I definitely didn't know he was that good, Breezango looked like legit contenders on SD and I loved it. Everything has a purpose. I mean Slater went from having that issue with Rhyno to Rhyno not wanting to help him to now Rhyno being his tag partner all over a few weeks. That makes so much sense.

Vince's success really has to do with a few things.

Knowing how to use celebrity to draw attention to an event

Working with partners that knew how to make things presentable
  • Dick Ebersol
Hijacking and outspending talent, this will force them to resign and commit to talent and give you an opening to steal talent. Before Starrcade 1 Vince was trying to get Harley Race to double cross to the WWF.

  • ECW
  • HHH has built NXT off of the work ROH, PWG, and NJPW/NOAH did.
Making yourself the sole decision maker. Vince cut out the NWA board as well as people who had ownership claim in the WWF like Gorilla Monsoon and get them out of power.

Understand that the people you hire are not only expendable but exploitable. With the exception of a few select people (Pat Paterson, Gorilla Monsoon, Kevin Dunn) Vince doesn't have loyalty to anyone (even his own family (Shane)). The second he thinks he can't make money on a talent he cuts them without hesitation.

Vince is also more concerned with winning and having a monopoly then he is making wrestling popular and more economically viable. Its why he doesn't let talent use their real name even though they are more likely to get over and make the industry stronger. Its why he prevented Starrcade from markets where Wrestlemania was shown. Even though his most important partners (TV/Cable providers) would have made a ton of fucking money.

Vince's father didn't want him involved with wrestling at all and his actions to kill or at the very least watch every wrestling promotion die made it so Vince sr's friends never visited him in his final days.

Bret Hart is amazing. I wasn't a big fan in my youth, but I've come to love him on my chronological journey. Even Cranky Bret that some of you always yell about is a delight.

From a technical perspective the network is trash

Why can't I make playlists?
Watch and follow feuds or shows by date?
Make and share animated images of clips?
See whats trending?
See whats the most viewed all time or just today?
Have a rating system to see what people enjoyed the most or have a system that like Netflix predicts what you would like to see next?
A tagging system that isn't broken or tries to ignore Benoit?
Has some shows that are only censored and not shown in their original?
Hell they could do creative shit like let people have control of the camera.


Network has been out 3 years and all they have added was a watchlist.

WWE doesn't use the word 'feud' anymore; it's a rivalry. But I do agree with you; the Network should have at least implemented something new.

The 6 month feud brewing between Owen and Bret is one of the best things they've done. Actually you can go further than that since they wrestled, again, at SummerSlam '94.

I use my Xbox One the most because I like the little media remote. It works very well.

Really, it works well on everything I've used -- PS4, PS3, iPhone, Mac at work (how else am I going to watch this crap at such a swift clip? >_>), Amazon Fire Stick TV thing. I'd say the Fire Stick performs slightly below the others, but nothing terrible.

And my home laptop doesn't work well, but that's on my laptop being crappy.
