Maybe when the others developers stop to pull out more impressive graphic with less demanding resources compared to ubisoft, I suppose.

I'm going by the footage and previews I've seen and I honestly can't think of any game that looks better than Unity, if we take into account the scale of it and the amount of NPCs and stuff going on in the streets of Paris it is even more impressive.

Please don't say Second Son cause I'm drinking coffee and don't want to spill it.

I'll pass final judgement when my PC version unlocks and I've played a fair bit.

Watch Dog it's downgraded too in the same pc. Compared the first trailer.

Compared to the first trailer yes, but not that much. Some fog was missing, some speculars, explosions were smaller. But on the whole it is pretty good still. I love how WD looks during the rain for example (my own video):

It's a damn great looking game. Looks much better than these screenshots. I hope Unity will still be close to trailers on PC at least.

Black flag.

Meh, its not about the graphics, what matters is that the game will be super fun.

I hate these "all that matters is teh gameplay!" comments. Both of those things matter. And when a dev shows us videos and screenshots of a game, leading us to belive that this is what we will play...only for the actual final build to look nothing like what we originally saw, it makes people mad. And even more so when that dev continuously does it.

Ubisoft: "Mordor has next gen system and gameplay, but not graphics like Unity does. The proof comes in that game being cross gen."

Ubisoft sure seems to think it's about graphics. With words like that their game should look amazing. But it doesn't. At all.

...Oh, and this too.

Looks a bit compressed, some images look rather bleh others look great. That lighting is fantastic and the faces look great. Have to see in person and in motion to really get a feel for the graphics.

Bullshit. Take Two could force R* to do the same, but they CHOOSE not to. Ubisoft isn't forced. That said, I also blame the audience that buys all this shit up day one.
That's not really how it works. Rockstar have repeatedly come under pressure from shareholders to release GTAs more frequently, to cash in on the brand more aggressively, but Rockstar insist it would hurt the long term value of the IP. Yves can't tell the board of directors/owners that they can't sell yearly AssCreeds, because they very clearly can.

Moreover, when Rockstar do stray from the GTA path, they're still sometimes showered in riches. RDR sold twelve million, the sequel should do even better, they're also a far smaller company of course. It's much harder to justify the continued expenditure on franchises the market have already shown indifference to.

Ubisoft's customer isn't us, it's the owners, and if they're unhappy, they'll remove the CEO and put in one who'll make changes they feel are required. They do as they're told, and they're told by people who are in it for money, not 'art'.

Haha, what? Tales from your arse.

Actually he might have some reasoning. One of the Post processing effects was incredibly bizarre, it would add next to nothing but kill performance. To be honest I can't even get the game to run stable at mid/low and a 3gb GTX 580. It runs at 60fps.....briefly. Then for no reason it will drop down to 29 and then lock at 30. It can be because I got in a car, looked at water, turned to face east, whatever it feels like.

It has some strange issue I can't fix on my pc and I've never had the issue elsewhere. It also microstutters like a bitch.

I'm pretty sure this is not how it's actually going to look like on most people's PS4s. I think there is an explanation (troll-screens perhaps, I don't know), and suspect this thread is an overreaction in that context.

I thought Ubisoft will release a statement saying there will be a huge day one patch but i guess since they are quite this is the end product.

That isn't console footage. It's marketing footage for PC graphics cards. Of course they're going to make it look as pretty as possible for that.

Lighting and textures should be really identical, hence why I linked this footage.
We need better screenshots from the consoles before screaming downgrade.

To play devil's advocate, when do we start blaming the hardware for the reason these downgrades happen?

There is a reason that it's only Ubisoft getting this shit , no one else is showing ridiculously good looking "game footage" and then denying there has been any change when the retails versions look shit.

EA have been showing off DA:I for weeks - no lies about visuals
Sony were straight with Driveclub and Infamous
Microsoft were honest with Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive.

If Ubi had shown Unity and Watchdogs as they were from the start and been honest and clear about what their B-roll was captured on then these threads would never exist.

There are still people in this very thread posting PC footage and saying it looks great , shit like this shouldn't happen , UBI should be showing off platform specific footage ( Like EA has despite marketing deals) instead of using PC footage and letting ambiguity reign.

The shots and videos now basically tell me the principles of how Ubisoft operate under 1-2year cycles, churn out unoptomised games, their all about the $$$ (Activision + EA for majority of last gen)... If they spent a little longer with their Engine on both consoles, perhaps some more GPGPU to cover the AI cost on the CPU's we would likely get a much better product.

PC for them is easy, brute force good visuals with high end titan's/970's
