HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 may be impossible still, however. Though at $100, I would upgrade to the next model that supports all three of those things right away anyways.
