The show has some good character actors as peripheral characters.

It's an action show. When it's fun and good, it's being a TV action show, something that there isn't much of anymore. It's on CW though, so half the actors or actresses are playing it like it's a Soap Opera.

Let's be honest, none of them are good.

You watch this for the action, muscle, tight costume and school girl outfits.

We need to rise above this shit, I just don't know how. So sick of suffering through terrible performances (all over TV, not just in stupid CW shows) for the sake of populating shows with pretty faces. Shit happens in almost every show I watch and it sucks. Dunno how to vote with my dollars aside from just dropping shows whose fucked up casting I don't agree with but that severely limits my entertainment intake options.

Also, I still like this show, even though I think it's bad on a base, technical level, unlike a lot of shows that I fervently watch even though I actively loathe them (I'm looking at you, Dexter).

They know their demographic, the types that'll still tolerate less than stellar acting if it's mixed with awesome action and sex. I know I still do.

yeah the female actresses on this show all suck, sorry boys

huntress' quivering joker lips were freaking me out

..and bulging eyes. I kind of saw a little Hugo Weaving there in the face :/

still hot though. would do/wouldn't kick her out of my bed etc etc.

Yeah it is a fun, but dumb show. It kind of sucks that good actors like Tamoh Penniket from BSG are just getting bit parts while these very stiff actors are getting the leads.

I was so excited to see him appear on the show and then so disappointed to see what happened to his character.

i thought The Huntress was fine. surprisingly great chemistry w/ Oliver too.
its not like the rest of the cast are great actors either so im surprised she's getting so much hate.
and to say she's not hot? well come on guys...

anyway, definitely the best episode so far.

Oh my, Huntress was horrible in terms of acting, and IMO she wasn't that hot. She was cute though, strange mouth, it's like she was forcing a pouty look the whole time.

Good episode though. Show's ramping up, excited to see what happens.

Finished tonights as well just now, really think that was the best episode so far.

Still to much chest hair.

No such thing. This isn't One Direction in Arrow.

She was a terrible actress, the worst on this entire show, which is really saying something. She looks like a beat up Liv Tyler from 10 years ago. Johns' script wasn't that good. You guys wanna kiss this show's ass a little harder please?

Crazy talk.

Definitely agree with you on this one.

Just caught up with the episode.

What are you all on? Helena/Huntress was great! Hilarious cross-fades at the kiss at the end asides (though I dug that track). Also didn't think they'd get to the making out portion of their relationship that fast. But I thought that Ollie and Helena had really good chemistry at the dinner scene at the scene at the end.

Is Ollie a hypocrite? I mean, he offed two dudes at the same time Helena murdered the psycho who killed her fiancee. Come on, dude. Chill. You're not some heroic beacon of justice quite yet.

I did like Jessica de Gouw here though. She is damned pretty. She also had an odd accent. She had an accent, right? I wasn't going nuts?

Also, awesome to see Walter back. Cool guy. So Captain Jack is not only Tommy's dad, he a complete asshole. I must admit though, Tommy and Laurel are actually a pretty good couple. They got chemistry and seem to be having fun. Let them stay together and let Oliver and Helena be together and let's be free of this romantic relationship melodrama.

Alas, we're on the CW.

Good to see Detective Lance stopped taking his psycho pills and is gradually coming down off his high.

Hey, wait.

No island flashbacks this time. What the hell!? Where's Badass Chinese Island Guy!?

Anyways, awesome episode. Probably gonna go hunt down some Tumblr gifs or something.

Only thing though, Tamoh Penikett deserved more. He's a great actor, but last couple of things I've seen of him seem to love killing him off fast. He got blown up in Castle and he got throat punched to death here. I could have seen him being a decent recurring villain. But at least White-Haired Martial Arts Lady made a comeback.

This show moves so fast. So next week, sexy power couple Arrow and Huntress takes on the Triads?

Ollie didn't kill anyone, he knocked them out.

Ollie didn't kill anyone, he knocked them out.

