Take the invasion angle, take the Nexus debut, take anything that could have gone differently and just do some fantasy booking.

Alex Riley is just about the only person on the WWE roster who I can't fathom as to why he's there - he's a void of talent. In the best case scenario, he could be worth half of a Mr. Kennedy, which doesn't amount to a whole lot.

Random but I wish Smackdown was live. I haven't watched a Smackdown in months and it's all because it's taped. I just read the spoilers in 2 minutes and then that's it. Smackdown needs to be live. I believe there was a rumor it could be eventually.

Ah. I don't really see a monster build in the cards that would put him in a position where he'd be booked to throw Brock around. His stalling slam over the top rope on Big Show got a big reaction at my #Safe WrestleMania viewing party with lapsed fans. It's going to be hard to recapture that momentum.
Cesaro has that kind of promo in him? Has he touched the mic since kicking off the #TalkingEra with his 4 ropes promo?

Idk. No one on the Supercard of Honor show. I think it is possible for ACH to become something pretty good if he gets to work with more guys like AJ who will beat a solid story/pace into him. He's not going to get better doing 6 man spot fests. Dude needs the NXT or NJPW system to help him. There is no room for improvement at ROH for him.

I will contend that X-Pac was the best worker of the Attitude Era until the Radicalz jumped and Kurt Angle found himself. In 1998-1999, he was the best. And he was over as FUCK. Second most over babyface depending on what Rock was doing. Even ended house shows and a PPV doing the beer bash with Austin. X-Pac heat wasn't a thing until he turned on Kane and DX reformed as a heel group that kill everyone but HHH's momentum.

It has its moments of greatness like any other promotion, but I totally get why you would rag on the SCOH9 production values. The show looked pretty damn bad. They could maybe justify it by saying it's a house show or whatever, but even then, they're going to show two matches from the show on television, which is pretty embarrassing, even if they are advertising it as a "road rage" episode.
As for the other things you mentioned, the wrestlers work hard, but I will agree about the lack of stories and mixed wrestling quality. I think it's unfair to say everyone is terrible, but there is something lacking in terms of psychology from many of the wrestlers and matches. They're more like rapid fire action flicks with occasional botches.
I do wonder if ROH knows that they've got their fanbase locked in and are content just catering to that fanbase without much interest in major growth. I doubt it based on comments by Joe Koff. Still, they can't seem to get past their current niche. The going theories are that Sinclair doesn't care, and the front office doesn't have the necessary organization to go to the next level.
