I'm winning!

Pretty interesting conference. Feels like they're bringing ios and OSX even closer together in how they look, and the new OSX photos app seems quite smile and ios like.

Loved several things
- continuity looks like it'd be very handy
- iCloud drive looks great (hopefully the extensions allows Dropbox use too - saw onedrive in there)
- extensions
- metal. We'll see just how much real world performance increase there is though - draw calls is the thing pulled out for mantle too, but what about other more general improvements?
- 3rd party keyboards is huge for me personally. The one I have on windows phone is practically psychic

Since I got added to the iOS7 beta from someone here on NeoGaf last year, I'll have to wait for someone to post the iOS8 beta file online so I can download it, correct?

Though it'll quickly get lost, I'll post again that if you're wanting you UDID registered for the iOS8 beta, flick me a PM. Same deal as hirokazu, free, and any paypal donations will go back into the dev fund to keep you all going another year!

What are 10.10's base specs? Can't seem to find them.

this is for OS X Yosemite server, so probably the same:

To install OS X Server 4.0 Developer Preview, you need one of these computers:" "•"iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)"
"•"MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)"
"•"MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)"
"•"MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)"
"•"Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)" "
•"Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)" "
•"Xserve (Early 2009)"

Your Mac needs:"
"•"OS X Yosemite"
"•"At least 2 GB of RAM "
"•"At least 10 GB of available disk space (50 GB if you wish to use Caching Server)" "

looks like the same as 10.9

Continuity is seriously going to rule my world.

Phone calls on my Mac that come to my iPhone? Yes, please.

All texts on my Mac that come to my iPhone? Yes, please.

Seamlessly switching apps from iPhone to Mac to iPad to iPhone? Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes!

Is it worth getting the beta for Yosemite or should I just wait until it launches?

I remember last year Mavericks beta was really buggy and A LOT happened between beta and release.

I wonder how many people are going to be learning the wrong thing lol. Some totally niche academic language is going to have thousands of app flippers scrambling to learn it haha.
Heheh oops, I wasn't sure if it was the same thing but Wikipedia linked to it so it must have been correct, right???

Biggest Megaton: Apple is finally opening up shit for developers on iOS (other apps, parts of the OS, parts of the phone, etc)

No more control freak Steve Jobs stopping this, let the developers actually do some shit.

Does anyone have a video of the swift demonstration. All I can find is the video introducing swift and some shitty video from someone sitting at the conference.

Apple's ecosystem turning into "toxic hellstew" confirmed, haha.

Seems like everything they announced is about developer lock-in, especially Swift and Metal. (while it's true that Objective C has always been an Apple oddity, at least you could use C as a lingua franca.)

If there was ever any doubt, Apple is the new Microsoft.

Woo, my MB makes the cut. In for another year.

Whoever has the chance of trying it, can you tell me if the dark mode in Yosemite extends to the whole UI or just dock and bar?
Thank you.

I think they really struck a good balance on the icons in Yosemite. Not all the way iOS7 but they keep their desktop integrity.
