Good write up by Regal.

My tips on becoming a Pro Wrestler/Sports Entertainer. It takes a lot more work to being a WWE superstar than an few Pro Wrestling holds and throws. You must develop all your skills and that usually comes from help from more experienced pro's. I never had to be told to ask for help and guidance and never to this day stop working on my skills. Sitting round texting, playing games and whining will get you know where. No one owes you a living.

So that I don't come across like a miserable old git (insert joke), I will happily give some free advice to up and coming Pro Wrestlers:

Find a school with a good rep and a trainer who has a great pedigree.
Learn the basics properly.Get and stay in good condition, there's a big difference from looking in condition to actually being in condition.I'm a believer in Hindu squats,Hindu push ups and most importantly proper bridging(nose on mat, feet flat on mat).Work hard and have respect for the job.Good manners go a long way.Treat people the way you would like to be treated.Enjoy it.

Now once you are training:

- Make everything you do mean something or don't bother doing it.

- Study the greats and the people who the great ones admire.Very important.

- Get a good base of basics and perfect them.Don't take this for granted.

- Work at perfecting your skills but be honest with yourself. If there are things you don't do well then avoid doing them.

- Try to find someone who will give you an honest answer about your skills. Most people's ego won't allow them to think they do things badly.

- Practice your talking skills. Use a mirror and film yourself and work on every detail, facials, eyes and mannerisms.

- Look to the world to find things that you can use to develop your character. Films, TV shows and anything else that grabs your attention.

- Learn how to read people's emotions. This tip is invaluable. People don't just boo or cheer. You have to learn how to make them.

Only one in a million has the Elvis factor(old reference but I can't think of a better one).If you truly have that quality then you can get away with anything but the majority of us don't so don't take your skills for granted.I believe that that the more time you put into learning the details the better and longer your career will be.

Watch this match and really study everything they do.You should aim for this standard if you are interested in technical wrestling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6YW9Xcp07s&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I know I'm the last person you want to listen to about physique training but it's very important these days. From seeing how the smart people train now it seems as though compound movements like squats, deadlifts etc build better, more functional, resilient bodies for our business.Bodybuilding movements don't.Like I said, this is just what I see and hear .

Learn from the mistakes of the people who have come before you (including me) and try not to make them.

To make it in the WWE you have to be very adaptable and willing to make any character or opportunity work.Heres some very good advise.Make a list of the worst possible situations and character traits you be asked to do.Now make up a character and promos involving those traits and work on perfecting that character and promo(on your own otherwise you'll get locked up).Make those things second nature. Now you've taken away some of your fears so whatever you are asked to do should be easier.Dont skip this task.Very few people who come to the WWE end up being the character they envisioned.
.
The most important things you have to make you connect with an audience are your eyes.If you believe in yourself and your persona it will be evident in your eyes. You cannot show any real emotion without your eyes. So,if you're interested in being taken seriously then never wear anything to cover them. This will offend a lot of people but you don't look cool wearing sunglasses indoors. You look a divvy. There are many big stars who have worn them but you'll find most will take them off when they're making a serious point or they just have that special magic that only 1 in a million have.

- wOne more tip. Everyone takes ideas from others but make them your own. Try to be original. Be a one off.

That's enough for today. Sounds simple enough but very few put those ideas into practice. Use common sense. Everything is in those tweets. Figure them out. In other words don't be a div. I can't hold your hand.

Forget the Edge career set, Ring of Honor just released a career retrospective of one of the best in the world

nigelmainrotor.jpg

The career of former ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness has been defined by the sacrifices he made for his love of professional wrestling. Whether it was outside the ring in his personal life, or inside the ring with his own body, he certainly paid a price in his pursuit of a dream, a dream Nigel achieved through his in-ring tenure with Ring of Honor.

From his humble beginning in 2003, to his infamous Soccer Riot Match with Colt Cabana, and into his record setting reign as Pure Champion, McGuinness established himself as one of the premier athletes in ROH. Then, with his ROH World Title reign, and the battles against the likes of Austin Aries, Takeshi Morishima, and Tyler Black, Nigel cemented his legacy as one of the best to ever step foot in the ROH ring.
This unique 2-Disc DVD release is an introspective look at not only the bouts that defined Nigel McGuinness as an ROH Icon but at the man's thoughts, recollections, and reflections on the matches & moments that earned him that label. Join Nigel as he sits down with ROH cameras to share his innermost thoughts on a career that took him around the world and certainly touched the lives of a great many fans in the process.

