Assassin's Creed Brotherhood |OT| where my bro's at?

I'm really surprised there isn't much discussion about the new DLC.
Is most of GAF against the $10 price tag or something?

It's definitely worth the price, without a doubt.

By the way, for those who didn't get a chance to pre-order the game, you get the two Templar lair missions and the two multiplayer characters (The Officer and The Harlequin) with the DLC. It also came with a new outfit (and armor) for Ezio.

I haven't had a chance to play on the new multiplayer map, but the new game mode 'Assassinate' is quite fun. Oh! And the matchmaking problems have finally been fixed. The DLC is 1.40GB btw.

Wow, Ezio played that girl. I actually kind of felt sorry for her. lol

Couldn't finish the DLC, got too tired. But I think I'm close to the end.

Multiplayer is still as screwed. Barely can get into any game... even Wanted. But new fancy message that keeps coming up:

Just wrapped up the SP DLC. Good stuff; really enjoyed it. Took about four hours, but I played slowly and just relished being back in Rome.

Spoiler for the ending:
It is kind of funny how Ubi can't even end a DLC side story without a WTF ending, though it's far less baffling than the end of ACB's main story. Theories have already started. Map coordinates?

Also played both new sessions of MP. Assassinate will likely do just that to Wanted. I can't imagine many people going back to it. Scores were HUGH in the sessions I played. Escort was all right. Sort of in the same vein as chest capture.

And from what I've heard, all previous pre-order/collector's edition content is included too. So you can cover up the horrid Armor of Brutus with the Drachen Armor skin, and have fun as the Officer and Harlequin in MP. All in all, I definitely think it's worth the price.

I'm avoiding most launch priced games but I'm so on this when it hits Steam in <two weeks. Can't wait, really liked 1&2.

Btw, anyone who says the MP is finally fix is a straight up liar. Still busted as ever if not worse. Still takes forever to find a game, still super laggy... but the new characters are cool.

So, is the DLC worth it for just the singleplayer content? I may get it, but I don't really play the multiplayer.
I'd say so, but I guess it depends. The story is actually pretty decent, and there's quite a bit of variety in the new memories (beat-em up, tailing targets, puzzles, tomb-like environments, etc.). It's familiar territory to the series so it will probably seem easy, but you can always go for the 100% synch conditions to make up for it. Also, the DLC adds 10 new SP trophies/achievements, so if you're into that sort of thing, it provides a few extra challenges.

So I'm bemused, and it must just be me being a complete n00b because I can't find an answer ANYWHERE. I have downloaded and installed the DLC, jumped back into my finished game save and CANNOT for the life of me find the first mission to get this DLC going. The only thing I can see on my map that's vaguely related is the Leonardo War Machine missions that I didn't finish. Do I need to complete them before I can access the DLC?

Please help, this is driving me mad. I'm also extremely embarassed having to ask. I feel like the answer is obvious but... I'm stumped.

I have the same problem but on my game when I load up the main menu it keeps saying I need a update to access the new data.

Is there any way for me to trigger this update?

EDIT: DOH I just found this:

might help some people here, ubi really arent good at the whole xbox thing. :p

Cool. Thanks for the info. I think I will get it next time I grab a PSN card.

Just finished the DLC,
when you get to the final room Leonardo reads some coordinates off the wall, 43 39 19 N 75 27 42 W, which is located right outside of Turin, NY. I guess the assassins will be taking Desmond there while comatose? Ezio mentioned going after Cesare again, Leonardo mentioned going to work for Louis XII in France. Any ideas anyone?

Apparently:
The Da Vinci Disappearance takes place in 1506 - the year before Ezio goes to Spain to kill Cesare in Sequence 9. That's why he talks about needing to charter a ship in the DLC. (there's a discussion about it, here.)

