screw the phone i want to see these rumored mini-ipads or whatever.

Reasonably priced 8" ipad would make me reconsider the kindle HD.

I just don't get why we get posts that people have "boners" over this. I mean it looks like a nice phone, but it's just a bigger screen and a bit smaller. There's nothing mind blowing or game changing about it. That's not a terrible thing, but it's just kind of silly to see people overreact to stuff I guess.

This is coming from a dumb-phone user.

It's a solid upgrade, people who kept their expectations in check seem mostly happy with what we're seeing. Apple's not going to introduce some wildly different design just for the hell of it, and imo this is a nice refinement.

did they say if the new connector takes advantage of USB 3.0? would kinda suck if this this the new standard for years to come but still have the same USB 2.0 transfer speeds

I don't think this is enough to sell me on moving over to iOS. Maybe in 2 years when my next contract is up Apple.

Judging by the disappointment, they should've went with the thinner 3:2 aluminum curved back 4" iPhone design. Instead they went with this. Who knows, it was probably logistically the better choice.

Have you not seen the event? Seriously.

People saying ''That's it?'' must have been completely fixated by the taller screen, same width but are completely ignoring the fact that everything they improved and changed is so tremendous that a lot of companies need to up their ante by 200%

Lol no

This is more Madden 2013 than GTAV

"Now you can make a FaceTime call right over the cellular network." Well...
I think half my disappointment with phones stems from fucking at&t and not the manufacturers.

Are you forgetting all of the other hardware improvements? Yes that likely did take a lot of effort to accomplish.
It did, but it's a little silly to put such emphasis on this when the phone got taller as well. There's a reason it's easier for bigger devices to be thin.

You can say the same thing about any company's event this year versus last year's phone. It's a nice overall product, but I don't think they came with their A game on this. Of course, what I thought was a poor presentation probably has an affect on my judgement.

I guess? I don't know why you're attacking me. They touted a feature that my old phone has had for a while. That makes me worry. So I asked a question.

Not everyone is a fanboy. Relax. I have an iPad and a Droid X2, with a Windows PC.
Why would that make you worry though? And about what specifically?

Why would such a simple offhanded comment in a presentation cause anxiety for you? Do you have anxiety problems?

Im not as down on this so far as the others. IMO I expected this, its not shocking at all. But you MUST be kidding about the bolded. Cmon now... Maybe my sarcasm detector is broken.

I guess the thing with the iPhone is that, at the end of the day it's going to have to look the same as the other iPhones. With the old iPods and iPod Nanos, they tried a different looking design with every iteration, which made them feel more different. I think that's where some of the feeling of stagnation is coming from.

Same price as the 4S. $199 for 16GB. $299 for 32GB, $399 for 64GB.

haha some of you guys really think Steve had magic powers or something.

This device looks really sexy and Steve wouldn't have been able to put holograms or some insane tech in there either.

Just hoping for Apple to push the envelope a little more, especially with the rest of the field so hot on their ass.

But if Apple fans were only hoping for a spec bump, I guess that's enough?

now google will push innovation and apple with copy it, followed by lawsuits tables have turned lol

This is very true...believe it or not.
