They must have some 50 year old out of touch designer making the merch or they hired a 16 year old who works at a screen printing stand to do their merch.

This whole time frame had a really fun atmosphere and main event scene. I love that you have at least two feuds worthy of the main event with Undertaker vs Paul Bearer and Hart Foundation vs everybody. Then, on the mid card you have Triple H vs Mankind which has been hot all summer and gang warfare with the Nation vs DOA vs Los Boricuas. They do have some shit that doesn't stick but they're typically good about phasing that out.

I hate their t-shirt design philosophy where they try to find a slogan that someone can wear and make that the highlight of the shirt or a big part of the design.

They even made a commercial like those "find what fits you" ads that highlights this.

I honestly blame The Rock and Stone Cold for it. Their shirts were always simple slogans that were highlighted over anything else. Thing is though, you looked at Austin 3:16 and you knew what it was.

Now they're trying to take that concept and make it a shirt a non-fan would wear. Look at Bayley's "I'M A HUGGER" shirts. Someone looks at those and knows nothing about Bayley they would think that you're a person that likes to hug. Nothing connects it to the wrestler till you turn around and it says Bayley.....and even then, nothing but the NXT tag on the bottom connects it to wrestling.

Same with this Nia Jax shirt. Big slogan up front, her name on the back in small print with no real identifier that you are looking at a wrestling shirt.

That's my gimmick. I go down to the ring and set fire to all the terrible WWE shirts and criticize the members of the audience if they have a bad one on.

Most WWE shirts are fine by me, but the fact they put stuff on the back of it like the wrestlers logo or something is what ruins it.

What I hate is that "PUSH THE T-SHIRT, DAMNIT" has mostly destroyed entrance attire in WWE. I blame Cena for this, mostly, since being a merchandise shill is a huge part of his gimmick

They have let people get away from that though. Certain wrestlers don't wear merch like that as much as they used to.

Actually blame how the WWE structures their deals to where merch sales are a huge part of a wrestler's income now that there are no more PPV paydays.

Build up? Why do I need to convince you that I'm going to defeat some washed up old chap? Zach can't even strap my diapers much less CHALLENGE ME FOR THE TITLE OF THE PRESTIGIOUS NETWORK.

I could easily say just hand it to me right now but I'll take the chance of entertaining you all. The only curve he's going to see is when the uppercut meets his chin and the rest will be history.... For archival purposes.
