So is the CWC really going to happen and WWE will fail to sign both Ibushi and ZSJ?

I wonder if that will effect the booking because that seemed like the logical finale.

You could easily go with
Tozawa vs Kendrick
or
Tozawa vs Swann
as a finale and get just as good of a match. But if you're not doing Ibushi or ZSJR in the finals,
Tozawa has to be on one side because no one else on his half of the bracket matches up
.

Good for Sasha. Kinda surprised, she's really young, isn't she like 23? Well I guess when things are going this well just dive in.
I mean some people get married at 18 but you never know how well a relationship is going unless you're the couple.
This talk of Owen has reminded me that I still haven't plucked up the gumption to watch Over The Edge '99 yet. I've just sort of stalled there, like I've captured Owen in time and he'll stay alive if I never progress forward.
Just listen to The Lapsed Fan episode,it's sad but it gives you more insight on the event and the situation. I'm still spooked about Max Mini.

As seen on Tuesday’s SmackDown Live episode, Eva Marie’s match against Becky Lynch never got started as she appeared to have suffered some sort of injury in her leg after stepping off the ropes. This injury angle was merely just storyline and she isn’t hurt.

Regarding Eva’s status with the company, we were told that the company is still pushing for her to be one of the top female Superstars of the promotion. They believe Eva has the look of what a female Superstar should look like. So, expect her to eventually be the face of the females on the SmackDown brand and be involved in the major storylines.

Man God, come make some sense of this.

Fixed.

Note: I'm just making a Vader allusion -- not actually calling you fat -- as I am not a big, fat jerk like that Matthew Gallant fellow!
Don't be a bully, be a star. I see you typing up that PR response trying to save your ass. You're on thin ice mister mister, keep it up.

I don't believe these dirt sheet rumours at all anymore. They've said that about Eva Marie for years, for example. It's supposedly all about her but on television I've seen very little evidence of it. See 20 years ago when the internet was more scarce and talent/crew/promoters didn't leak insider info every day, dirt sheets were relevant, now they just play guessing games with things they heard from irrelevant people and hedge their comments by saying 'of course that could change' - which it always does. Time for Meltzer to retire or find a new angle. Alvarez too, although he's worse. Bottom feeders who don't even have access to the trash chute anymore, if they ever did.

As far as Eva Marie goes:

I think what Smackdown is actually gonna do is have her win the upcoming Smackdown women's title, without ever really wrestling and being defended by an entourage, while Becky chases her. Eventually Becky takes it from her in a situation where Eva Marie has to take her on one on one. That could be their Mania match, a 3 minute squash where Becky just gets her moves off on Eva.

I think that'll be a fun program. If Eva is capable of cutting promos about how great she is, that's all you really need. Have Nattie and a couple other women always be backing her up and fucking with Becky. Eva has a certain type of heel heat it is hard to manufacture.

I love T-Hawk and Eita and dont like Yamato either.

Maria is an ok exotico. She needs more time and work to truly bring it together

If not for Ibushi/ZSJR finals, I am interested in any of these scenarios (not knowing any of the spoilers) for the finals:

Tozawa / Kendrick
Tozawa / Gargano
Gallagher / Kendrick
Gallagher / Gargano
Metalik / Swann
Metalik / Dorado
Metalik / Gargano

Still want to see more of Perkins, Alexander, Nese, and Gulak before I warm up to them. All did serviceable in their first matches, but the others impressed me more.

Basically means Vince still thinks he can make Female Roman Reigns happen
So in other words, Eva needs to get caught with the goods are we're as good as fucked, eh?

Unfortunately this is too good for "creative" to actually do.

If Eva can be a decent champ, who at least can be good on the mic and getting heat with the audience loathing her, then it could lead to the most glorious pop ever if Becky or someone beats her.

Who would you see winning the whole thing, if not Ibushi or Sabre?

Disregarding spoilers, my fave five alternatives would be:

1. Tozawa
2. Swann
3. Metalik
4. Gargano
5. Kendrick

I just don't see Kendrick winning, but it's a possibility.

As the CWC goes on, it becomes clear that WWE stacked Ibusbis side of the bracket too much. Theres 5 guys on Ibushis side that the crowd would buy winning. On Sabres, its slim pickings beside Metallik.

Id have Sabre lose in the Finals whether he signs or not. Shows that the tourneys not just about signed guys, keeps Sabre happy when he (probably) signs next year after hopefully gaining 30 pounds.

If Eva can be a decent champ,

What? Is Eva Marie the champ now?!

who at least can be good on the mic

Huh???

and getting heat

Mmhmm, mmhmm.

with the audience loathing her, then it could lead to the most glorious pop ever if Becky or someone beats her.

If this darkest timeline were to occur, Eva Marie should beat everyone on RAW or Smackdown or whatever, and then Bayley should of course be the "someone" who dethrones Eva Marie.

But nah, still not worth it.

Indeed. All she's gotta do is get some promo skills, she doesn't have to wrestle. The point of her character should be 'I'm good looking, people are enthralled by me, that's why I deserve to be champ', while Becky should be getting increasingly pissed off and charging at her, getting roadblocked by her lackies, until Becky finally pulls it off to a monster pop leading to a good run as champ with a feud against Asuka or some new NXT call up with good in ring skills.

This stuff really writes itself. I just hope WWE can make it happen. They've had a good track record for the last few months so I hope they continue to surprise us by not disappointing us here.

Honestly I would be fine with champ Eva.

It just sounds like a push as the face and not a champ meaning she isn't gonna be someone used just to fight someone and lose like Summer Rae, which is a bit shaky given it's been reported a million and one times of how Eva is getting a huge push.

As every knows right now, Dolph Ziggler was awarded a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title against Dean Ambrose at the WWE SummerSlam event. For those who are expecting Ziggler to walk away with the Championship won’t be pleased to know that Ziggler is only a transitional opponent for Ambrose, and won’t be winning the Title.

Originally WWE had plans for AJ Styles to be feuding with Ambrose, but the company felt that Styles had unfinished business with John Cena so they decide to go with a blow-off match between the two at SummerSlam before Cena leaves to start filming for American Grit.

It’s expected that after the SummerSlam event, WWE will go back on their original plans and have Ambrose feud with Styles for the WWE Championship.

Shock of all shocks, Ziggler will not be winning at Summerslam. Guess this also confirms Cena won't be working for Backlash. That has to mean AJ will win, right?

I would be okay with a heel Eva Marie title run because

  1. She's a natural heat magnet
  2. If it doesn't work out then we can write her off like most of us want to write of Ziggler
  3. She was drafted to Raw is Sephzilla

There's no real reason to assume they won't.

Everyone who signs is instructed to deny it.

Let's fucking hope so. Makes sense to me.

Hoping Ziggler loses, goes nuts in heel mode post match, beats up Ambrose, moves on to new high mid card program with someone. AJ beats Cena clean, goes on to beat Ambrose clean at some point in their program and turns face again. That's just a little mark head booking though. Ambrose is a good promo but he ain't even in the top 20 best workers on the roster, he's boring to watch in ring.

Yo DM, any wrestling events happening in Vegas? I thought I saw Ron Simmons checking in at a hotel just now. I wanted to yell "Damn" but too many heads.

I guess the Big Guy just wasn't big and buff enough for WWE
