It's also why I'm kind of ok with the foreign heel as long as it is done well. I'd argue both Owens and Jinder are coming at it from the right way. Jinder is doing the original plan for Muhammad Hassan before it went really racist with the terrorist angle, and the benefit here is Jinder is actually an Indian Canadian whereas Hassan was 100% Italian pretending to be Arab.


It works for me because i see it as a criticism of the xenophobic mentality. Owens and Jinder are faces for me...

I didn't watch Fast and Furious 8, but Vin is the main character. If the issue was really Rock wanting to taker over, that's dumb.

eh, I think NXT is still hurting from the draft and the cruiserweights. Collectively that was a massive drain on their roster and the end result is that a lot of people who weren't ready for TV yet are now on TV

It's tough to swallow the subjective heel approach. "You hate diversity" and "You hate me cause I'm rich" is a real have your cake and eat it too sort of approach.

With him dead it's all up in the air. Rock is the one who made the franchise as big as it is.

If the Rock was really demanding he be given the franchise... kinda makes him the jerk no?

The Buster was the worst part of F&F not named Tyrese Gibson, who both not-coincidentally co-starred in the worst movie in the series.

Get Lucas Black on a P90X program and bring back that wabaki magic.

Also probably justifies why Vin wasn't friendly with The Rock, I wouldn't be super friendly with someone trying to take my spot, especially when it's really my only spot anymore... Especially when the script, the producers and everyone said that Diesel's character was the main character.

Man just goes to show how much reputation can carry you. Rock was openly bitching and everyone was on his side... Diesel said nothing and everyone was shitting on him. Rock's a master carny.

4 was mediocre and it wasn't til Fast Five (the best of the franchise, imo) with Dwayne that they morphed into actual good action movies.

Fast Five was a success because they did a slight genre pivot and got away from being car porn movies to being Oceans 11 but with cars

In fate of the furious, was the plot written around Rock? Was he the main character?

If so, there is an argument to be made, if not, the main characters is still Vin, and even when Paul was alive Vin was the center of some of the movies, not only plotwise, but also exposure wise. If he is the character that is around the most and the plot is written around him, he is the star and that's the end of that.

Let's face it. This is the only reason that Jinder is a heel. It's not xenophobic mental in general is more specifically American. But I rather have Jinder as a champ than Brock at this point. Brock is just wasting everyone time at this point.

I mean, it' still gonna be Vin's show since he's now a producer, but he's being a little egocentric if he thinks the franchise has maintained alive based on his name, dude tried to bring back Riddick and no one really cared.

Plus, whatever argument you have is invalidated by the fact that you're a jobber waiting to happen at GWF 3.

mehhh.

If you take out the Fast films from his filmography it's pretty lackluster, at least in terms of the Fast films. The films where he plays the main character don't get sequels and he even had a straight-to-dvd film post Fast 6. His biggest film outside Fast is a VO role in a Disney film that was expected to do much better.

If anything the Fast films saved him. Dude was doing films like Faster, Tooth Fairy, Planet 51 and Race to Witch Mountain in the two years prior.

I wasn't speaking to now, just NXT over the last 2ish years. There have been some call ups who were clearly way too soon and are not showing much in the way of improvement.

I decided to listen to all of Lapsed Fans Mania recaps. I'm trying to fill in gaps for any I don't remember enough to enjoy the episode. So this meant re-visiting Mania 6 and 8, so I figured why not just go all the back through. I recall 9 and 10 pretty damn well (rented them a lot as a kid) so 11 is where I'm at.

I'm planning to do the same with their Starrcade memorial tour.

The same can be said for the Rock thinking that he is the reason why it got back on track rather than the renewed formula aimed more at crazy action than simple early 2000s car fetish and big budget.

I like how you never give up, no matter how many times I out promo you. I can almost respect the fact that you are trying to steal some of the spotlight that follows me around, the only problem is, you are so far behind that all you'll ever get is my shadow.
