Video with the Supergirl bit (potentially crossing over?) seems to have been removed.

Otherwise, show might be called 'Legends of Tomorrow' and it'll go 13 episodes.

A report on Tuesday indicates that Shipp was probably not too far off during his Q&A session. To differentiate from TNT's Legends, it looks like the CW may be rolling with Legends of Tomorrow.

In the world of modern TV spinoffs, sometimes the name can be just as important as the subject matter involved. When it comes to the upcoming heroes-and-villains offspring of Arrow and The Flash, one unofficial name has joined another, as the latest rumored title for the star-studded spinoff appears to be Legends. Will that be the one that sticks?

The potential reveal comes from the star of both the modern Flash and the 1990s Flash, John Wesley Shipp, who gave an amusing and spirited Q&A at the Cape Comic Con 2015 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. What’s more, he doesn’t say it as if it’s a reveal, but almost too matter-of-factly. When asked about how deep into the Allen family storyline the show might go, Shipp says that producer Andrew Kreisberg & Co. have been planning everything out from every angle, which leads to this:

You guys know about Legends?…Firestorm…Victor Garber’s gonna be on it. Wentworth Miller. Captain Cold. They’re doing 13 episodes of that.

So, not only does he seemingly put Legends out there as the official title, he says that it’s already being planned for 13 episodes, which is a little more than half of the season orders for Arrow and The Flash have been. At this point, he’s the only one saying those things, so we’re taking it with a grain of salt.

The first tentative title the spinoff had was The Atom, which made it sound like the show was centered on Brandon Routh’s high-flying superhero, but Kreisberg soon shot that name down, saying it wasn’t real. Legends actually has ties to the DC Universe, though, as it was a major crossover event following the classic Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline in the mid-1980s. That one also had a slew of other heroes involved, so that would be a great hint at even more major comic characters hitting the small screen.

Something that might butt heads with the name Legends is the fact that TNT already has the Sean Bean-starring series of the same name, which will get its Season 2 later this year. Now, the producers could always choose to go with DC’s Legends or something like that, following in the footsteps of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Marvel’s Daredevil. But that’s still a little too close.

Shipp also seemed to confirm that CBS’ Supergirl would definitely crossover with the rest of The CW’s DC shows, something that has been talked about but not cemented. Check out the rest of Shipp’s Q&A in the video below.

So now we wait to see if anyone shoots Legends down immediately, or if it will perhaps last until production gets underway. Do you guys like that better than The Atom?

Error

Jealous of the Glory that is Johnny Depp
Supergirl crossing over is the best news here, my interest in that show went up exponentially.

Supergirl cross over makes sense now especially since

They revealed metahumans existing outside of the particle accelerator and central city

With The Flash and Arrow, CW has mastered mediocre, inoffensively adequate television. I am moderately excited for this spin-off.

Oh boy

Let's do this

CBS better learn to Hulu.

Frreal their site is garbage.

So 13 episodes
Launches mid-season
Likely running concurrently with the second half of Flash S2 and Arrow S4
Cross overs between the three shows are guaranteed
And potentially Supergirl to boot.
So then question remains
When are they gonna start a Society?

Hope they're not stretching themselves too thin. I feel like Arrow has dropped off while the Flash soared. Excited for Supergirl though.

The Flash is comfortably above mediocre, no argument for Arrow though

Arrow started above mediocre too. Then it stopped putting up appearances. The Flash is close, you'll see.

Agreed Flash started very strong. Arrow is just an average show, with the occasional good episode. Season 3 has been very mediocre though. Excited to see how the TV universe expands though.

This sounds good. A 13 episode series will lend really well to the show having a tighter season with episodes more plot dedicated rather than needing filler and having plot threads drag on due to a 23 episode season. I'll be surprised if a Supergirl crossover actually comes through considering her show will be on an entirely different network.

All I'm waiting for now is some Titans news.

maybe for you. I originally dropped Arrow because it wasn't any good. I recently gave it another chance because of the flash cross overs... the first season... still mostly garbage, only the last couple episodes are remotely interesting. Start of second season, absolute garbage, once
slade
shows up in the city is when it finally gets interesting. Overall I am not minding the arrow, (I'm on early season 3 right now) but I wouldn't remotely call it good at start, it had a lot of growing pains that took 30 episodes to get somewhat out of them. The flash might falter come season 2, that remains to be seen, but season one should at the very least be solid.

As for the spin off, I am hoping it's more light hearted like flash, as flash has been fun from the start.

I am kind of hoping the 13 episode order is the norm, and the characters in general just cross over into arrow/flash a lot as a 13 episode order would likely free them up to do 5+ cross overs into the other shows.

Will confirm tomorrow.

However, TheSpinoff(tm) was targeted towards midseason anyway, so that's a common order.

Yeah, but they have Jane the Virgin which is like, really fucking good.

arrow sorely needs that, it's running on fumes at this point.

I think flash can get by with 15-16.

Yep, definitely agree. Flash hasn't had the issues to the degree that Arrow has, but Arrow is in the third season. Maybe Flash night run into those issues next season.

13 episodes is ideal. Arrow basically spent the entire first half of this season having its characters mope around doing next to nothing.

There's little-to-no chance that Arrow and Flash do anything less than 22-23 episodes per season for the rest of their run.

I liked the last few episodes, basically since
Ra's became more involved
. The show did lose a lot of steam after the flash cross overs though. Next episode looks good.

It's no season 2 Arrow but it's way above the first half of season one. I don't think the flashbacks are helping this season though, even though I like the characters in the flash backs.
