That was an amazing episode. Every actor and every character was on their game. Can't wait to see how it advances. The Tomorrow People also has me stoked for The Flash. Apparantly The CW can do superpowers, that looked better than Jumper. Amell wednesdays baby!

It also went a different direction than I thought it would at the end, that surprised me and made me more intrigued.

Same! I was ready to kind of give up on it until the little twist ending! Now I want to see the next episode.

Back on the topic of Arrow. Loved the season opener. As an archer though I have to say I'm not really crazy about the new "tech" bow. Looks like some weird made up hybrid compound/ recurve. Would have much rather seen him with something more traditional like first season.

Great episode, just curbstomps what SHIELD has put out so far.

Very nervous about this neutered Ollie, if it turns into every episode of him shooting guns out of people's hand it will kill the atmosphere this show has built up.

How would any "bad guy" seriously be nervous about him again?

I bet Sebastian Blood and Bronze Tiger get offed before the end of the season.
Al-Owal
, I think, will survive this season, but Ollie will put him down in the future.

Welcome to the Moira show. She rocked the fuck out of that prison uniform/ponytail combo. Yum.

But stupid "No killing" rules? Boooooo!

Early ratings have come in for last night's CW shows. Quote is from http://www.zap2it.com

On the CW, the season two premiere of Arrow earned a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating, down from last year's 1.3 adults 18-49 premiere rating but even with the 0.9 that last year's finale earned. The series debut of The Tomorrow People earned a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating, which matches the premiere ratings for Supernatural last year in the timeslot.

So right now Supernatural, TVD and Originals are CW's highest rated shows with Arrow right there with Originals and Tomorrow People just behind them.

Note: I highly believe Arrow will adjust up when finals come in and I believe Arrow will get great Live + 3 just like TVD and Originals do which will kick them up quite a bit. Right now I'd say Supernatural, Originals, TVD and Arrow are all locked to get new seasons on CW as long as they don't collapse... if Tomorrow People holds it should be fine also.

I really enjoyed the new episode, the comment about Tommy caught in crossfire was a little stupid but never mind.

Emily Rickards is still looking as hot as ever and even if the show turns to shit she is definitely worth watching it for!

They just need to stay steady. Hart of Dixie and abeauty of the beast both premirered with .4's.

Just because he won't kill doesn't mean he won't maim a person. Arrows still hurt and he will still beat the hell out of a person, break their bones, etc. Some might wish he had killed them in the end. The fear might not be death but fear of ending up in a wheel chair for the rest of your life and breathing through a tube. As long as he takes out the Jokers, the mass murderers, of the world then there shouldn't be a problem. Green Arrow doesn't have a 100% no killing rule in the comics I believe. So he likely isn't going to have one here.

I really thought he would kill the hoods in the slurry rescue...

Really enjoyed the season premiere. I was really worried that having Colton Haynes as a series regular would be problematic, but it seems like both Roy and Thea "grew up" from the events of the S1 finale.

I liked the copy cats plot quite a bit. I'm curious to see what they'll do with Glau. Whether she'll just be the "legitimate" problems that Ollie faces or if she'll turn out to be super shady too.

With the Flash coming in, I wonder if Ollie will have to deal with supervillains as well or if they'll keep crazy/human enemies in Starling for Ollie and the supervillains will migrate to Central.

Good overall to start the season. Did anyone else find Laurel extremely stiff, like more than usual?

Interesting that they are already bringing in Black Canary and STAR Labs.

But as an archer myself, his new bow drove me insane! It is still a recurve, but has cams and pulleys that do nothing. Just go for a compound or stay with a recurve dammit!

I feel your pain., but gotta keep up w/ Hawkeye or something with the clueless masses.

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
Just watched it, brilliant as per. So pleased it's back.

Loved the Flash reference on the TV near the beginning in the club.

Same. The ending I think is the only reason why I'll check out next week's episode. Wasn't bad or really good but the story direction it might go in is interesting.

I see they've kept the "let Laurel do something awesome only to be stopped a second later" lol

But anyway the premiere was AMAZING. I loved everything about it. Made SHIELD look irrelevant. Stoked for the season.

Yep. It made Shield humble. Does anyone have gifs or screengrabs of Felicity in that last outfit? And the writers are using this no kill rule to practice for athe Flash since his villains have that rule.,

When do adjustments come out again?

I wonder if Flash will end up having to kill someone. Unlike Ollie, it'd probably leave Allen broken for a while.

Which might be an interesting story.

This is such a silly statement. I remember a lot of people HATING the first 5-6 episodes of Arrow which I thoroughly was enjoying at the time. Nice revisionism of history.

The Tomorrow People was really great. Didn't have that many hot broads for a CW show, only the girl and the main character's mom....

Don't forget the best friend. She's actually hot unlike the mom.

