Fucking out of stock, all I hear is people have no money this, Kier Starmer that, yet cunts are out here smashing there dole money on a controller.

As I didnt get one, can someone do the KFC test on theres please.

It's hard to believe that 30,000 (possiby) controllers could sell out in what seems just under 30 minutes. Especially a controller that has middling reviews by Valves biggest fans. Blunty mentioned something about not getting charged a shipping fee or tax on the one he managed to get. Just base price. Anyone experience this? Not sure what country he is in. Could that be the problem, the ordering process was screwed up, and they shut down orders as soon as possible?

Don't give me hope.

Has anyone here have their Steam Controller packaged or shipped? Mine is still on the "Processed Payment" stage. Wondering if I'm in the first wave or not.

Mine is also still stuck at the first step. Technically, I ordered a minute before it officially launched, so I should be in the first shipments. From what I've seen on reddit, though, the "packaged" and "shipped" updates are from people in the US. I'm from EU.

Mate I'm not over that yet, that was wild

Hey if you don't like it, don't use it.

I see plenty of people wanting Super Metroid remade with the hold down shoulder button to fire missiles function from later games, which in my mind is more egregious since it's totally replaced the old method.

I shall buy one when it becomes available. No games on the Horizon that really call for it. Probably not the ideal controller for Horizon 6

I don't know why they always do these releases at like 1:00 PM on a work day. I couldn't get away from work and they were out of stock once I got there :messenger_crying:
1 PM (East Coast) is literally Valve time. Announcements, most new game releases, sales events etc. (although I believe a publisher can publish whenever they want, most stick to 1PM). I believe for Valve Headquarters that's 10 AM.
I can only guess is Valve may be more laid back then most workplaces and most people role in 2 hours before lunchtime (noon) and that is enough time to sort these kinds of things out. Nothing to be done about it, they can't accommodate every time zone. I'm sure at Valve you get to go home at 5 or 6 most days.
Notice nothing ever happens at Valve Saturday-Sunday (at least externally) but they probably have the store on some autopilot and check the receipts on Monday.

It's funny you brought this up because every time I notice its 1pm on a weekday, I wonder if something new is going on with Valve. LOL!!!

I want one, but I don't need one.

So I will definitely get one.
Ended up not getting one or attempting to get one.

The thing that held me back is that it appears to be almost exclusively for Steam. It doesn't have the flexibility of Xbox controller or dualsense.

So yeah. Not upset.

You're not wrong, but it may be worth knowing that as with any other controller you can set up in Steam Input you can set a desktop config i.e. a non-specific config. This is by default set up to be standard kbm navigation actions, but it can be whatever you want it to be.

With my DS4 I set a standard Xbox config with the touch pad as a mouse. It works pretty much everywhere that accepts a controller without having to worry. It doesn't mean launching everything from Steam, just having it open. I think there may have been one or two times I had trouble, IIRC with old RE games (so presumably more old/quirky games would have issues). But for everything else you don't know the difference.

Looks neat, might buy one later. TMR sticks and extra grip buttons are tempting.
Scalpers are such disgusting creatures. Jail. Right away. People who buy from them should be shamed and ridiculed, as well.