I like this theory:
I believe the N & W take the - or + out of the equation. It's the middle of New York State, near a town named Turin...as in the Shroud of Turin, one of the artifacts referred to in ACII and further explained in Project Legacy.
What it's setting up is that the Assassins are taking Desmond there while he's comatose. We'll explore another ancestor (when and where we don't know, but Leonardo talked about going to work for Louis XII of France), but Desmond will be trying to get to an artifact at the temple revealed in this DLC memory.

The shroud has the power to bring the dead back to life...don't buy a coffin for Lucy just yet.

I'm considering going for the 100% synch achievement, but the Leonardo tank mission has left me wondering if I should pass on that. I didn't like carefully moving through the whole mission only to be onslaught at the end by a two-tank battle with no checkpoints in the prior twenty minutes. It left a sour taste in my mouth, and really was responsible for me abandoning a 100% synch effort in the first place.

Even so, the DLC is tempting. The MP is sounding like a nice break from Gears, but I'm still hearing conflicting reports on how well the matchmaking is. The SP is sure to be fun, though.

I actually liked the level and the tank objectives overall, but I completely agree; getting 100% on this mission is the scourge of the game. It's just ridiculous that you have to start the entire mission over if you fail the full synch condition, even the non tank stuff, to try for it again.

But if you're really set on getting 100%, there is a way to get past the two-tank battle at the end with no damage. It's sort of cheap, but then again, so is the mission. Here's a video. Out of frustration, I finally did it this way just last night. Took a couple tries, but it definitely works. Just make sure Ezio is at full health before getting into the tank and don't pull back too far or you will de-synch.

Thanks, I will use that method to get through it without much hassle. I've been brushing up on some of the stuff I neglected in my first playthrough... I skipped an awful lot. I'm finally up to 80% synch. I skipped damn near everything that wasn't a part of the primary narrative.

Been playing through the single player stuff and it's pretty decent. Got a lot of the achievements but they are silly ones that you can do in a few minutes if you have a save at the end of the game.

The MP stuff is cool too, I like the new characters but it's hard to get into games of the DLC exclusive stuff as not that many have bought it yet.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

Didn't have any real trouble on the two tanks, got 100% my first attempt. So long as you just do a wide continuous circle around the edge of the arena once you enter(focusing on killing one tank before the other), it isn't a problem and they can't really hit you.

I can definitely understand the frustration of going through the entire mission only to get hit at that final battle.

Damn, you did well, then! I still stuck with the glitch method. I even messed it up once because I didn't back up enough. I was afraid of desynchronizing, which is silly since it's easier to desynch and start from the checkpoint rather than restarting the entire mission from scratch when you get hit. It's a pretty foolproof method, and much less frustrating.

Ah, shit, went for the flying machine 100% synch and got shot on my second set of two carts. I think there was only one more after that. Sucks, too since I was prioritizing staying in the air rather than finishing a checkpoint since it was much easier that way. Up until I misstepped right at the end. I swear, I remember Ninja Gaiden Black being less frustrating than this. Think about that for a moment. It really boggles the mind considering how easy 99% of AC:B is.

AC2 question here!

If I bought the two DLCs, which are Sequence 12 and 13, when I re-do a full playthrough of the game, will they play instead of the cinematic telling me they are corrupted or do I have to finish the game to play them?

Also, is it the same with Da Vinci Dissapearance? Will it play during a new playthrough?

Uhm... wtf... this game is better than AC2.

I was expecting a major cash-in rush job and I'm pretty surprised how much better this is than AC2.

I'm about 30 - 40% and loving it. Some annoyances I have with the games remain, but they're pretty minor.

MP I only played for a couple rounds... it was neat for a minute but for some reason all my HUD information disappeared halfway into my first match. All I had was the blue compass, when just moments before it was feeding me all sorts of information (target's picture, number of pursuers, if I'm being chased) all that shit disappeared... I'm still only lvl 1... it'd be nice if I could get a couple matches under my belt before they rip off the training wheels. Especially since I'm getting fucking shot and shit by people with higher lvl gear... kind of soured me on it right out of the gate.

