I thought Ghost of Tsushima was legitimately not AC in Japan.

Then I played it and it's every bit as mediocre as Assassin's Creed, just with better writing. Same for Spider-Man. Large and boring empty world with a bunch of icons, an average combat system, and repetitive design.

I feel like these games aren't that similar unless they've changed a lot about AC series. I only played Origins and Odyssey, but they were a lot different of an experience than Ghost of Tsushima. Both open world, sure, but everything else seemed a lot different to me.

GOT has much better art style. Although the lip syncing looks like junk.

AC Shadows samurai fighting looks retarded. Yasuke kicks people 50 ft away and can plow through stone walls like Rhino in Spiderman.

Shadows by default.

Better open world?

One of those game you can travel by boat, has entire seasons and those seasons effect how the Ai reacts to you.... The Ai understands light and darkness, like taking out a candle to be in the darkness can help the enemy not spot you, the ai understands sound as well, like rain can cover your movements and sounds, but snow can alert enemies to you.

You can swim underwater and even perform assassinations from water to ledge.

Never mind just saying who has the "better", folks can just prove it by actually listing valid reasons.

I say this as someone that bought both day 1. Right now, its AC Shadows by default

GoT - Better combat, better (albeit overrated) story.

AC - Better stealth, better open world, plus base building if you're into that.

At first, I thought Ghost had better combat. But once you have a full set of abilities, I give it to Shadows because you get way more weapons. I think variety is VERY important to keep the game fresh. Similar to Sekiro, I couldn't finish GoT because it gets boring too quickly. The graphics, weather, and overall quality makes it a landslide for Shadows in the end. I loved GoT though. But I wouldn't be able to go back now.

I'm not sure what's worse

Shadows locking cutscenes @30 fps
Or
Unskippable cutscenes in Tsushima

Both show that the developers don't know what the audience wants

Haven't played enough of AC Shadows yet, but one thing I know is that Shadows is easily a gen above GoT.

Doesn't mean I think one is better than the other, but I do think Ghost of Yotei might have serious competition this time.

Seriously? Like seriously? You must be 15 years old.

But congratulations, you found a typo. Now go outside and touch some grass

That's not a typo, it's a grammatical error, and one that is spreading like the plague around the web.

It's the new "could of", the new their/there/they're... and it needs to be cured before it spreads too much!

Grammar police? More like grammar hall monitor. I've seen your posts and they are shite.

Sit the fuck down kid

Worst kind of poster.
Who cares about grammar of some stupid foreign language on international forum

Too early to say for me.

I had a really good session on ass creed last night after thinking I was falling off it.

I'll keep playing and let you know.

I enjoyed tsushima but there was a section. Maybe the middle that I nearly dropped it. It started to grate on me with the monotony but then I put it down for a while. Came back to it and finished it. I remember I really enjoyed the end but the middle felt overly padded and boring.

Ass creed started slow and is setting the scene I think.

Naoe is cute as all fuck though. Hot ass ninja!

Plus I am a sucker for tech and the game looks that amazing that I am still being impressed by it.

I have played GOT more than 100 hours and Shadows 20 so far but I haven't seen much of the story because I am exploring the world

I would say that GOT has a better combat and writing so far. But when it comes to exploration, parkour, stealth, graphics and map design, Shadows obliterates GOT

I would say this is the case where people should stop comparing which game is better, and celebrate that we have two amazing games in Japan setting with their own strengths and unique characteristics

For me this is a celebration

They're just very different, it's like comparing TotK to Xenoblade.

If anything they are at opposite ends of authentic, realistic portrayal and artistic, idyllic beauty

Tsushima all the way. I played 10h of Shadows and I think im dropping it. Its genuinely mindlessly boring, cutscenes are so fucking bad, the castles i visited all aost the same barely any unique loot, you just go through morions to swap them just to to get some better stats, but why would I care about that, give me cool missions and there arent any.

Idk do either of these games really have that interesting quest design? Both games sort of lack the more handcrafted and eventfully paced missions I crave from action and adventure games. It's like a huge buffet of appetizers with no entree.

Me and my wife's son prefer playing Assassin's Creed Shadows because since he is a person of color it brings him joy to play as someone who represents him in a video game. We plan to play all week long while my wife and her boyfriend are on vacation.

This is why I am looking forward to Okami 2. As someone who identities as a dog, we honestly are pretty disadvantaged in terms of video game representation. God forbid you try to bring this up on most forums bc some bigot always has to dog whistle and bring up Nintendogs, which is demeaning and an insult to dogs everywhere.
