No more Arrow till season 2

This summer... it's Lannister's turn to play.

NotTheGuy, I think maybe you need to... *Amell pause* ...take it easy.

Wow, I'm really impressed with how they ended the season. Took some balls and provided some interesting prospects. Other than some of the shitty acting from the lead, this was a really good first season. There are very few shows that come roaring out of the gate like this.

Just watched the finale. Good stuff overall, but I was hoping for more Slade (I am always hoping for more Slade).

Pretty shocked that House Merlyn was extinguished and House Queen was left unscathed. A few weeks ago I would have placed money on Moira dying.

And I must say that Roy's superior flip is not sufficient for redemption. Nor can he be forgiven for leaving Teen Wolf at such a crucial time. This grudge shall see no abatement.

I am very excited for Season 2. More Felicity, more Slade, less love triangle (hopefully).

I wouldn't say unscathed. Ollie is going to be damaged from his best friend dying in his arms tonight, it must have been something he said... Moira is going to prison, Walter peaced the hell out, and Thea is wondering if Roy made it out at all.

Caught up. I'd be lying if I said that it was one of the show's finest moment. Actually, I believe it was the first one to leave me with a meh-face since the first couple of episodes. Ollie's escape was a bit silly and there were too many "good thing I just came by" coincidences, what with Digg saving Ollie's ass in the last moment and then Thea doing the same thing for Roy (don't get me started with him).

On the plus side, seeing the entire Merlyn family collapsing was quite the surprise and I had some mean laughs at Tommy dying like a fucking BETA. Simp till the bitter end.

Now that Merlyn is gone I hope we get to see more of Helena.

The ms surface product placement is so blatant. It just reeks of desperation. Anyway, Slade would make an awesome Solid Snake if they ever made a movie. Don't know if I'll follow season 2. They tied things up pretty well.

On a plus side though - all of Arrow's villains are using Thinkpads :D

Helena will never be more than a guest star. Well, certainly for a while, since the actress is starring in the new Dracula series.

Which is probaly for the best. I like this character (even with wooden acting) and she has far better chemistry with Oliver than Laurel, but at this point making her regular or semi-regular wouldn't work. She needs to pop up from time to time, screw shit up and have angry sex with Hood and then leave

I forgot about that!

That dick.

Not sure if it has been posted in here yet, but Amell was the guest host on "Geek Time", a show on Sirius Satellite Radio, on Friday. He said that we've seen the end of Malcolm Meryln but possibly not the Dark Archer. He said Malcolm has been "killed" in the sense that he has been discredited and won't be able to show his face in public. Enemy number one and all, but that doesn't mean that the Dark Arrow might not return.

Watching The Vampire Diaries episode with Stephen Amell. Pre Arrow days. He got super buff for Arrow, he's a lot smaller here and was also smaller on Hung.

I doubt Ollie would have let the guy who killed his father and destroyed/is going to destroy (don't remember if he took him down before the earthquake) part of the Glades live.

so you're saying there's a chance...

because i enjoyed seeing Merlyn give Ollie that work on a regular basis.

Well, there was some speculation since he told Tommy that he didn't kill his dad. I know some thought that he said that because he didn't want to hurt his feelings as he was dying, but others wondered if maybe it were true.

I'm just reporting what Amell said by the way. It was straight from the horses mouth.

Yep, like I said, it's straight from Amell. The host of the radio show asked him straight out if Malcolm was indeed dead.

He was also really good in a couple episodes of New Girl from a year or so back. I remember at the time, someone said something like "that guy's getting his own show." I think that was the first I ever heard of Arrow, and the rest is history.

Well, I guess it would make sense, since Merlyn is one of Green Arrow's main villains. Having Tommy become the Dark Archer would have made a better story, IMO. :(

Agreed. Playing it out over a couple of seasons would make it all the better when it was revealed. Was hoping Tommy would live just for that payoff.

Yessshh series redeemed.

On the radio show interview that I mentioned above they talked about the fact that Amell plays three versions of Ollie. He has to make all three unique and distinctive which can be a challenge. They are Island Ollie, Billionaire Playboy Ollie and Arrow.

Man, Amell's acting is the worst thing about this show. Everything else ranges from okay to good to great.

Finale was excellent though.

Really? Willa Holland's acting is infinitely worse.

I love Amell's acting, especially the douchebag Ollie.

Amell is actually a pretty great actor, I think. I love all the versions of Ollie he portrays.

Especially Island Fratboy Ollie. Best Ollie. I love his sarcasm.

I found the crown jewel of fanfic. Enjoy!

The prison cell was cold. All Moira Queen had to keep her warm was a raggedy blanket. She heard the loud echoes of the guard’s footsteps outside. They stopped right outside her cell. What could they want?
“Queen, you have a visitor.” The guard said. The gate opened and they came in and cuffed Moira and led her out of her tiny cell.
The walk to the visiting hall seemed to take a million years. She was curious who had come to visit her. She had no visitors at all since she was imprisoned. Not even her children had come, though she could not blame them after what she had done. The guard opened the door to the visiting room and led her in.
“You have 20 minutes.” He said as he closed the door.
She said her thanks and turned around to look at her visitor. Standing there was her son, Oliver. He looked so much like Robert, tall and handsome. Her body began to ache and long for his touch. Come to mamma, sweetie. She ran towards Oliver and embraced him.
“I missed you so much…” she began to say until Oliver stopped her.
“Mom, I missed you so much.” He said as he held her staring into her beautiful eyes. He could see the longing in them. It was like she could read his too and he began to ache. He could not hold it any longer. He picked up his mother and threw her down on the nearest table and began to kiss her uncontrollably. Oh my! How I missed you Ollie, she thought with every passionate kiss.

calling amell a great actor for his different iterations of ollie is definitely stretching it. but he's at least improved since the pilot.

the roy harper dude has no hope at all. he's just fucking stone-faced. and thea sucks, but this fool is dragging her down even further with him.

I just finished up this series. I started earlier this month after seeing this thread then avoided it until I caught up. This was a pretty awesome show! Sure, the acting isn't the best, but I really enjoyed the action and it had surprisingly good fight scenes. Can't wait to see how Roy's story plays out! I thought he'd just be a cameo at first. Glad he's turning to a main character. OP said not to post spoilers about comic characters, so I'll just leave it at that.

Eh. We haven't been following that at all. Everyone knows what
Roy and Laurel
will probably eventually become. You can always just say *comic spoilers* and put whatever you want to talk about in spoilers.
