I wanted a lot more depth in the stealth in Ghost of Tsushima personally, and there basically was nothing. The whole point of the story is that he's outmatched and has to fight using "dishonorable" techniques. Stealth seems a lot more interesting in Shadows from what I've seen. I don't know about the action combat portion though.

The "true" GoT experience is in lethal mode. The game is designed around that. Reading some comments it looks like many people play it in normal and dismiss it as "casual" or "Ubisosft clone" the same way that people who played TLOU in normal called it "Uncharted with zombies". Both claims are wrong.

It's the max difficulty setting the one that shows how good its combat is.

Not true. That's what the tools and other items are there for. You can use
those resources and don't parry anything if you want, it doesn't make the game harder either, but the combat more nuanced.
you can use the gadgets, but the combat is mainly done around the defense system, I find it boring, there is almost no other way to enter the battle other than parry your way out, but that's my opinion.

I guess you need to try different things and not rely on button mashing to power through.

Haha the poll results 🤣🤦🏼‍♂️. Anyone who has played both can tell you the open world is better in Shadows. More npc's, more weather systems bigger cities etc

dude, i played the game, you dont need to get butt hurt, the main system of the game is parry, thats not an opinion, thats a fact, my opinion is that i found it boring.

there is other system in the game that can be abused ? Yes, but that is for the experienced player, not first timers.

anyone that played video game at least once knows that this doesn't make a game better, its make a game prettier, what makes a game better is gameplay and GoT is way better than Shadows in this metter.

remember, Gameplay ll always be King, that why Ubisoft was lost when ER came out, they cant understand this simple principle.

OP was talking about which had the better open world. Do you think GoT wins there?

it depend on what is a good open world, there is ppl that ll like Ubisoft open world "mess", there is ppl that like a more "calm" open world like in Elden Ring or GoT , i prefer a more "calm" open world, that lets me get immerse and that GoT does better, again, my opnion.

This.

I like both, own both day 1 and Shadow by default has the better open world. Its why you don't see most of the comment section actually providing any detail or actual features to support their point. I get someone might like a game more, but the bias is so wild, most of us who played both games don't really believe some of you lol

real time weather system,
ai that reacts to those season changes with light and sound
ability to alter light sources like candles and enemies react to it (like not being able to see you in the darkness)
ability to go prone at will providing more stealth options and different stealth kills
ability to swim underwater allowing for stealth kills from there too
wider range of use of the grappling hook (Ghost is very limited on where this used, vs Shadows that allows you to use this on majority of buildings to gain verticality)
more destructible objects
more traversal options like boats
the ability to build an entire base

Look..i don't care if someone likes xyz game more then the other, but at the very least we need to establish some facts around this, as its hard to pretend NOT having those features is making a better open world lol

Ghost is not a bad game, but it doesn't have near the level of complexity as Shadows does in terms of its open world. Right now playing Shadows, almost no feature from Ghost would I say I want in the game, but I'd sure love Ghost 2 to have a seasonal system ,ai that can understand light and dark so you can take advantage of it, ai that can hear so you can use rain as a cover etc.

The world matters in those games, how the world interacts with you back, its a massive part of those games and Ghost having that weird, lifeless NPC type robot feeling has a lot to do with the Ai simply not being near as complex as something like Shadows or even MGS or The Last Of Us etc

Let them NPC hear, see light and dark etc and Ghost 2 can be off to a great start, without those elements, its really hard for me to really say Ghost 2 even is coming close to what Shadows is doing.

I say this as someone that loves MGSV, Splinter Cell series, The Last Of Us 2. When stealth is done right, the Ai reacts to you and your efforts on hiding, killing quietly etc are rewarded and the environment can randomly be used to your advantage, its an amazing feeling that not many games can capture, Shadows does that well with that world and ai, Ghost has a lot of catching up to do in this regard.

AC Shadows is next gen title. Have seen only videos but its quite apparent.

Ray Tracing, No pop in, dynamic weather system, far more interactivity, more complex geometry etc.

GOY will be more appropriate comparison in few months.

Just saw AC S being compared to RDR2, there also it came out ahead going by the video. RDR 2 doesn't have the geometry and has noticeable pop in.

Maybe too early to compare but I'm about 40% done with AC Shadows according to that little widget on the PS5 that tracks progress and I platinumed GoT. I think AC Shadows has the better open world. Opinion may change but GoT is the better game overall though. The last few AC games (I skipped Valhalla) have been pretty good about making the world feel lived in and alive. The villages even have an odd sense coziness to them. GoTs open world was beautiful but felt empty in comparison.

My only issue with Shadows' open world is traversal. Often, I find myself lost in the trees, sliding back down a hill that they designed as unclimbable because I just want to get to the objective but the game forces you to take the long way around using the paths.

Oh god damn it, now the guy with a MGS avatar is praising the stealth elements? Guess I have to see for myself and face almost certain disappointment.

Ghost is the better game but Shadows is the better environment. Shadows' environment should probably be judged against Yotei though since they are current gen and coming out the same year.

That's not a typo, it's a grammatical error, and one that is spreading like the plague around the web.

It's the new "could have", the new their/there/they're... and it needs to be cured before it spreads too much!
I saw it to, but I could care less.

EXACTLY. If you've played both games, I genuinely can't believe you think Ghost is the better open world stealth action game. I'd even go as far as to say it's objectively worse. The bias both ITT and in general due to all the online discourse is so blatantly on display.

The intro of GOT worth more than the whole ACS, and in any case, what's the point of comparing a PS4 game with a PS5 game? This is stupid
