Are Naughty Dog going to remaster Uncharted 1-3 for PS4??

Easy money for Sony, but if tlou is anything to go by, remastering them would be hell x3 and would take a significant amount of time and thats if naughty dog was doing it.

Id rather they just concentrate on making new good games instead of redoing old good ones and making subpar new ones.

I hope so. Never got a PS3 but I plan to get a PS4 someday. Would love to be able to play more of the 1st party heavy hitters I missed when I get one.

Why? People want to play games like UC 1-4 on one system.
Agreed. And UC2 in 60fps... Oh my God, just the thought of that...

Yeah, they should just hand over the tools and procs from TLOU:R to Bend Studio, set up a helpdesk and that's it.

Bend is working on their own PS4 game. If anyone that's not ND is doing it (and honestly, I don't think ND is because they're too deep into Uncharted 4 development at this point), it's going to be a porting studio (i.e. Bluepoint).

Maybe not Naughty Dog, but seems easy money for Sony: maybe someone else like Bend (2nd team?) can port them to the TLOUR PS4 version of the engine and maybe tweak a few things like some textures, some models or the lighting and to make them 1080p 60fps.

Anybody remember that tweet between Neil drukman and some one from blue point when drukman said something about how difficult converting code from ps3 to ps4 is, and the guy from bluepoint responded by adding that it is extra difficult when you are converting code which is not theirs originally, to which drukman responded with a smiley face.

There was discussion back then that they were possibly talking about an uncharted collection.

I think it would be downright idiotic for them not to port the Uncharted games. Especially before UC4 comes out so new Playstation gamers can get acquainted with the series.

ND has two teams. I don't know if the team that made TLOU is making a new game or not, but if they are, they're probably not too deep into the programming and asset creation phase yet. Those people, assuming they haven't already been moved to UC4, can work on porting UC1-3.

These game will work wonders at 60fps. Although, I can never ever got through the fact to how that botched-aim system in UC3 went under the radar for most reviews.

Its all about resources

And time is the most limiting one

if that means waiting one extra year for a new IP like TLOU, I would much prefer for that port to be done externally

I'm actually really curious to see how they would treat Drake's Fortune in a remake/remaster. Visually it's a lot different from 2 and 3. And I actually wonder if they would change it or leave it the same. Not sure about the Drake's Fortune picture but it's pretty much this.

Way too late.

It's ridiculous to release a UC Collection and UC4 within 2-3 months of each one.

???

Impossible for an E3 announcement, a July release of the collection, and then UC4 in November?

I'd say we'll either hear about it this December or like TLOU Remastered, it'll be announced early 2015 for a summer release.

Heh, well a Summer release is pretty much what I had in mind.

I think ND don't really work on a 2 team basis anymore.

Especially after the letting go of the original U4 leads, I think they're closer to a one and a half team studio (i.e. two sets of leads and a bunch of coders/artists to switch between the two teams as necessary).

I'd take that remaster as a given. It'd be stupid not to do it.

Probably they did TLoU remaster first to:
- Keep the GOTY momentum to push PS4 forward
- Prepare their "PS3 remaster engine" for their most visually complex game, so they can just port the rest of the games easily.

Must be a really early build because Uncharted 1 looks nothing like that.

That's how they operated originally. But it seems like it's only Bruce and Neil who take the leadership on game development at Naughty Dogs nowadays after Amy and Justin left.

As much as I loved Uncharted 1-3, and the remaster of TLoU, I think it's time to move on. I hope they spend 0 man-hours on a remaster of the PS3 Unchcarteds.

In response to the OP question, I hope so because I haven't played any of the Uncharted games. And it would be nice to have them all in one or two discs.

I think it would be too soon (not really sure why I feel this way but I just do for some reason) but I would definitely buy it if this ever came out.

No. Move on and create new stuff. Amaze us with the possibility of the new hardware. Stop rehashing the same stuff. IF i'm in the mood for Uncharted2, my PS3 is not going anywhere.

Isn't that U1 picture from some pre-release promo material? Drake looked better in final game.

Why do you want devs from studio Bluepoint to starve? You monster.
Porting uncharted games to nextgen should IMO be offsourced to studios who only exist to make such ports.I don't see ND working on them.
