I'm usually not a fan of tutorials, but they really should have made the bomb-types tutorial missions mandatory.

I just recently did them at the end of the 5th DNA sequence, and looking back, there are LOTS of missions that were frustrating that I would have had no problems with if I knew all of the options at my disposal a little better.

So, it turns out that after a particular mission that upsets the Jannisaries your alert level is permanently maxed till you do the next mission. So every time you alert a group of guards one of your dens gets attacked.

Now 6 of my dens are under attack. Thrilling.

Also, have they explained anywhere in any of the fiction why Assassins have the ability to have a nice long talk with their targets after they've stabbed them in the head?

Forgive my ignorance I can't think of the word, how do I get rid of the red square thing? It was simple in the last few games with the poster removal, now I see no way to do it.

Ezio and Altair are descendants of The Ones That Came Before. One of their abilities is to temporarily isolate themselves from everyone else. When Ezio or Altair stabs somoene, they harness that power and it allows them to speak to their victim momentarily before death.

Bribe heralds. You'll see their icon pop up on the map whenever you're close to one.

You can still take out Witnesses too... Or are they called something else now? Templar Officials, maybe?... Anyways, if you get rid of them, you'll lose 50% of your notoriety.

In the last two games, they would walk around normally, then turn tail and run if they noticed you. In Revelations, they're escorted by two Templar Guards, and if you're detected, they'll all attack you.

What I like to do is throw a Cherry Bomb when they're near some Ottoman guards, and they'll start fighting eachother. The Ottoman's are pretty much sure to win, especially if there's a Jannisary amongst them.

[EDIT] - Also:
Yusuf! NOOOO!! :(

Finally beat it, with every guild challenge completed.

This will probably be the second AC game I replay more than once (the first being the original), just to try and get 100% sync and experiment with some of the missions a little.

Anybody have a full list of unlockable outfits?

I still want that damn turkish armor pre-order bonus armor. Since it's an outfit, Ezio will keep the mask on during cut-scenes. :D

Oh, and I LOVE Constantinople as a setting. It's got a wonderful flavor all it's own, one I've never seen or felt in a game outside... maybe FFXII had a taste of it?

It did. Remember the "Muthru Bazaar" in Rabanastre? In Japanese that was ムスル, which is also how they express the Mısır Bazaar in Istanbul (those short i's go into kana as 'u' sounds). I'm convinced that Lowtown was modeled on it.

So Ive been playing for 5 hours now, and ive heard minimal music. Is this normal. Ill be running through the city and theres no background music. Some tracks will come on during chase sequences, but theres none of the ambient background music. Is this normal?

Yeah, the music seems to come and go. Definitely seems like there's less than in the previous games.

I ran into a bug with this, if we're talking about the same mission. It was maxed and tells you to escape...but when I did nothing would drop the alert level. Died on purpose, tried again, everything was fine.

Also ran into a bug I thought was dead last time - parachutes emptying out in certain situations...

That's it for problems though; the only other really noticeable ones to me are just weird little collision errors. (There's a slight incline stair in the game world that you have to jump from the bottom of, for instance)

First time I ran into the parachute bug it was ridiculous, I climbed to the top of some tall mosque to show my brother how cool the city looked when I jumped off and floated with a parachute. Turns out I had 0 of them instead of the 7 I thought I had and I plummeted like a rock (sometimes it doesn't show in the hud and I didn't even think of checking since I wasn't familiar with the bug). There wasn't even a haystack around the area to make it less embarrassing, lol.

I never really played an AC game, but I want to get this one, do I need to play the other ones first or is this pretty easy to pick up and play?

I'm lmao, the same thing happened to me when I was showing my GF the city from the top of the Galata Tower, I inmediately put Dark Souls so she continue with that, lol.

Totally forgot how to do the flip over enemies after the tutorial. Can anyone remind me. Got a ps3. Thanks.

I would start with AC2. The story in this game will literally make no sense if you start with it.
Indeed, playing Revelations without the previous two games is like reading the last chapter of a book without reading the rest. Makes zero sense. Revelations was made for the fans.

I'd say youtube the first one (I loved it, but everyone here seems to hate it), and play 2 and brotherhood, they're dirt cheap new, Revelations will be $35 this friday, so you can get the 3 games for $60, I'm sure.

Hey guys I've been thinking of starting this after Skyrim since not knowing what happens in the latest AC game is irking me.

