OP, I 100 percent agree with you and this is a thing for both Russia and China games.
I genuinely think Black myth would have gotten a high 80s score if somebody like Sony had published it and it was made by Americans.
With Russia, there's a heavy bias especially since the war started and it's primarily done by American reviewers. Yes, they're not fully negative but all of these 'company bad'reports affect the score by 1-2 points, leading to lower sales eventually.
I think this game would have recieved a score somewhere around 82 metacritic or 80-85 rather than 70 if it wasn't made by Russians.
It's also kind of sad how so many games on steam often region block themselves in Russia, forcing Russians to pirate or not play (and that's despite the fact that Russia is third biggest market for Steam). I'm not surprised that piracy is so rampant in that country and why this game still has denuvo.
I really have never understood the whole 'punishing people' for the actions of their government being so normalized for Russia. You can see how many global events Russia is constantly banned from.
It's said that history is written by the victors, I'd say the victors also hold power of the existing culture. If the USSR had won the cold war, it would have been 'greedy' America and their entertainment constantly treated worse globally.
Anyways, a bit of an off-topic rant but there you go.
