Are there any games you are EXCITED for on the horizon?

Maybe I’m just in a bit of a gaming slump. There are still games I want to play that have already released, but they feel pretty few and far between. It sort of feels like the gaming landscape has changed in such a way, I really don’t see much of anything *I’m* interested in on the horizon.

What’s coming out you guys are hyped for? Not “that doesn’t look bad” or “I might give it a shot”, but genuinely EXCITED about?

The lack of hype in this place is insane. Greatest trilogy in all of gaming finally gets a sequel after 18 years, and it’s here in a few months. 6+ years in the making, it is going to be glorious.

Haven't been gaming much the past few months, but GTA6 and Death Stranding 2 are definitely on my radar.

6+ years with one gameplay trailer is development hell. I love the Prime trilogy, but that was a long time ago as you said.

But Light no Fire is the clear winner on my personal hype meter. If they manage to transition everything (NMS) well into a full sized fantasy world the potential is off the scale.
This is it for me as well.

The updates they're making to NMS give me hope.

Closest would be a GTA VI and a Remake of another Resident Evil or Resident Evil IX plus Tides of Annihilition are probably the closest ones around late this year or early next year. I'm actually looking forward to Skybivion and Skywind but don't know if they count since they are fan made.

Elder Scrolls VI, Fallout 5, and Witcher 4 are still too far away. Plus other great smaller ones like FFVII Part 3 and Stellar Blade 2 are also 2 to 3 years away at least.

6+ years and they put out a beautiful remaster and a simple port. Retro has been busy, they had to hire a lot of staff, and they don’t use Unreal like 80% of the industry does. On top of this, they probably had to build up a Switch 2 version. Game is gonna slay.

Can't think of anything that is on the horizon. Light No Fire I guess but not sure when that is coming and ANIMAL USE PROTOCOL but that is not coming until 2026.

The First Berserker: Khazan demo was excellent, so I’m excited for that to come out. Past that I don’t really care yet because I’m drowning in games I still need to finish. I’m about 50 hours in KCD2 and still in the first area, so that will take me a while. RotR comes out in four days and I’ve been looking forward to a replay with everything cranked up. I still have Indy to finish, Monster Hunter, Metaphor, Unicorn Overload and Romancing SaGa 2 remake.

There is way more games than time at this point, I need to retire to catch up.

An Absolute Desaster
Could be an age thing, but I don’t play much anymore and there are not many games which I am interested in playing anymore, however the following still excites me:

- Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3
- New 3D Mario game
- another Silent Hill Remake
- Resident Evil 9
- GTA 6
- New Like a Dragon Game (proper main entry ; loved 7 and 8)

Says a lot about me, or maybe the industry, my most excited for is a DLC...

The Lies of P DLC. Probably my favorite souls like game out there getting more stuff is a win.

Hmm for me will be:
Mafia old country
Atomfall
South of Midnight
Clair Obscure: Expedition 33
DOOM
Crimson Desert
Wreckfest 2
Arc raiders
Battlefield
Outer Worlds 2
Doom

Assassin's Creed Shadows

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
GTA 6
Ninja Gaiden 4
Omimusha: Way of the Sword
New Virtua Fighter
Showa American Story

Besides the obvious big games like, Death stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, Mafia, etc, here are some smaller games I am looking forward to-

Hollywood animal
You are a studio owner and you manage the studio, make movies, deal( bribe, torture, kidnap, etc) staff, make movies( planning the overall story layout as well), make facilities, manage movie release and distribution( paying bribes to ensure only your movie releases at that time), etc.

The bustling world
Probably the most ambitious game I have seen till date. It's pure sandbox. You can play as whatever you want. You want to be an assassin? Go ahead. You want to be a cop? Go ahead. You want to be a magistrate or a noble ? Go ahead. You can build homes, destroy other homes, kill NPCs, rob them, marry their wives, etc.

The farthest frontier
It is a very detailed city builder. The early access feedback has been great and the full release is planned for this year. It looks great, plays great.

Roadcraft
It's a sequel to snowrunner. Now, instead of just trucks, you drive almost every single heavy machinery imaginable. You lag down roads, construct bridges, etc. it's an ultimate fantasy game for kids who grew up playing with heavy machinery toys.

I feel like nothing is that exciting, not because none of the upcoming games look good but I'm not convinced on them yet.

Doom Dark Ages swinging in a different direction has left me a bit cold on it. I liked Doom Eternal but I feel like going back to what made 2016 great would have made me more excited. Hope to be happily surprised again!

I would be pumped for Metroid Prime 4 but the trailer didn't do much for me.

I'm also hoping that there's some "wow" reveals this year. I think that'll come from Nintendo this year.

Stellar Blade PC. Been wanting to play it again but am forcing myself to wait. The release after edging for several months will be bliss...

For new releases in the next few months there's really just Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree. Love me some 2d Souls-likes and the demo was great. Plus the story is written by Brian Mitsoda.

For releases in the coming year (supposedly) without a firm date there's Showa American Story, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Ninja Gaiden 4, and Crimson Desert.

Can't decide if this game is ultra manly or severely autistic.
