Oh, and you can mute players, but you have to do it once the game has already started. You go Start --> Abstergo Agents --> press X on anyone you want to mute. There's no way to universally mute all players though, so if new people join that you want to mute you have to go back to the pause menu.

I just went to pay my £11.99 for 3 months and thought I'd double check it was definitely there. It wasn't.
When I go into What's New it shows as one of the featured PS+ items but when you click it it just takes you to the front of the PS+ store...
Indeed, the balancing features are things that, despite being under the hood, can make or break this type of multiplayer. And certainly, they did a good job with the balancing, as you usually spawn at a distance away from your pursuer, more pursuers are added as you rise through the ranks, the kill/loss streak bonuses, and as you pointed out, you get some breathing room as a reward for outwitting your pursuer(s).Dreavus said:So I've found that if your pursuer cancels their contract on you, it usually takes a little while for someone else to get assigned to you. This means when you're getting high up in the ranks (3rd-1st), you can go on the defensive while you have 2-3 people after you and not worry about your target for now (unless he wanders into your area). If you can lure them into killing the wrong guy and/or stun them without getting assassinated, you'll have free reign on your assigned target once all of their contracts get canceled. This makes it way easier to set up incognito kills because you don't have to worry about pursuers for a little while.
Interesting thing about canceled contracts is that they don't seem to go away for as long if your pursuer merely gets killed. I wonder if his killer gets assigned your pursuer's original target (which is you) to keep up the pressure on those in high ranks? I'd love to see a match overview timeline with access to everyone's contracts. :3
Good points.Zero-Crescent said:From what I've played (Level 18), I have to say that it has been a pretty enjoyable multiplayer mode so far. There's just something about this cat-and-mouse style game that appeals to me, though there's still room for improvements. I can't wait to see what the full multiplayer mode will be like, with more maps and characters.
As for those improvements, some of these are probably just beta quirks:
- Allow us to mute users during the waiting period. Nothing is more annoying than getting stuck at a waiting screen with users who love to hear themselves on the mic. Better yet, allow us to disable all voice chat or limit it (input and output) to friends during the Wanted mode, since that is just a deathmatch where unsolicited voice chat is more annoying than useful.
- Lock-on could use some work, since there have been a number of times where I am unable to lock-on to my intended target, particularly when I'm standing in a crowd, it just targets the NPC in front of me instead of where I have the crosshairs pointed.
- Likely just a beta quirk, but it would be nice to have a map rotation in place, rather than playing the same map over and over again until quitting.
- Of course, bugs, since there have been quite a few freezes and hang-ups, mostly during the waiting/loading screens. The only repeated hang-up place I've noticed is when I choose the Play Now option, then cancel the process before a game is found, it just goes into a load screen instead of going back to the menu.

Yeah they definitely need to work on that. It's very hit or miss but I've gotten it to work a couple of times. It'd be a really cool concept if it worked better.Minamu said:I can't get the stun counter to work >_< I clearly see the button above their heads, and I press the circle button, yet I die anyway![]()
At level 20, you get the Poison ability, which allows you to kill your target in low-profile mode without doing the whole assassination animation. Too bad it doesn't make them go nuts like in the single-player though. :lolAshour said:One thing I hated is the fact that someone can kill me while Im in the killing sequence. I cant move and I cant do shit, its not fair. At least give me a few seconds so I can take back the controls of my character and do something about it.
AFAIK, the beta was a Gamestop pre-order exclusive in the U.S.; they ran out of codes a while back. If you want to get in right now I think the only way left is to subscribe to PS+.grkazan12 said:I can't seem to find how to get a code for this beta, what store is giving away beta keys for pre ordering the game?

:lol Best scenario I've had so far is I was being chased by 3 different people and they were all 3 together in a line behind me. I cut a quick corner and dove into the haystack and got to watch all 3 of them run right by me :lolSephirothRK said:Got to try out the beta over the weekend. Very fun to play, I like blending in with my look alikes and seeing my pursuer killing the wrong guy:lol
One round I was on top of a roof with a nice view all around so I can see if any climbing the roof. I know they're after me when that happen, this monk climbs the roof and act like he's looking around too lol. I'm waiting there until he comes over and I tried to stun but got countered
There was this glitch I encountered, I was pursuing my target(I think it was a high profile so multiple assassin after same target) while target going up the stairs, at the top there was another assassin, looks like the other assassin got to her at the same time I got to him but I still got the jump kill animation(This is while the target is dead and sliding down the steps). So pretty much the jump kill camera is messed up focusing on the sliding body and next thing I know, I fall through the floor of the whole city and I can see the whole town while in constant falling animation. No luck to another assassin after me because they can't find me. Had to quit the match.
Some game problem, I'm sure everyone had. Game freezing ps3, game hang at loading screen when canceling lobby search.
I don't get how the stun works before you find your pursuer, I just mash circle. :lol
Overall, had some pretty fun experience.![]()
Do you mean Metal Gear Online (2)? MGO tracks everything.Darknessbear said:It seems like European (Ubisoft) developers don't really like statistics and don't track much. In a game like Halo, COD ect. they track every little thing a person does and alter accordingly. And they give you the ability to track your own stats/progression. But when I play a European/Japanese multiplayer game; MGSO,LBP, AC:BH - it's always disjointed and it feels like nothing is tracked.
Lol same experience as me! :lolJWong said:*patch starts*
Yes! They fixed things!

Shit...
:lol I've encountered that lag matrix, and one time I encountered another type of matrix, where the game begins, but the graphics don't change from the waiting area. Thus, I'm technically in the game level and can be killed and run into obstacles, but I still see the level as a empty white room with no characters walking around, forcing me to leave the session.iNvidious01 said:the matrix in rome

Full story mode that continues both Ezio and Desmonds stories, plus the inclusion of multiplayer mode so its basically AC3.Princess Skittles said:I know this isn't about the beta but it is the most recent thread so here goes..
So, this game is kind of an Assassin's Creed 2.5 that just also happens to have a multi-player mode and not a wholly multi-player focused title? I'm starting to get the vibe that this will be much more "required" or "essential" as part of the overall story over the DS/PSP side games. Also, the achievement list was just released and it seems like only 1/5 or so of the achievements are multi-player focused, the rest are typical story mode stuff.
Thoughts? Amazon is offering $15 credit for a pre-order and I'm close to pulling the trigger.

Well, I think obviously AC3 will be a different beast (new period/new character) but Brotherhood seems more than a mediocre interquel.Dirtyshubb said:Full story mode that continues both Ezio and Desmonds stories, plus the inclusion of multiplayer mode so its basically AC3.
Well i see what you mean, in the sense of a sequal would be with a different character/setting ect but from what they have said the main campeign will be at least 12-15 hours long (IIRC) plus Rome is bigger than all of the locations in AC2 put together so it isnt just a quick cash in.Princess Skittles said:Well, I think obviously AC3 will be a different beast (new period/new character) but Brotherhood seems more than a mediocre interquel.
