The number that has been thrown around for them to break even is 800k. Of course there will be losses at the start but the whole Network is an investment.

But given the hassle I don't think breaking even is a victory.

But, eventually they'll make good money out of it. Hopefully since I don't want this to go away. It's a great deal.

I think everyone should wait for WWE's first and second quarter results before attempting to break down Network vs. PPV revenue, overhead etc. Will definitely be interesting to compare and see how the math is working out.

If Bryan is still champ, do you think they'll even have a 2nd quarter?

They want to reach 1 million this year, which would mean they would already make a profit. Also it's a number that will continue to grow especially once they launch it in more countries. You have to take risks for a greater payoff. That's how business works.

Someone said something in the WM30 thread that got me thinking.

Since Taker/Sting is off the table, most likely, maybe Wyatts/Sting?

What is to gain from Wyatts/Sting? If the Wyatts win, congrats, they beat a 56 year old man who had never been in WWE before. If Sting wins, why the fuck would you have Sting beat the Wyatts? Seems like a net negative to me.

WWE playing a dangerous game, especially if their broadcast negotiations are still ongoing. Vince has incredible testicular fortitude to be giving the ball to a smark hero in this perilous time for a billion dollar company. Stockholders already getting nervous before the ratings tank. Brock is the safety net for this experiment.

Global Force Wrestling sounds like some shitty generic toy line that you'd see at Albertsons or something.

I was lsitenting to the LAW this morning from last night's show and I disagree that the whole Sting/Taker thing is over now with Taker's loss. A Sting/Taker matchup didn't need the streak to hype it up, and being that Sting has never been in the WWE, the streak means nothing to him. It's wholly dependent on whether or not Taker wants to keep wrestling, and if him dropping to Brock means he's done, but from a hype standpoint a Sting/Taker matchup can still be huge for WM31. Then Taker can retire and be immediately inducted into the HoF in his hometown at WM32.

Yes, I understand that.

I'm speculating about its success not that you need to risk to be successful. You can also risk it and lose it all.

The network, yeah. I think a significant amount of people out there don't get the concept (dmczaf mentioned a place he was at for a ppv, nobody understood what it was, thought it was a tv channel, etc) or don't use the internet like people should.
It's okay, our flight attendants The Bellas will show us how to access the WWE Network with one of our many devices!

I'd say a large percentage of the WWE Universe know computers as "that thing you can use at the library."

Yeah, I'm thinking Brock's winning the strap(s) soon.

WM32 is in Death Valley, CA?

GFW featuring Jhon Cena, Brick Lesnar, and the Funeral Director.

If the rumors of Kurt Angle being the star of Jarrett's promotion is true, it immediately loses all credibility with me. No one should be enabling Angle to put himself through this shit anymore.

If DBry should hold the title for more than 434 days, anyone who says it's not a way of saying 'fuck you' to Punk is a fool. But of course that won't happen. Next champion will be either Lesnar or Batista at Summerslam.

But where would Kurt Angle feel safer than under the watch of a promotion started by a reality show starring Jeff Jarrett and Karen Jarrett? Who used to be Karen Angle?

Jarrett's GFW also has reality TV elements showing the lives of the wrestlers you love seeing!! Jesus Christ, isn't it bad enough how involved wrestling fans try to get in the lives of these people? And you want to feed into that you fucking shitbird?

God Jeff Jarrett, you're stupid and I hate you so much.

The best thing you've ever done in your entire life is get fired on TV when Vince bought WCW.

Not joking.

Not every fan of wrestling is a hillbilly without a clue how them there computers work

But every hillbilly without a clue how them there computers work is a wrestling fan.

Anymore on this? I haven't heard much about the promotion other then CMT being interested. I would have assumed Jarrett would get Styles to be the star considering hes young enough and cheaper than most you could put in that position.

Styles just signed a contract with NJPW. Doubt he'll be starring on another televised show. Not in any serious, meaningful way.

Now hold on just a minute, playa. Total Divas is rad. The men are actually the best part. A Jeff Jarrett (and no doubt Vince Russo) worked reality show with a roster of TNA rejects, ROH rejects, and guys from random Tennessee/Alabama indies sounds excellent.

From Meltzer a month or so ago:

Even though Kurt Angle is sending feelers WWE's way, most expect him to end up as the lead star for Jarrett's group, as despite the heat they once had over Jeff having an affair with his then wife Karen while they were separated, they are now back on good terms. With TNA still in cost cutting mode, Angle, who is now their highest paid wrestler by far, is unlikely to be offered the same deal to stay with the company, while WWE may still hold resentment over how he left their fold in 2006 and it's also highly doubtful that their doctors would even clear him to wrestle.

The Jeff Jarrett/Kurt Angle relationship is genuinely one of the strangest things in modern wrestling. Did enjoy their feud where Jarrett put children in kneebars though.
