Think that was proven fake weeks ago.

I don't have any Apple products but I really enjoy these things. Can't wait until 1!
You're missing. Any particular reason why?

I completed the Apple ecosystem this summer with my iPhone 4S. Feels good man.

Not an Apple fanboy though....go figure.

Ugh. Idiot on Today Show spreading misinfo about the iPhone 5 specs. Says they're using micro USB. Lol.

Also says same camera, different lense for better focus. No one know's this yet!

Edit: lol Valkyr
I saw that. I haven't really been following the leaked stuff so I thought he knew what he was talking about. I guess not.

How much do you know about Chinese typography? If you know a lot, just look at the screenshots of iOS v. Android versions of Pleco. If you don't know about them, you'll be as oblivious as Chinese companies using incorrect Western fonts when they make iPhone fakes.

I think having features like ePub and PDF support sooner are worth it. I was one of those that asked for a ePub support (for a friend).

Here's a bug report thread for you to wade through:
http://www.plecoforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3084

A lot of it relates to how cameras are different across devices:

UI, I don't really like the iOS UI, but the Android UI is even less elegant:

What do you think of the Android specific features like the notification bar and launcher shortcuts?

Hmm.. UI changes will come eventually.

6. [Feature Request][Cosmetic] Everything looks so much better, I love the recent changes. (The mis-aligned text when device is inverted in OCR mode is all fixed up:) The only thing is, the bar at the top of the dictionary page sorta looks like an iOS program... it doesn't have the same look as a lot of android programs. Perhaps I'm just bias :p Just a thought
The problem is that the look of a lot of Android programs is going to change radically in the next 2 years thanks to the new Holo theme - once 4.0+ becomes the dominant OS we can just adopt that, but in the meantime we need something that's fairly clean and simple so that it'll look good with both major UI themes; the more traditional, silvery Android toolbars actually don't look very good with Holo because they're so shiny and round and it's so flat.

7. [Further Sprucing up] [Cosmetic] Also, there could be a little work done to spruce up the camera settings bar in OCR mode (as a note, I actually like the look of the focus, pause etc buttons - just the white lines around them somehow makes them look a bit nicer...), and even the non-popup bubble menu items in the reader could potentially be spruced up.
Another Holo-friendly thing - tactile buttons seem to be on the way out in ICS, if anything those bottom buttons ought to lose the white lines to look more ICS-y.

So this conference will decide who wins between @chronic and Jim Dalrymple in who is the most accurate Apple leaker.
Chronic did offer some leeway by saying that he doesn't know what's in the production model. He only has access to evt, which is field testing, but two steps behind the production model.

He takes forever to support new OS features. He's still using iOS 3, and Android 2.2 as a base, even not implementing features in new OS versions because of the Chinese market typically having more people that use older phones.

I use Pleco nearly exclusively for the reader (which launches if you have Chinese text in the clipboard), and the dictionary (which launches otherwise). Pleco's nearly always on my multitask tray so it launches quickly. I wouldn't use notification bar or launcher shortcuts since the 2 main functions are covered by launching the app anyway, I don't use Flashcards at all, and OCR is easy enough to get at (and I only use it maybe once every 2-3 months nowadays).

I think it was Rene Ritchie or somebody else that said that it was in an earlier model but was taken out.

No real reason. I had an iPhone from launch until WP launched and I liked it well enough. Just no real impetus to go back. I like using my girlfriend's iPad as well, but again I wouldn't buy one of my own. I certainly like and respect their quality, I just don't own any. An iPad Mini could change that though.

Ive never owned an Apple product, except if you count an old ibook i bought off ebay once.

Looking forward to own one soon, wheather its an itouch, iphone, or ipad mini.

I have used them before, and is familair with how it works, but I just never had the urge to get one.

I count it. You have definitely owned an Apple product in the past!

Everyone is complaining about all the leaks, can someone fill me in on which leaks we are talking about? I don't see anything in the OP.

The moment Apple announce an LTE device, Samsung will attempt to get it locked up in China due to patent infringement.

After reports Monday of LTE capability on the iPhone 5, the South Korean electronics giant "has decided to take immediate legal action," an industry source tells the Korea Times. Europe and the United States "are our primary targets," the source said.

The revelation comes on the heels of a U.S. trade judge hinting that Apple might not be able to persuade him that a pair of HTC patents related to 4G LTE technology should be invalidated in a case that could lead to an import ban on the latest iPad and the forthcoming iPhone 5.

Also from here

All Samsung needs to confirm is that the iPhone 5 is shipping with 4G LTE and it can then apparently set its lawyers into action. As is typical with these patent lawsuits, Samsung will most likely seek an import ban meaning the iPhone 5 may not be able to leave its manufacturing plants and make it to the US to fulfill pre-orders. If such a thing ruling was made, Apple would most likely do a deal that meant it no longer pursued Samsung product bans, and might even forget about that billion dollar payout.

They've only brought this on themselves.

Those are release dates, not announcement dates.

New New iPad is just current iPad with the new dock connector.

I think they knew this all along that this was going to be how it will play out.

That is why the ipad 3 is called the new ipad. Because if they released it as the ipad 3 then the new new ipad cant be named the ipad 3S, because not enough was changed to warrant that.

A glass front that spanned the entire front like the iMac does could be interesting, but might not be a great idea on a mobile device.

Dropping that could be bad news. Aesthetically though it would be awesome
To bring this up again, I think should be the natural iPad progression. I would think a device with a bezel similar to the iMac could retain its structural support with an edge-to-edge glass front. For those wondering;

design_detail.jpg

That would be aesthetically amazing on an iPad. Literally no frame, just glass. Probably not possible on a smaller bezeled device, but here's a quick mock of how it might look;

The iPad form is just so perfect at this point, so the changes will probably be seen in the details from here on out, and this would be a great way to keep it fresh imo. When do we expect an iPad 4 (non mini)?

hype now at 11/10

I think it's near perfect but I would like it be lighter, as it can strain the hands after long use. But other then that I have no issue with it

Slightly hyped. My problem is: I have no idea how Apple is going to improve on the iPhone 4? I can't imagine any killer feature. Only better specs.

LTE spec should be dropped as a standard if companies like Samsung can file a legitimate suit against a company for including it in their product. That is not how standards are supposed to work. If this were ever a possibility in the first place, the wireless companies should have refused to roll it out because of the potential difficulties it would cause.

I hope that does not come to pass.

Can not wait to get home and curl up in front of the computer to watch the news roll in this morning :p