No, he killed them. He used one as a human shield that got blown apart by gun fire, and then he snapped the other dude's neck. Detective Lance and his partner are talking about three bodies immediately after that scene (he says it can't be Arrow because there were no arrows at the scene and it's been a while since Arrow's broken someone's neck LAWL).

So yeah, he killed them. I guess the human shield guy is debatable since that was self-defense. The other dude knew his identity, so yeah he's also fucked.

Ollie's fucking killing fools left and right, I love it.

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear that Arrow is being a bit of a hypocrite there but it looks like they're gonna be explicitly dealing with it the next episode.

This show is pretty cool.

but it's not revenge killing. if in the course of a fight something may happen where someone gets killed. provided there are no other means of course. Huntress is going out and killing people and who cares who gets in her way like Ollie's Mother. it's wrong to involve innocents in your personal vendetta.

I do hope that Ollie doesn't start getting knock out gas arrows or taser arrows or stuff all the time out of nowhere. Arrows are meant to kill and maim, I kinda wanna keep seeing all the violence.

Maybe something's wrong with me. Oliver needs to be molded into a more precise tool.

What does that have to do with what you said? You said Ollie knocked them out... which is the opposite of what he did which was to kill them.

If we're talking context of killing, that's a different topic altogether. I'm just saying, those two dudes that were holding him prisoner are now pushing up daisies.

Yeah, they're doing a good job of addressing issues like that. Diggle's character seems to exist primarily for this purpose.

Yeah, but while he kills people, he only kills bad people. He would never endanger an innocent, which is what Helena did when he almost killed his mother.

So yeah, it's a very thin line between them, but it's still there.

Also..lol at this sociopath face followed with ultra-fake smile with the whole "If you hurt her I will snap your neck" :D

Zap2it has confirmed exclusively that David Anders will be making the leap to Starling City to do battle with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) in episode 13.

Anders won us over as Sark on "Alias" and cemented his place in our hearts as the dearly departed Uncle John on "The Vampire Diaries." He can currently be seen on "Once Upon a Time" as the mysterious Dr. Frankenstein.

On "Arrow," Anders plays Cyrus Vanch, a new threat to Starling City. Vanch is a ruthless career criminal who is released from prison after a long stint. Of course, as soon as he's got his freedom, he goes right back to his nefarious ways.

Laurel (Katie Cassidy) is particularly invested in taking Vanch down. When she discovers that the police can't get him off the streets, she turns to the Arrow for help. Unfortunately, the cunning Vanch is one step ahead of them -- he's looking to take control of Starling City's criminal underworld, and in order to prove himself to the lowlifes, he's got a mind to eliminate the man criminals fear most.

(Yep. That would be the Arrow.)

Naturally, things don't go as planned, and their attempt to bring Vanch to justice puts both Laurel and Oliver at risk, for very different reasons. Vanch is unlike any foe Arrow has faced, and he presents a whole new challenge for our hero.

I loved Sark. I hope Anders brings his A game.

I don't think they'll stop him from ever killing anyone, but between his bodyguard and now this I think the writers have actually crafted an arc showing how Ollie went from vengeful single-minded killer to general hero who maybe considers things a bit more before taking everyone down.

At least that's where I hope they're going with this.

No, why would they?

Also who plays Tommy's dad and how old is he? He barely looks older than Tommy's actor.

John Barrowman.

He looks pretty much identical to his time on Torchwood. Dude does not age.

Barrowman is 45 IRL. He looks 45 as fuck. The actor that plays his kid is 30. He looks 30 as fuck too. This is just terrible casting. Barrowman looks good for 45 but he looks sufficiently dad-ish, just so does Tommy.

I lol'd at this. Barrowman looks like he could be his stern older brother.

The new casting is pretty neat.

well yes I stand corrected, those two are dead. however the circumstances in how they died are different. one man was shooting at Ollie and he reacted by shielding himself with the other guy (who was not an innocent anyway) Helena on the other hand killed Valati and that other man and almost killed Ollie's mother and could have hurt more while getting away. Ollie has killed but he is trying for something big, which is save a city. Helena is on a personal vendetta that is hurting innocents. the opposite of what Ollie is trying to prevent.
