Yes, I've messaged him several times in this thread and PMed him to no reply to accept my GameCenter requests and get a game going. It's been like pulling teeth.
The game invite has now been accepted today but no moves have been made.
I'll gladly take 1 point for a draw to get this tournament moving.
I didn't notice this other thread until the tourney was well underway. Got no idea on the score against Sladeums...we're actually still in a game right now.
Sent (another?) request to soldat 7.
EDIT: Beat Sladeums in the game we were playing so I don't feel bad about taking that win.

Happen to know the score in that game? Your group could go down to a 4-way tie and points are one of the tiebreakers.

The leader point differentials being 86, 73, 101 and..... 10 is pretty damn hilarious LOL.

Yeah, it does look a little off. Overall, Astro is sitting on a raw PD of 62. If Heel beats soldat, his PD will be 39+game 5 PD. And for comparison, my per game PD would only be 20.
Shouldn't ties be handled in that individual matches are counted (then PD) ?
So if 2 players tie, their individual match is the tie-breaker. And if 3 (or more) tie, then their matches against each other are counted. And if still tied, then the PD is the tie-breaker.
To me that's more fair, since PD in Ascension is pretty much bullshit.

I agree with Brakara. Should a person finish behind someone of the same record if they beat that same person in pools? No.
If a 3+ person tiebreaker is necessary in which that system does not work, I think total points scored as a final tiebreaker makes more sense than differential.

Total points scored is IMHO even worse than points differential...
Let's just hope nobody gets an infinite combo going, because that ruins ALL the point-based tiebreakers.

I dunno, I think if it comes down it the tiebreaker should be based on what you accomplished, not what your opponents managed.
But hey, not that it will matter after I beat soldat.
IMHO, a 100-99 victory is much less deserving than a 99-0 victory (that's an example, you get the idea).
Okay I guess that makes sense when you put it that way, haha.
Hopefully we can get the data needed to work a tiebreaker if we need it. My soldat game is set for max if we need some extra days.
I'm under the impression that so far we've only played prelim matches to get seeding for the actual tourney.

Well you should come subscribe and join in the fun here: iOS Online Boardgaming Megathread, we are running tournaments all the time, not just Ascension though, so I hope you enjoy other games, or are willing to try them out! ...Or just wait till the next Ascension tourney, Im sure there will be another one soon.

Sorry just got home from vacation, a bit scattered. I was blue and he was red. I thought I posted it but the internet on the beautiful lake I just spent the week at was a bit spotty.

Yup, everyone hates his fighters!
I like him though, hes smart, he plays to win. Not his fault UFC needs better rules! It's smart to take advantage of the points system. People that complain just hate it because his fighters beat the fighters they like, haha.

14 day time limit in game is too long! its effectively 28 days if both people are slow or busy

Those green lights are pretty deceptive, though I do play a lot of Ascension and take turns at all times of day and night.
Yeah, that second match with sladeums went something like 74-55...still a rough guess. It was definitely 70-something on my end to 50 or 40 something. I do remember it being a decent, but not notable, lead on my part.

Yeah I was wondering about this as well. sounds like there will be 2 brackets. 1 for the tourney as a whole (top 8) and one per division to find a division champ (3 seeds). Does that sound about right? The confusing part to me is why does the lowest seed get a second chance against the 3-seed champ and/or how and if the 3 seed section relates to the top 8 matches.
I could be completely wrong about this.
Fine by me. Let's go with the 11 point difference on that one.