What have you guy's completion times been? About the same as Brotherhood? Didn't want a suuuuuper long game after finishing the Nordic monster of Elder Scrolls.

I've had an issue with music skipping back repeatedly, right where it seemed to be in it's transitional phase. I don't think it stopped until I reset the game.

Took me about 14 hours with a lot of goofing around. I think I had about 65% sync or so.

I have to say I loved the end as well. I liked this one a lot better than AC:B. I always loved one for the time period and setting, and I prefer this to the Italy settings of the last two.

Revelations was the first AC game that I was compelled to stick primarily to the main story cuz I was so hooked. Took about 16 hours for me with some sidequests done.

I think I had around 17 hours. Did most of the sidequest and had 85% control of Constantinople.

Alright, thanks Cre,Lik, and James. Sounds like a good length then. I don't think I'll be trying to get everything done like I did in Brotherhood but then again, who knows.

Concerning the Mediterranean Defense... Once you assign an Assassin Recruit to another city's Den, are they permanently stationed there? Can they also reach the rank of Master Assassin like those assigned in Constantinople? If you assign one of your current Master Assassins in Constantinople to one of the other city's Den, can you then give the position to one of your lower ranked recruits and then level them up to Master Assassins?

I didn't want to do anything I'd immediately regret, so I thought I'd ask... Even though trying it out for myself would probably give me the answers I need, and I'm going to be playing through this game's single player again. >_>

Start with AC1. Best game in the series.

You'll appreciate AC2 and Brohood from a gameplay standpoint that much more if you do.

Plus AC1 easily has the best characters and story of the series.

Revelations definitely made AC1 a much more important game within the storyline. I loved AC1 as well.

dunno, but there's a cheevo/trophy
I think that's just for the Sequences, not counting all the side stuff.

If there's anything beyond that, I'd wager it would be an outfit.

Speaking of outfits, I'm kind of missing Ezio's capes.

Disagree. The character are the worst. Altair is so bland. The gameplay is horrible. The story is bland. The only good part is the ending, but it's not worth playing hours of a such bad game. The whole is pretty bad. Watch the story on youtube or read a wiki. It will save you time and money.

if you read Altair's bio in Revelations, they actually said the old Animus program didn't do such a good job with the simulation. They sorta explain away the issues with AC1. :D

I just noticed this yesterday, but Ezio did briefly have some kind of cape with his Rev costume. He loses it before he fights with Leandros' men in the E3 trailer. Thought that was kind of a cool detail for them to include.

Are the Sofia missions sort of like the tombs for Altair armor in AC2? I've been focusing mainly on those lately and I'm wondering what happens if you ignore them? I assume after you exhaust all of the main story missions you're told to complete all of Sofia's before you could proceed?

I'm assuming they're mandatory to finish the game, like the Codex pages were for AC2.

You have to do those missions to finish the game. There are collectible pages you find around the city that unlock the (ultimate) armor though. That's separate from the Sofia missions.

Sofia missions are structured like this:

Find a Polo Book -> Talk to Sofia and have a mission with her -> Go to tomb to obtain Masyaf Key

They are main story missions. There aren't really tombs in this as side missions like in Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed II apart from the Vlad Tepes one that comes with the Signature Edition and the Ishak Pasha one that starts when you collect all of the Ishak Pasha book pages.

lol, I love that stuff. Like in AC2 when Desmond jokes about how adding subtitles to the Animus system was a big plus.

Asking this question for my brother. I'm not playing the game.
He is saying there in no longer any pigeon coops on the map and that in 4-5 hours he's only had a couple of side missions. Should I tell him this isn't Brotherhood and he's doing it wrong or is it a known glitch?

Is there an actual map you can get for the Animus Data Fragments?

Or, does anyone have any idea why random fragments around the map seem to get icons?

Every single bombmaking spot should have a coop.

Of course that's just for ordering your assassins, not for getting missions.

Or the warning about the German glitch... :D

A map automatically unlocks when you find and collect 50 on your own. Surprised me when I found out, but there doesn't seem to be any additional benefit to collecting them all, besides the Achievement/Trophy.

Or, does anyone have any idea why random fragments around the map seem to get icons?
When you view a Treasure Chest, or Animus Data Fragment with your Eagle Vision/Sense, it's automatically marked on your map. You probably unknowingly caught sight of some a few times while skippin' rooftops.

It's somethin' they added in Brotherhood. Did the same thing with Treasure Chests and Feathers.
