I miss Nintendo being remotely on the same planet in terms of power discussions. But in terms of the wars...I could leave them.

NBA 2k is still one of the most played games in the market... Congrats on still not being able to understand sales vs. playerbase.

Do answer my question though, do you still think it's bigger than Mario? Zelda? Animal Crossing? And how do you feel about the Switch being so successful? Does it physically hurt you?

Nintendo could be in a bit of a tricky situation now with XSX and PS5. I mean lets say Nintendo are making a 'Switch Pro', how powerful will it be knowing Nintendo?, XB1?, maybe PS4 level?. Hows that going to work game wise?. I mean Switch is 3 or 4 times less powerful than XB1 and PS4, and we have already seen how cut back ports to Switch have been this gen, but if a Switch Pro is 8 or 9 times less powerful than XSX/PS5, 3rd party support will probably dry up completely, or next gen ports will be out of the question at least.

This will never be an issue to Nintendo.

They don't market their consoles towards those kinds of games in the first place. They market towards accessibility.

That, and Nintendo's marketing was the original "SECRET SAUCE" of gaming, where the "SECRET SAUCE" was Nintendo themselves.

The only potential issue i can see for Nintendo is that the new consoles have reached a level of horsepower and capability that are going to allow features that Nintendo would likely try to cash in on, if only it fit their current marketing model. Notice how they've completely dropped the whole "Gameplay Gimmick" angle.

Motion controls? PSMove is infinitely superior, and Kinect was far more innovative. VR? Requires alot of horsepower and the PS5 alone is going to blow anything Nintendo attempts out of the water with ease, unless they threw money into making it work, which would put them in direct competition which they've been actively avoiding.

Their best choice IMO should be to stick to the "cheaper + portable" angle, something they have on lockdown and will probably keep on lockdown forever. They've crushed every handheld console without even trying.

I gave up thinking about it years ago but I would love a proper core console from Nintendo with a focus on some serious games. I would even take something Xbox One X powered but with a better CPU.

Cant blame them though, there isn't really room for 3 consoles in the exact same space.

From a console comparison perspective, I think it's more interesting to have a low-power ARM/Nvidia portable than another high power AMD/Navi console. XB/PS/PC are all more similar than different, so there's little mystery in how they stack up.

Looking forward to seeing what tech Nintendo/Nvidia cram into Switch 2/Pro/whatever. Also looking forward to Doom Eternal Switch and the the inevitable DF video lol.

no, console wars are terrible.

as a Playstation/Switch/PC player i don't really give a shit and find that it just makes posting on games in general a giant pain in the butt.

console wars turn every thread into a shitshow. there are games ive gotten into where i will make a thread and if i accidentally post the console i am playing it on, oh boy, look out, it's going to be full of people telling me all the bugs and why the other version is better and a bunch of consumer dickheads fighting for virtual territory.

its not interesting. its not even a debate. its boring and stupid.
