This fusion drive is EXCELLENT, exactly what I wanted. One drive, but with the benefits of HDD size and SDD speed.
Yep, me too. Best thing they've announced. And no, it's not new. But I wanted one and now I can have one. That's good.

This Fusion drive concept makes so much sense it makes you wonder why it hasn't been done before now.
Yeah, my mom's iMac is getting pretty outdated, but I can't see her upgrading to something that requires an external drive. The extra space it would take up would make the volume and width reduction somewhat meaningless.Yeah, you people that still burn and write CDs, we'll gladly **** you over. What a joke.
Yep... Apple just invented hybrid drives that have been on the market for the past few years. This Fusion drive concept makes so much sense it makes you wonder why it hasn't been done before now.
Some of you guys don't read about tech unless its from Apple do you? :

Okay I can wait until December. BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!
No, the momentus hybrids had a a cache, like 4GB (new ones 8 or 16 or something).
Apple's fusion drive has a proper 128GB SSD, it seems. Or at least magnitude larger.
LOL, Apple wins again...
This tech has existed. Apple is just genius at introducing this stuff and claiming it's new.
does windows 8 do this fusion drive business?
It has hasn't it?

No you don't, apple JUST invented the fusion drive. But, I have a Fusion drive on my laptop, and I using it right now...
My neighbors are going to need a DVD drive. Damn, they really want a new iMac.... =\

wat?Onto the real stuff.
True that.On the bright side, bet they are about to catch a good deal on the old model.
I have a 27-inch iMac (and I love it). I'm a wedding videographer and editor. Customers want their weddings burned to DVD, whether you call that "living in the past" or not. Customers want it; it's a fact.
So basically I could never really use this computer, unless I buy their drive add-on. Which I never would.

and? im not saying they invented it, I'm saying they way it's managed and done and all that is nuts.
When your fans are oblivious to what's actually available in the real world, everything is new!
The tech they're copying is really good, though. It's nice to finally have it.
wat?
This accent is so grating.