Arrow>Agents of SHIELD

#TRUTHFACTS

I would agree with Season 1 Arrow being better than Season 1 SHIELD so far.

Arrow is certainly a better show at this point when compared with Agents of Shield, but the Shield pilot probably had better lines than all of Arrow put together. The greatness of Arrow to me is how gutsy it is. It's willing to have a hero kill people AND question it. It's willing to have people fail. It's not your typical show. Which so far Agents of Shield is.

Anyways yeah I enjoyed the premier quite a bit.

How could anyone expect a show about Agents of Shield (not actual super heroes) to be better than a show about Super Heroes?

Considering Arrow is in its second season and SHIELD is still in its first, I'm not sure why they are being compared.

Really great premiere. Nice to see Arrow moving along, like it never missed a beat. Not crazy about Ollie losing his blood lust. Serial killers don't just give up that easily. But, if he truly is going all pacifist, I hope he doesn't get a bunch of gimmick arrows. That would be the absolute worst.

I hope they never get Ollie with Felicity. Their relationship is perfect and would be ruined by forcing them into a romantic situation. Keep them as they are. I wish they would keep Laurel and Ollie as they are, as well, but I know that isn't going to happen. We're doomed to see that nightmare keep repeating itself.

The island stuff, as usual, was strong. That said, for an island in the middle of nowhere, a whole bunch of people seem to know exactly where it is. I'm just sad it will end with Ollie putting his arrow through Slade, and not in a good way.

Thoroughly enjoyed.

I was giggling because I always pause the episode right after it starts, and it's all 'Previously, on Arrow..." and we get this:

And I'm like 'Yep. Shirtless hot guys, chains, check."

I thought the premiere was amazing and I'm very excited for Arrow to be back!

I am very curious how they're going to handle The Flash, when compared to Green Arrow's "abilities". I'm sure Ollie will get a lot of upgrades but will they have to tone down Flash or else he might steal the spotlight from Ollie? In Smallville, Flash was compared to Clark so that is completely different. I'm sure they thought of that, but the Flash should be way more powerful and effective than Green Arrow in this show's setting right? I don't follow the comics so I don't know for sure.

What a great solid start, I am glad Arrow is back. What still makes me love about this show more than anything is how competent the writing is when it comes to the IT side of things (being in this career), and seeing all the little details is awesome <3

Oh Arrow, my guilty pleasure you.

Yeah I feel the same way, I can't bring myself to compare a show that's had 3 episodes all about establishing the characters/setting to something that is on its second season. Especially when the atmosphere of both shows is pretty different as well.

Also in regards to Laurel talking about Tommy's death I honestly just assumed she meant he was in the crossfire....figuratively. I didn't even consider it in a literal sense until reading this thread.

Shield and Arrow are going to be compared forever and ever because every time Marvel and DC enter the same arena, they absolutely have to be compared because one absolutely has to be the "winner."

That said, if we're going to make the comparison, at least make it fair to Shield and compare the first three episodes of both shows. I still think Arrow comes out on top. Its first three episodes certainly were not its strongest, but they made a better impression than Shield, which is pretty bland so far. I imagine it will be like Arrow and hit its stride somewhere in the middle of the season.

Flash is only gonna be in one episode, which is supposed to be the backdoor pilot to his show anyway. So any spotlight stealing he does will be totally intentional.

So what, he's not going to kill any more? I liked his no tolerance style of justice.

Arrow got no adjustment bump. =/ Survivor did though.

This is GAF people. Anything that can be compared will be. Consoles, 1st party titles, smart phones,... I'm tempted to make a Shield vs Arrow thread so GAF can get it out of its system. On the other hand, it might exacerbate things. On the original hand, maybe people done with SHIELD will give Arrow chance (in some cases again). Not sure so I'm holding off.

Eh give it till the end of the season. But SHIELD did bore the hell out of me, so I stopped watching after the first episode. I feel like Marvel's really dropped the ball lately by playing it safe, really wasn't impressed at all with Iron Man 3 either.

Iron Man 3 was the opposite of playing it safe. The rest of their shit films were playing it safe.

Seriously:
- the mandarin twist
- the whole middle act
- opening the film with eiffel 65
- giving pepper dat scene in the end.

i'm surprised they didn't kick shane black off the project but I'm glad they stuck with him.

The Mandarin twist was great, but then you're left with a villain whose reason for being a villain is absolutely awful. That drags the film down. Will spoiler the rest just in case,
Destroying all the suits seemed pointless, because he'll just build more so it's not a big shock, didn't really care for Pepper getting the deathblow, but also there just seemed to be no sense of danger, shit even Favreau survived. But like I said earlier the villain post reveal just ruined the movie for me. Maybe I've just grown tired of the Marvel universe.
