Are you interested in buying a $399 Xbox One without Kinect?

Not right now. Since I have a PS4 and most of my friends switched this gen, I'll be sticking with it for multiplat games. I'll get an Xbox once it builds up several exclusives that I want.

Atleast for this generation they lost me completely so nope i wont forget what Microsoft tried to pull.
If they dont try to fuck me over again next gen i will buy the next xbox..
Another reason is there arent even games out i want for ANY next gen system lol :/
So even with the pricedrop the ps4 has stronger hardware at the same pricepoint.. which means the xboxone even with the pricedrop its still not a good deal for me.

I'm sorry, what? People are faking that they're interested in the price drop?

you could get it for that anyway... so SUDDENLY people say.... WOW thank god now i`m getting an xbox one...it`s only now that microsoft dropped that price aswell. Online shops did it weeks ago with "special sales".

most of them probably already have one and want to help Microsoft to sell more. That`s what a fanboy does ! no matter what, they are behind their console/actor/superhero etc.

Almost.

Killer Instinct got me interested from the start, tbh.

Though I won't slam 400 bucks on the table just for this. Bring in more game that will make me feel like I absolutely need them and I'll crack one day or another.

Nopes, who knows what they'll release in another 6 months. The only thing I would like to play is Sunset Overdrive, but not so much that I would buy an xbox one for.

And it seems like more developers are getting tired of their backtracking and PR disasters. The Xbox brand just isn't cool anymore. It's becoming the Chrysler PT-Cruiser of consoles...

I have a PS4 and will get a new PC next year so not for myself.

However, my father has been looking at getting an XB1 so this will probably push him. And then I'll get to use it for any exclusives :P

Not at all, I'll get a gaming PC and a PS4 down the road, a kinect-less $399 Xbone is essentially a weaker ps4 for the same price, no VR solution, no track record on free monthly games, and a worse first party in my opinion.

So the majority opinion seems to be "no". I kind of expected that but I wonder how it'll do in the actual marketplace? Sometimes GAF lines up with real world trends, especially lately.

Nope.
When MS shit the bed last year at E3 I pretty much determined that PC/PS4 was going to be it for me. Unless they have amazing exclusives I want (unlikely, since I prefer Sony's library), I won't ever consider buying it.

No, the 400 dollar deal without the Kinect is a ripoff.

The kinect is worth like 200 dollars on its own, so at most I should be paying 300 dollars if they remove the kinect.

Not at all.

I'll never pay for PS+ and XBL Gold simultaneously.

Besides, between my PS4, Wii U, and handhelds, there's nothing I need an Xbone for.

Unfortunately there seems little point in buying one this gen. I have a decent laptop and a PS4/PS3. Unless they do something drastic like remove the paywalls, beef up the system and get a buttload of exclusives then I doubt I'll bother

I never intended getting an xbone with kinect.
I guess I find the new version slightly more appealing.

However I'll never get one.

I've sworn of Microsoft products since the rrod debacle, and their clear intention to push drm via online only US something I assume will cone back one day.

I just dont trust them at all.

And even with that said, there isn't a single announced game for the system that appeals to me at all. I know some will turn up, probably at e3, but so far the lineup is incredibly pathetic.

I need to see the games for it. I already have Titanfall on PC and most multiplatform games perform better on my PS4. At the moment I can wait until another price drop happens or a real big name drops for them.

Just like the OP I would have also preferred a $400 box with Kinect included. In the past few months I've becomes interested in using it for voice commands and video chatting so selling the system without is no longer an interesting proposition. I'll buy an Xbox One once they have way more games I'm interested in available and when I get it with a Kinect at $400 or less.

Depends on the price of the Kinect on its own. Honestly the bigger news that may push me into buying one is no longer neading to pay for the privilege to use Netflix on their systems.

Maybe if they have the good games I wanna play.

Halo 5 returning to what made Halo great in the first place,Crackdown 3,Some other good looking exclusives.

Nope.

I know I'll buy one eventually but nothing announced so far makes me want to pay $400 for it when I already have a PS4.

Now ask me again if that rumored Platinum game is announced at E3 and I might have a change of heart.

i think at launch it would have been worth it but without the pre-release build up the relevance has worn off so at this point without the hype and build up neither console is worth $400 during this lul. maybe after E3 or another lead up to holiday release calendar hype things could change.

i've been spending most of my own time on pc games, gaming forums and watching garbage on twitch for a gaming fix.

additional thought: the only console which seems somewhat relevant in terms of its exclusives games library is actually Wii-U. so if i had to buy a console i'd go with that but thats if i even wanted one.

Not really.

Xbox One and PS4 would have to both churn out some really compelling software at E3 for me to consider them, and I have a feeling that both Microsoft and Sony are going to trot out a bunch of stuff that doesn't really appeal to me come E3.

I'm hoping to be wrong. This is the first time I haven't been excited about a console generation and it kinda sucks.

Its a step in the right direction but no, my PS4 will suffice. If Halo 5 is some brilliant return to form then Id consider getting it at $300-350 range. Failing that, an exclusivity on Shenmue 3.

Not until I see a game or games that I really want to play.
I'm interested in Sunset Overdrive(Colorful game, Insomniac, etc.), but I've still got reservations.

It's not about the price for me, just the games. Some day I'll buy into it, but not until there are exclusives that interest me. (this is also true for PS4).

Nah, I'm still going for the PS4 when I enter this generation. Right now, I'm alright with the PS3 only. Microsoft's suite of offerings just don't appeal to me.

Nope. Sony's message has been clear from day one, they've basically set the precedent for this generation, and Playstation has always had a very solid library wherein my interests lie, and I've always had a Playstation machine. I didn't own the OG Xbox, nor the 360, and likely will not own a Xbox One either.

So the majority opinion seems to be "no". I kind of expected that but I wonder how it'll do in the actual marketplace? Sometimes GAF lines up with real world trends, especially lately.

Have you heard the good word about the Vita. my friend?
:'(

I actually just joined Vita-Gaf and dig it but I can understand why the device isn't doing well

Depends...

Titan Fall bundle is $499...so thats 50 for a game and 50 for Kinect. Assuming Kinect will be more than 50....might be better to get the current setup with a game included.

If you just want to save money on the console....might be better to get it with no Kinect.

I would go for the Titan Fall bundle myself. At the same time....with no Kinect it does make me want to get it more just because its cheaper.
