I'm really digging the screen size and don't really care about the resolution, just hope the price is decent and I might just get my first iPad.

HAH! So true

ipads moving to a fall update schedule, I'd imagine. ipad3 needed a refresh more than the normal apple release, and the tech was ready now

Odd to see Apple having to compare themselves to another product, rather than establishing the market. I actually don't think it's that necessary; the Mini will kill every other tablet anyway (barring a high price).

I was really excited to get the iPad Mini a few months ago, but then I bought my first smartphone, and a tablet feels completely redundant.

All of these comments are irrelevant if this iPad mini isn't $200/$250 or something.

He is very right about these tablet apps though.

...however, is there tablet-specific functionality that happens in iPad apps vs say...iPhone apps?

as an ipad 3 owner, i'm not really that peeved. i actually do notice slowdowns regularly on my ipad (with games i play), so i would definitely appreciate the spec bump, but it's no biggie. i wonder if this means we will start seeing semi-annual updates to ipads? 1 big update and 1 small spec bump, like the computers?

Really cool stuff so far but those cheap punches at the competition are really annoying - especially with "but the Mini is bigger" argument makes it hilarious.
