Bought this and set it to download. I will be playing later today. I'm kind of hoping stuff like Wasteland/Sandbox modes get put in quickly, as I loved Wasteland mods in Arma II.

Furiously refreshing the Bohemia store without luck. I'm close to just grabbing it on Steam instead.

edit: Finally went through. Awesome.

Just purchased. Can anyone report in on CrossFire performance? Is CrossFire useless like in ARMA2?

I have a crossfire setup in my computer. I've played Arma 2 (DayZ and Wasteland), and i did have upgrade my system last week. Only had to purchased a new CPU, Motherboard, and memory.

My system:

- Intel Core i7 3770k (still with stock cooler, will replace it later)
- Asus Maximus V Gene Motherboard
- Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600 Mhz memory (will upgrade later this month to 16GB)
- 2x AMD Radeon HD 6870 in Crossfire (total Vram is 2GB GDDR5)

I will test my performance in a hour when i'm from work. Already purchased Arma 3 and installed in on my machine. I had a bit better performance with crossfire in Arma 2. Hope Arma 3 has better Crossfire/SLI support!

Mission pack : Tangodown ArmA 3 Alpha launch mission pack by Sacha Ligthert

Here they are! The first community made missions for the Arma 3 Alpha so you can jump in the action with your buddies (or alone) right away in some custom scenarios.
This first mission pack contains co-op missions, a singleplayer mission and also some Deathmatch missions.

Sacha Ligthert [TDNL] was so kind to sent us the ArmA 3 Alpha launch mission pack for the community to enjoy after the official Arma 3 Alpha release.

Quote Sacha :
These are just a few missions I could make in the little time that was granted in preparation for the 5th of March launch-event organized by Jerry Hopper at Tangodown.nl.

This pack features the following multiplayer missions:
Steal the Car (SP)
A BIS classic where one must steal a car from the OPFOR.

Destroy that Car (co-04)
Swim on land, sneak in to destroy a vehicle, sneak out. Can't be hard, right?

Destroy that Chopper (co-12)
A 12 man operation to destroy a chopper down for refueling and repairs. Uses UPSMON.

No Friends, Only Foes (dm20)
20 player deathmatch with the choppers current available in the Alpha.

Agia Marina Carnage (dm40)
40 player deathmatch in the town of Agia Marina.

Stratis Slaughter (dm80)
80 player COOP to take on random patrols on Stratis. Requires a headless client.

The Scuba mission was really cool, surprisingly large playbook of tools and an elegant stealth mission.

For some reason though, when I first took the RPG off the guys by the APC, it was unable to lock onto the Helicopter. Later when I went to the camp's ammo box and picked up AA Rockets, it could.

I wonder if this was intentionally, as it was really counter-intuitive to the mission's flow.

Are there real/unique gun reload anims? Super minor point, I know, but I'm very curious for some reason.

Well, in third person you can now see him grab the magazine, pull it out, put a new one back in and reload. It does disappear at the point where he grabs a new one but there's now a real reload animation.

Jesus the stance adjust system is fantastic, adds so much depth to the game.

It's the closest thing we'll get to Rainbow Six 3's fluid stance system.

In other news, cars actually feel like they're planted on the ground. Goodbye to moon driving!

That's all I ask for, thanks.

ArmA III Alpha Lite keys won't be distributed until March 14th, if I remember correctly.

And the Steam version will get them as well.

Is this new? Arma 3 2013 Sneak Preview Trailer. Posted today, not sure if it was posted here.

Edit: OMG, most important news of all: MUCH MORE NATURAL VOICE COMMANDS

Summary:

Overview of the different showcases (Infantry, Scuba, etc.)
Arma 3 Alpha will be supported/updated with "simple" content updates
Beta testing begins once Alpha ends; hope to make it public in the summer
Release still planned for Q3 this year

Looks awesome, not sure why the texture quality is so low though.

The lighting is amazingly natural looking and I love how there are no piss filters or other crap to fuck with visibility/functionality of the game.

This game is so much more than I would have ever expected, the new controls are so incredible I simply can't believe that this comes from BIS and the atmosphere / ToD settings are beautiful.

Shut up, bro, I got two more weeks working out of town :(

Would love to get together with Arma 3 GAF at some point.

I bought the Supporter Edition but I haven't gotten a STEAM key yet. If you browse their forums (when they actually load) it appears this is happening to a lot of people.

Once you understand the stance adjust, I promise you ... You will rock a stiffie.

Ha, I knew something like that would happen. Glad I skipped it.

Between that and a lot of little but much-desired changes (ragdolls, weapon anims, voices, etc.), I'm already there. Glad they took the time to touch up the infantry experience.

The weapon models also look spectacular compared to vanilla Arma 2 (they got better with expansions). HNNNNGH

I wish I could swap weapons while moving. Sigh. I need to start writing down things I want to get implemented before release.
