August Wrasslin’ |OT| When Russo Shoots, He Shoots To Kill

Ryder has been on Main Event and Superstars last week. Teaming with Sin Cara in Superstars and Tyson Kidd in Main Event. Losing effort both times against Slater Gator though.

You should watch the episode of Hardcore TV where the Malenkos BOTH have a cross arm breaker on Taz for many minutes, probably at least 5. Eventually, Taz shoves them both off, stands up, and starts shoving people around. No issues with his arms whatsoever. After the idea of a Malenko doing any hold is instant death/injury because they are SHOOTERS.

Something like ADR's armbar should never been on for more than 15 seconds when fully applied.

My memory may just be fuzzy but I remember people tapping to Ken Shamrock almost instantly which made my young mind believe that shit hurt like hell.

Submissions being applied for a long time can create a real sense of tension though, especially when the other person sells it well, and if you have no clue who's gonna win the match.

stephanie interview with howard stern said:
Caller Three: Was the real reason Stone Cold left because you used a strap-on on him?
Steph: I don't know what Steve's into, but we didn't use a strap-on on him, on-camera.

Last caller (John again): A buddy of mine, Paul, used to sleep with Steph. He says she loves being tied up and loves anal.
Stern: That's a heavy accusation.
Steph: (jokes) I love anal, can't get enough. I'm open to trying anything. Triple H would like it, too. I probably will at some point. Triple H is actually the first Paul I've ever dated. It was unsuccessful the first time I did bondage, I didn't like it. Maybe some other time.

Stern: I feel she's experimented with anal.
Steph: I'd be willing to.

Same caller: Howard, what's the chance she'd give me anal if I came down?
Steph: I'd have to give him anal with the strap-on I used on Stone Cold.

Steph on sex with Triple H: Triple H bangs me hard when I like it hard. I like a variation. Best sex I've ever had. I've not sex with a woman, but I had a woman come on to me. Last PPV, I almost had HLA. They were starting to kiss me, I kinda liked it. I've been to strip clubs. I'm sure Triple H would love me to bring home another girl. Who knows, I'm just not there yet. Triple H is groomed. I'm totally shaved, I have no hair down there.

ON CAMERA.

Early into Ken's run, that's for sure how it was. Same thing with Taz and the Tazmission. And that was Dean's entire gimmick at the time. He'd apply a hold and it was an instant injury kind of deal. So to have him and Joe both have cross arm breakers on for 5 minutes and Taz stand up completely fine was so weird/hilarious/frustrating.

I find it hard to believe that so many guys are so hard up that they lose their minds at the sight of a hot girl online. I've never understood the guys who have to say the weirdest/grossest shit at the sight of any girl (would drag my dick through glass and eat her farts kind of nonsense). Or the idea that they can't just look at porn whenever. So many dudes get weird just to get weird. GAF is weird about a lot of shit though. Like every title needing to be a pun, and then the first page and a half being people trying to come up with the best puns, no matter how terrible the subject.

The weird thing here is the creepers are almost never shamed.

I can take solace in the notion that (most likely) these manchildren are too chicken to be creepy to women in real life.

(And the pun brigade is awful, too. It's one person after another trying to be the cleverest guy in the room.)

Mark Briscoe, too young to wrestle in most states, old enough to get kicked in the fucking face by Nick Gage;

I'm not sure I've seen a title switch where the losers do quite so little to put the winners over. Hatred sells a bit for the big double-team shoulder tackle, but the finish is a roll-up and Gage does nothing but get his shit in and fucking wreck Mark Briscoe mercilessly. The ex-champs also beat the shit out of them after the match is finished and leave them lying with their newly won belts draped over them.

And you know, they could do that with every sub. I don't believe that the struggle to apply the move is any less dramatic than the struggle to resist the pain of the fully locked hold. If anything, it would probably be more dramatic if pro wrestling treated submissions as a tap-or-snap scenario, since the struggle to apply the hold would literally be the struggle to win the match right there.