I was first place until the HUD vanished and then, after being completely lost for the last couple mins, I ended in third place. Next match HUD was gone from the start. So I turned it off and went back to single player.

This just happened to me, I was goin for the Grand Theft Dressage Achievement.

While I was on a horse, I wanted to kill the guy next to me, I jumped off to the horse next to me got stuck in the animation you see in the video and just went up.

I thought I shared this with you. :)

I had this happen once too. Sounds like the same thing..jumping off a horse and getting stuck, then up and away.

I've 100% synched the main game and have a little bit of the Da Vinchi Disappearance done. So far so good, and I've only got the GPS and il Principe achievements left (complete the DLC + 100% synch everything). I was whining about the other missions too much, lol. Getting 100% synch was a little frustrating at times, but I got the Flying Machine on my second retry and finished the timed Romulus mission (Wolves Among the Dead) upon my first retry with thirty seconds to spare.

I'm not sure if it was worth $10 yet, but I'm enjoying it. The Harlequins were tricky bastards to find, though, that's for sure!

why the hell did the game just make me kill Veronica Mars? I thought for sure she and Desmond would hook up in the end. I'm kinda pissed.

dont know if shes dead yet, just a stab wound so far. the reason why juno made you stab her is because she stands in the way of their master plan which is for their civilization to be reborn through a baby which desmond and another woman whom we've yet to see, are supposed to have together.

I actually really like the 100% synched trophy because it encourages me to approach the game in different ways... adds variety when I might be more inclined to play the same way over and over (and get bored faster) because it's most effective. But the game nudges me toward creativity and adds an extra layer of challenge.

That is, imo, the entire point of trophies/achievements and one of the many examples of this game getting things right.

I'm really impressed with Brotherhood.

I love the VR stuff too... yeah in this game the "assassin" can kill an army of guys and just slaughter all life in sight... kind of breaks the narrative a bit... but instead of shying away from it the developers are like "fuck it... it's a game... we'll embrace it... here's an arcade mode".

haha so great.

No, they won't replace the corrupted bit, but it's a good thing. The pacing of that story would really suffer if they did that.
They're also not very good, I'd recommend avoiding them. The audio mix in Bonfire of the Vanities is the worst technical mess I've ever seen.

On PC they are just inserted right into the game (they came with all copies) and you are 100% right on the ruining of the pacing.

I still really enjoyed them though.

It's been months to me, so sorry if this has been answered countless times in the thread but was there ever a fix for after you
finish the final subject 16 cluster
and tries to exit to the real world (that glitch where Desmond gets stuck in the chair and you're forced to login the animus again)? Is there a youtube link with what everyone says at that moment if you talk to them? Do they even speak anything different from what they'd normally say in that chapter?

Im curious about this aswell. I also want to see a vid of what happens if you complete the dlc missions before completing the main game.

About the AC2 DLC, I remember one of them being the best thing since sliced bread. The missions provide the whole 'see a target - plan how to get to him, and then assassinate him' style that most missions dont. Those are the missions that show how great assassins creed is so I do endorse the dlc. :p Its a shame theres not as many of those in the main game.

Does Da Vinci fuck with the pacing the way the AC2 DLC did? I'm getting the PC version next week and that has Da Vinci built in so I won't be able to play the game any other way (like console users who beat the game and then bought it after the fact).

I don't think it does. It's entirely subjective and psychologic thing anyways. Some people loved the AC2 DLC and thought it should have been in the game from the get do. Other people think it drags. Personnally I don't have a problem when the game is good like AC2 and Brotherhood (well, sequence 12 wasn't a really good sequence - too much fighting for my taste - but at least it gave insights on the characters and the world).

Finished the Da Vinci DLC and it was alright. More than anything though it reminded me of the poor performance of this game. They really need to get this shit under control for the next game. The controls need a revamp too, a free-running assassin should not control like a house.
