I'm taking a 3D animation course this semester and as our first homework assignment we have to find a landscape portrait that shows 'depth' as far as background, foreground, middleground, etc. goes.

Does anyone know good websites that have these kind of photographs?

http://www.corbis.com is your best friend for photo reference. It's worth signing up for an account. It's free and it removes the watermarks. Photos with a lot of fog really pronounce foreground, middle ground, and background.