I concur, I'd love to see more insta-tap submissions in wrestling, but I feel like too much damage has been done for them to go back - also, you'd need the right commentary team to get it over and clue the fans in on the little details that make that style work.

I will watch the Heyman doc when it get it proper showing....

On Netflix

I walked to Best Buy about an hour ago and they had 1 copy left. But I just couldn't bring myself to buy a DVD anymore. Which is a shame, cause there's a bunch of extras - something Netflix and WWE Network and hell iTunes all really need to include.

Oh man, I had no idea this was the fuckin show with THE Zandig promo (what, are you blind?) and also the unbreakable glass incident that I'm sure's on Botchamania somewhere. The match itself is just fucking ridiculous, constant lighttube shots leaving a cloud of dust hanging over the whole thing, numerous sofuckindumb bumps, a goddamn SWERVE right in the middle, Zandig, Mondo & Wifebeater bleeding a TON. I actually felt a bit queasy seeing a thumbtack-covered lighttube being hit over Wifebeater's already cut-to-ribbons back, fucking disgusting. Mondo sliced deep into his forearm and had to be tied together with tape, while Zandig (who got worked over the most) somehow took it relatively well.

Not a great day for Trent;

Raw Viewership for 8/5

8pm: 4.075
9pm: 4.193
10pm: 3.877

Avg: 4.048

Down compared to last week and down 131,000 compared to last year. It looks like the show needed more Brock and Cena plus Brie at the end isn't working as a closing angle.

Steph vs Brie is a mid card feud, period. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a mid card feud either, just stop trying to polish a turd nobody wants to eat and serving it as the main course on Monday nights. Steph is not Vince, she doesn't automatically generate that level of interest. Vickie Guerrero got more heat than anyone on the roster in the last decade, but she shouldn't be closing Raw either.

Turned on Main Event to see AJ looking like she absorbed Punk's tiredness, Todd Phillips desperately needing some powder on his face, and AJ and Paige shouting out Aiii. And I misses SLATER GATOR?!?!?!

What'd Heath Slater do to get such a push this year?

WWE have liked him as a talent for a long time, his run on the JBL and Cole Show and the loss of 3MB probably got him more attention. He probably should get a midcard title reign some time.

Consistently fun as fuck, goes all in with all the stupid shit asked of him, makes people look good, and is very safe to work with. He's the guy they trusted to work with Bret Hart. And celebrities.

Slater's "push" must be making Cesaro excited about his chances in 2017. Just gotta go through a couple years as a comedy jobber and you're made in the WWE!

Went to best buy and picked up the Paul a Heyman bluray for 20 bux.

Short review I loved it. Paul was an interesting kid who had an interesting background. I didn't know he was involved in the Ultimate Warrior 2K14 commercial. I always liked Paul E but I rather be a Paul Heyman Guy. Anyway pick it up if you see it. I have to say I don't have another wrestling DVD with just promos on it though.

Anyone pick up the Great American Bash DVD/Bluray? I almost did, but having the WWE Network changed my mind.

Oh man, I'm in tears. IT'S THE WALL BROTHER! THE WALL!!!!111

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUJzj4DXHYE

Found this here

Yeah I remember this...when Malenko Benoit Saturn Guerrero jumped after removing Russo, this is what Kevin Sullivan was booking. There was a lot of criticism at the time that Hogan wasn't putting over young talent, and so a program with The Wall was the answer. I think he won by count out or something. Good times lol

Kind of weird that ADR is working face and Swagger is working heel, and I believe no mention of their WM match. It does make sense, being close to the border, though. I wish that was something WWE did more often, where heels and faces switch roles a bit based on what part of the country they are in and who is over where.

Thanks. I really wonder if they'll wrap it up for now or leave all the feuds hanging.

It won't be hanging. The shows should lead up to Bound for Glory that's taking place in Japan. After that the rest is left up in the air. You know something up when Bully Ray is taking dates now. His contract is up in September as well supposedly.

I wouldn't mind that. I like when Bret sorta did it.
