I think they are keeping the store offline until the last second, because people are DDoSing the hell out of it.

So all these improvements - we're not going to see them in the standalone DayZ right? :( That'll take awhile to get used to.

I'm sorry but I hate that idiotic approach every. single. developer takes of doing one specific release time and THEIR SERVERS ALWAYS DIE!

Eh, I'm already getting tired of this shit. Think I might pick up the Steam version and then Valve can get a share of the money.

Got it on Steam, screw their store and supporter edition. You blithering idiots BIS, learn how to handle this properly.

Nice. I hope it works well! At least Steam is downloading it fast. Which is rare for me. I hope it's a good sign.

Bought it on Steam, never played an ARMA game, so not really sure what I am getting myself into here.

You let the hype consume you?!?!?!

I got it on Steam. Screw all this website error stuff. I can't wait to play this and Sim City later today.

Never really played ARMA before, bought 2 to play DayZ and had a play around with it then when I got bored of the mod, what am I to expect with online? Do GAF play it regularly or will you be playing this regularly?

Damn, only just from this thread I can tell how much impact DayZ has done to this game, with the same formula nobody cared about years ago.

Yup. I never thought I'd see the day people with no prior experience, impulse buy an Arma game. It's incredible.

I have next to no clue about this game, so forgive the nature of the question but I'd rather a gaf enthusiast to answer it as opposed to a random google search.

Is this game one of those crazy fucked up über realistic behaving operation flashpoint type of deals? Or is it trying to be a bit more on the user friendly side even if realism suffers a slight hit?

While some things have been streamlined, it's still uncompromising in its difficulty. If the realism turned you off of Operation Flashpoint, it'll probably turn you off with Arma 3 as well.

Made by the same guys who made Operation Flashpoint (2001), so yes.

Depends on what Operation Flashpoint you're talking about. The original? Yes, it's like that. Dragon Rising/whatever the other one was? lol.

Best thing you can do is search for a nice organized, dedicated community and become a member. They tend to be very friendly and help newcomers. You will get the best ArmA experience this way.
