ARROW Season 2 |OT| Back in a Flash

Upon rewatching Season 1, I realized that Tommy was actually Oliver's 'love' interest in the sense that he was actually the person that Ollie cared the most and the one he was willing to expose his cover for. It was amusing to see Ollie went "I can explain" while Tommy felt betrayed after the revelation, complete with "I don't even know who you are anymore" convo. The drama between those two was more intense than what Oliver/Laurel could muster. Even Helena used Tommy as a leverage to blackmail Oliver.

Considering that, it makes sense why Tommy's death affected Oliver the most, leading him to his decision to go non-lethal in Season 2.

Now that... is a really good way of looking at it. Wow.

OG Black Canary will be the best Black Canary.

It only will go downhill from here.

she stole chris o' donnel's mask.

Also why does Ollie have make-up around his eyes? :\

He is a crazy person.

a clip from the next ep

features some incredibly cheesy dialogue (forgot how bad it could be), how Laurel apparently joined SWAT when we weren't looking, and Michael Jai fuckin White

plus another pic of canary:

I don't know man.
I'm still peed that Dinah is after Arrow, like, he didn't do anything wrong.

Anybody else have to suffer through SD for this show? Time Warner is the cable provider here in Cincinnati and it does not come in HD.

It's about time Oliver uses a mask around his eyes instead of that stupid green mascara. It'd be easier to take off too in case he needs to switch back into Oliver's outfit.

I wish we got Hulu here.

I really need to get an HD PVR. But it's like 500 bucks. Man. These decisions.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I love the paint. Masks look stupid. Unless Black Canary's wearing it.

The paint around the eyes is easier to emote with anyways. Masks are just... eh. I really prefer the paint.

I just assume he carries a bottle of water around and splashes it off when he's done.

It goes up the next day, or the same night, on CW's site. On Hulu's site, yeah, it takes like 8 days to go up for the free version which is pretty lame.

They should just CG the mask like Green Lantern.... That was the best part of that movie, it should be carried on like the DC torch.

Hey guys, started watching Arrow on Netflix yesterday...and I just finished the Season 2 premiere a minute ago. Awesome show, can't believe I missed it when it started.

So hopefully the introduction of superpowers this season doesn't seem too out-of-left-field for the series

I'm approaching it with fear and trepidation.

I think it's going to be treated like a rumor or myth. No one believes it's possible. Kind of how Batman considers Superman in the New 52

That approach would be interesting. The Flash as Urban Legend.

New interview with Amell:

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/10/...ging-superpowers-to-starling-city-in-season-2

These bits in particular caught my interest:

IGN TV: And one of the key things Ollie said in this episode was basically that killing people would dishonor Tommy's memory. Is it safe to assume that vow is something that's going to be pretty sorely tested over the course of this season?

Amell: Oh yeah, big time. Big time. Killing people creates a moral conundrum, certainly, but it's actually pretty neat and tidy from a logistical standpoint. If you're going to be presented with a villain who is trying to use lethal force on Ollie or the people he cares about, and he's not going to kill that villain, then what are we going to do with them? We're going to create a world where we might have a lot of incarcerated villains, but they're still alive. And we've seen through the course of the show that, if you're not going to put somebody in a body bag, they're going to come back and haunt you. It's going to create a bunch of scenarios where Oliver is more on a moral high-ground, but he's going to have to deal with those repercussions inasmuch as there are more people after him.

IGN TV: And it sounds like this opens the door for more recurring villains along the lines of Deadshot and Vertigo.

Amell: Absolutely. Very much so.

At least they're aware that having the fucking Blackgate/Arkham revolving door crap will come back to haunt Ollie.

Also:

IGN TV: I want to end off by talking about The Flash a little more.

Amell: Ah ha!

IGN TV: I've already talked about this with Andrew Kreisberg and David Ramsey a little, but I wanted to get your take on how the introduction of super-powers is going to change this world and what Ollie's perspective on that is in particular.

Amell: Well, if it comes to pass that superpowers are introduced, like most things on our show -- if not like all things on our show -- we will be surprised by how Oliver reacts to it. I think that the general assumption is that, if Barry got superpowers, it would be the first time Ollie came across someone with superpowers. And that's not necessarily true. I'm not worried about superpowers. In fact, I think that the more they get introduced into the Arrow world, it'll be interesting to have a situation where, maybe some people have superpowers, but Oliver doesn't have them. That creates an interesting dynamic for our show. I've talked with [director] David Nutter in particular about some of their ideas for the Flash-centric episodes we're going to have later this season, and they're fascinating. It's the same universe as our show, but it's viewing it in a very different place. And that's good. It gives it a chance to stand on its own.

Mysterious experimentation shenanigans on the Island confirmed?

new episode tonight

Identity

DC COMICS’ BRONZE TIGER AND CHINA WHITE WREAK HAVOC ON THE GLADES — Oliver (Stephen Amell) finds out the medicine that is being sent to Glades Memorial is being hijacked by thieves. Roy (Colton Haynes) attempts to stop the thieves. Oliver gets into a heated battle with China White (guest star Kelly Hu) and her new partner, Ben Turner, AKA the Bronze Tiger AKA Black Dynamite (guest star Michael Jai White), over the supplies. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) makes plans to catch the Arrow, and Thea (Willa Holland) gives Roy an ultimatum.

edit: damn, this thread's deader than tommy

Fuck he's like one foot away from laurel now, normally he does his best to hide his face because even he knows it's a flimsy disguise

Pretty good episode, nowhere near worthy of the amell hype this time though. Felicity and diggle were great. They need to chill on island scenes until they have more to say/do like the odyssey one

Black Canary already the finest chick in the show, plus she got dat arrow athleticism. Her being the best female character now hinges on her lines next week. I hope she doesn't flop like huntress lol

I don't understand though.
Didn't Arrow kill like, 3 people?
What happened to the "I'm not a murderer any more" thing.

Just can't wrap my head around how every single Fema driver is slaughtered yet there is never any sort of escort. Who would actually be willing to drive those trucks?

Some good parts but I still am not sure about this completely non murderous shtick

I love Pokken!
This episode actually made me become worried about the show because of two things:

-The no more killing rule: It makes sense for a hero being a example and sparing its enemies, but personally this was always a dumb comic book rule. Now GA really is "Batman with a bow".

-The love triangle in the island: My fears are becoming truth it seems, the whole scene with Slade watching Oliver and Shado was awful. If this is the reason of
Slade becoming Deasthstroke and Oliver's enemy it will be a major fuck-up

-erotic workout scene to start, of course
-Roy stole a nice car and totaled it and they're not pressing charges lol
-damn @ that dress
-Laurel going on a ride along with armed cops trying to catch a dangerous criminal. Makes sense!
-Diggle has the best lines lately
-so when Roy gets paranoid he just throws that arrow at random people's faces without looking lol
-I like Villain Laurel!

Main thing that bugged me with this episode was how silly the trick arrows feel. Use them sparingly. They should really look at Person of Interest where the lead doesn't want to kill, but he still shoots people in the shoulders and knees. It looks borderline lethal and horribly painful, but the hero can still act like he's a hero and not look like a cartoon.

It would be the biggest most garbage bullshit if that happens.

Another good episode. If you are going to enjoy this show you need to tell yourself that you are watching a comic book show on the CW. No sense trying to pick it apart of what's believable or not. Instead ask yourself if it's something you would see drawn in a comic book panel. Works for me and I thoroughly enjoy it.
