Are you interested in buying a $399 Xbox One without Kinect?

I'm glad MS is moving in the right direction lately (even if it's only out of necessity) but I do not think they're making the right move here at all. I'm trying to understand this and I just don't.

I believe they should have went $400 with Kinect, or $350 without.

At $400 without Kinect, they've now removed the one big thing that made the Xbox One unique. So they're left with a technically inferior console at the same price point as the PS4.

Just as bad is that you now have the same Xbox One with Kinect, still at the $500 price point! They're avoiding dropping the price, which is absurd imo.

So I'm basically looking for people that think this is actually good news. Does this make you want an Xbox One more than before?

Yes. I would also like a white console, but I imagine one will come later.

Also exclusives alone makes a console unique IMO.

Still all about the games. And right now, and actually even this fall/winter, there is not enough to get me to dive in for either console.

Not really. The 360 was a good choice for me last gen because it had better multiplatforms, OS, controller and online experience. The PS3 was good to also get as a second system because it had a lot of great exclusives.

But now the Xbone doesn't have those benefits, and the PS4 still has more exclusives. Buying the Xbone as a second console wouldn't make sense.

I have no interest in Xbox One in any configuration, at any price. I am done enabling Microsoft's vision for the games industry.

Still love me some Visual Studio, though.

Yes. Now that the price is right, I need a few games that interest me to come out. Hopefully Halo 2 Anniversary is one of them.

Honestly, the only thing at this point that would turn me is full compatibility with my current Fanatec wheel and pedals.

Price is still too high! $399 seems like more than I'd want to pay when you consider just a few weeks ago some retailers sold the TF bundle for $399. Not many, most did it for $450, but that $450 price seems to be the going price now, so really I'm only saving $50 and I'm not getting TF or the camera? May as well spend $50 and get the dumb camera because I was going to buy TF anyway.

That said, they'll have me regardless of price once Gears of War is ready.

If it has a few games I want, sure. I was already willing when they decided against the whole DRM thing, losing Kinect and more importantly dropping the price is just icing at this point.

No.

I already own a PS4 and this price cut is doing nothing for me. Maybe next price when there also exclusives around I am actually interested in, but then I also always remember the shit they wanted to pull...

Much more than I would have been. There is actually a chance I would consider buying one now but they have to deliver on the games.

Not really. I'd buy it at £349 with Kinect. Regardless I won't be buying an XB1 until it has a vast backlog of worthwhile exclusive titles to play.

No, it's still too expensive for a 2nd same gen console just for exclusives. Maybe down the line @ $200 when this console race is already over. E3 is just around the corner though...

Sure. Not right now though. Maybe at the end of the year when Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Halo 2A, and Forza Horizon 2 hit (if they do)?

With all the sales that have gone on MS should have really looked into $400 w/ Kinect and $350 w/o Kinect SKUs. $400 for just the console really isn't much of a deal.

No.

I mostly play Japanese games, and the Xbox brand isn't exactly associated with them, the odd exclusive and multiplatform game notwithstanding.

Smaller unit or when Sunset OD comes out sure. Love having all the consoles but never cared for kinect. PS4 is great and gives me that PS1 feeling like they care. Still have a place for Xbox so yeah this fall why not.

This is coming from a 60 gig day one buyer.

No.

If I hadn't already bought a PS4 I'd probably be back on the fence. But I don't game enough to own more than one console anymore, so now it's moot. Kinect being forced in was the main thing that pushed me to PS4 though.

I am interested, but I will not buy until I see a lot of games that I am interested in. It is a step in the right direction; I did not consider it at its previous pricing with Kinect.

A price drop doesn't make me interested in getting a second console yet and this certainly doesn't change me not having confidence in Microsoft providing good exclusives for an entire generation.

No thanks. While Kinect was the reason I traded in my 360 and became a Playstation supporter I am quite happy with my PS4 and don't see a need to buy a second console. It'd take a stellar lineup of exclusives to bring me back.