I'm in, a way to avoid those bland squash matches and give Tensai some sort of direction, for me the Jericho feud has run its course, they can wrap it up at Extreme rules.
Jericho can do work with a face mid carder like Kofi to try and pull him up in the ranks afterwards, Punk gets to be in that face underdog position against a more powerful opponent in a battle of his "best in the world" wrestling skills versus the destructive power game of the man who "dominated Japan".

Punk vs. Tensai just seems like it would be Cena vs. Umaga all over again.

Regal is the man, still gutted that he screwed up his chance at the big time during his KOTR and GM stint.

His point about eyes and sunglasses is oddly intriguing to me, a lot of guys wore them in 2000/2001, Rock obviously had the it factor to pull it off, often whipping them off with an intense stare when needed, Edge and Christian put a a goofy twist on it as well as Too Cool and Rikishi (especially those ones Christian wore that went over the head, then there was Rikishi needing the sunglasses to dance). Oh and Bossman, can't forget him.
So the outliers here are like Tazz and Test I guess, Test had the whole bouncer/security thing going at one point and Tazz.....well yeah I guess he did look like a bit of a Divvy.
So yeah, lots of sunglasses back in the day, now we have Zack Ryder filling the void.

Punk vs. Tensai just seems like it would be Cena vs. Umaga all over again.

I actually didn't mind that feud, it was inevitable that Umaga would have to lose eventually, might as well lose to the invincible top guy if anyone, first with a desperation roll up and later with an unorthodox rule stretching beat down, in fact the LMS match is possibly my favourite Cena match and certainly my favourite Umaga match.

You mean Punk will look as if he were lifting the whole earth when attempting to do the GTS on Tensai? And to beat him, he'll need to disarm the ring and choke him with the ropes while doing the Anaconda Vise?

I would agree that Sony shouldn't give up the TV business. What you say is the next most important factor besides size/resolution to the average person? I'm going to say looks. How sleek/light it is. It seems that's what Apple concentration. Sleekness/Resolution.

I think most don't care as much about 3D/color/contrast/hz etc. Most people of course. I for one want some decent contract/black levels.

What you say is that Cena didn't want to put Sony over, and that's why they're going down?

I didn't necessarily mean it as a bad thing. :D

Everyone owes it to themselves to watch these two matches. They are amazing and one of my favorite matches of all time.

So how was Raw last night? Worth looking up on Youtube?

The beginning is great, then Punk and Jericho part and the end you should look up.

Also, Dean Ambrose better debut today because all his tweets are slamming Mick Foley:

Dean Ambrose‏@TheDeanAmbroseReply

Fun morning trying to explain gross barbwire scars and excessive nerve damage to #wwe doctors,#thanksmick

Dean Ambrose‏@TheDeanAmbrose

Btw..I have zero fear of reprisals from the office for wat ive said about mick foley cuz nobody high up in #wwe has any respect for him.

Come on man, you can't be snooping around like that. It's wrong!
Next thing you know you'll be calling out people's political and religious affiliations.

But if anyone want's to be into McMahonism..I understand.
"Do not covet thy neighbors wife..unless she's really hot."

Personally I am waiting for TripleHism.
All in due time.

I seriously can't wait for his debut. He is the reincarnation of Roddy Piper but a better wrestler imho.

That's insane. He'd be crazy over in the X division and sell masks for TNA. Although TNA is opposed to making money so I guess it makes sense to them.

I'm honestly glad TNA didn't pick up Generico. He would only be an X-Division guy and you've seen what happens to X-Division guys lately.

How does that rating scale work? Is that the maximum amount of faces you can get?

Ryback gets 17 McMahons out of 20, because a 10 rating scale is for peons and not enough to contain the awesomeness of McMahon, since he's better than everyone else. Ryback got the highest number of McMahons on his debut since Sheamus, who got 19 out of 20. His ascension to the world title will come fast.
