Once again, I already said he was a good writer and booker. Just not a genius. SD! at the time had a great lockerroom, and Heyman helped put on a good show. Just because the WWE's usually crappy booking forces us to lower our expectations, doesn't mean I'm going to lower my definition of what a genius is.

Even Jericho gets a win now and again. Kane has been jobbing nonstop for almost a year. That'll kill anyone's threatening ability. The difference is that all Kane has to do is put on a mask, give some creepy promo, sit up, etc. and bam, his threatening ability to the general audience is back.
Kane's main effectiveness now is losing matches. It's why he's in all those main events. A young guy could do it, sure, but it'll likely kill that guy's career. Cesaro has lost a few matches recently, and people are already talking about how he's buried and finished.

Ruckus & Fujita pinned Berk so I thought it must be an elimination match, but then the ref announced both guys as the winner. Weird. The match before it was dull, but entirely botch-free and featured nothing gif worthy. The next match features The SAT, so I'm sure I'll be able to find something.

I find it hard to believe that so many guys are so hard up that they lose their minds at the sight of a hot girl online. I'm so unsure on Raven. He's clearly a talented guy, and whenever there are documentaries people within wrestling seem to raveabout him as a brilliant mind.
I don't know if that's true or if it's just the standard thing people say about broken down, drug-addicted conmen, but very early on (I'm talking, like, Observer Live on eYada), Raven made a great point about how wrestling submissions no longer work because UFC had shown everyone exactly how submissions really work. I always liked that.
Of course, nobody listened to him, and we still see people fighting off the kimuralock for a minute.

This bugs the hell out of me - I love the Fujiwara armbar, because it has a very visible defence whereby the victim clasps their hands together to stop the arm being extended, but for the most part no other submissions really tease the actual application of the move. It's just applied and then either the guy taps, or struggles for an age before making it to the ropes.

You should watch the episode of Hardcore TV where the Malenkos BOTH have a cross arm breaker on Taz for many minutes, probably at least 5. Eventually, Taz shoves them both off, stands up, and starts shoving people around. No issues with his arms whatsoever. After the idea of a Malenko doing any hold is instant death/injury because they are SHOOTERS.
Something like ADR's armbar should never been on for more than 15 seconds when fully applied.

And you know, they could do that with every sub. I don't believe that the struggle to apply the move is any less dramatic than the struggle to resist the pain of the fully locked hold. If anything, it would probably be more dramatic if pro wrestling treated submissions as a tap-or-snap scenario, since the struggle to apply the hold would literally be the struggle to win the match right there.
Watch the Cena/Brock promos, watch the Ambrose and Rollins matches and then maybe watch the end as well.
