Will buy my copy on Tuesday. My Collection of Mana still lies unopened on my desk, but since this doesn't seem to be a super long game, i plan to play it before i start with the Mana trilogy.

Game looks visually confusing, everything is blue and red and enemies don't telegraph their attacks properly. A dangerous combination.

Yea, I dont understand this move. Isn't going to ruin the game but it really stand out. Also the number of times the characters are speaking but their mouth isnt moving is pretty often.

Besides these little details the game is awesome!

Right, especially when Bileth actually speaks a bit, like when you fight and lvl up. Really odd. YS VIII does the same thing, Adol only says a few words during combat.

I have a cheap 40" LED Samsung, maybe it'll fair better for me. Probably the bigger you get with Switch makes games look worse.

Not true. 90% of the time I use the Switch docked and plenty of games looked great on a 55” TV

Too low res for me and I’m completely fine with 1080p. Switch’s 1080p looks terrible! Hand held mode looks great though.

What is the resolution looking like? I don't think that makes me a graphic whore if I just want a clean image I don't really care about the polygons count but low resolution bothers me a lot on my tv. Great artstyle for this game though so that will go a long way

About 900p docked - the art direction is amazing and the textures are pretty decent. It’s the lack of an AA pass that’s a bit annoying.

Bad news for sales. The Target I buy all of my Switch games from didn't even have it on shelves just now. I had to ask someone to check in the back. The employee came back with a cardboard box that they opened with 10 copies of the game inside, looked at the game like they had never heard of it before, and asked me if it came out today.

For comparison, this store had sold completely out of Fire Emblem on launch day, and I bought the last copy of Mario Maker 2 from them on its launch day. This store sells some Switch games, but maybe Astral Chain isn't reaching the mainstream audience.

Astral Chain is like if Platinum made Nier: Automata, but with Jotaro Kujo sans personality as the main character, set in Neon Genesis Evangelion Tokyo-3.

Played for a couple of hours or so. Still in chapter 1 but the cutscenes are amazing. Glad I found the subtitle off option. Game is awesome.

The game is really surprising me. So far I'm liking it more than I thought I would. Also it looks really good on the small screen. I dont play switch on the big screen mostly portable. Also the intro is really fun.

Definitely play on Pt Standard, not one of the lower modes. It's fairly easy even then.

It's amazing how the game instantly goes from a 6/10 to a rock solid 8/10 after unlocking your real Legion powers. I was worried the combat system would be repetitive and button mashy but those upgrades, those new moves, oh baby. Never doubt Platinum.

So far my only gripe is how guns work I would have preferred they had gone with the DMC/Bayonetta way of shooting but oh well everything else is awesome, love the cel shading artstyle.
