I feel that's an inappropriate reason and thread to celebrate Sunny's carny speak hitting the mainstream.

I'm just fascinated by the etymology of that phrase and had to share it. How did that guy pick up on that? Does he post here? The logical guess is that he lurks but what if he doesn't? Where the heck did he pick that up from?

Is it possible 'Legit Shook' has transcended not just this thread but this forum? The Internet? Real life?

You should remember the Bret vs Bulldog match, as it was one of the best matches of the 90s. And SUPER bloody in a time when there was probably less blood than today's PG world.

that match legit shook (lol) me as a young kid. so much blood O_O

Was anyone else on WrassleGAF crazy enough to get the $150 G1 deal? Or am I on my own for this one?

Anywho, Day 1 predcitions;

2. G1 Climax - Block A: Tomohiro Ishii vs. Lance Archer
3. G1 Climax - Block B: Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Shelton Benjamin
4. G1 Climax - Block A: Katsuyori Shibata vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.
5. G1 Climax - Block B: Tetsuya Naito vs. Yujiro Takahashi

I'm so done with stealth in games. I don't care if it's crappy stealth or 'highly, accurate' stealth.

Shit's boring. and it feels like every game has to try and shoehorn it into parts.

I haven't enjoyed stealth in video games since the first two Splinter Cell's.

Actually, I kinda liked it in Far Cry 3, although there were a few moments of AI madness that made it tiresome in places.

One of the, many, things I hated about AC 3.

like, nah man, you guys gave up being stealth a LONG time ago, you can't suddenly decide it's a requirement again for certain missions with your busted controls.

With the time difference I think I am able to spend my lunchtimes at work for the next fortnight watching at least the final 3 matches of each G1 show live.

My Night 1 Picks.

1. G1 Climax – Block B: Kota Ibushi vs. Toru Yano
2. G1 Climax – Block A: Tomohiro Ishii vs. Lance Archer
3. G1 Climax – Block B: Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Shelton Benjamin
4. G1 Climax – Block A: Katsuyori Shibata vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.
5. G1 Climax – Block B: Tetsuya Naito vs. Yujiro Takahashi
6. G1 Climax – Block B: Yuji Nagata vs. Minoru Suzuki
7. G1 Climax – Block A: Togi Makabe vs. Hirooki Goto
8. G1 Climax – Block B: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Karl Anderson
9. G1 Climax – Block A: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Satoshi Kojima
10. G1 Climax – Block A: Kazuchika Okada vs. Prince Devitt

Think I missed the comic talk but

Batman > All of Marvel >>>>> the rest of DC.

Grant Morrison = Neil Gaiman >>>>>> Everyone else >>>>>> Geoff Johns

I believe, and could be wrong, that the over exaggerated celebration/YES stuff was actually Vince's idea.

I hear Vince also taught Lesnar how to beat people up.

Anyway, really sucks I'm going to miss out on the entire G1 live thanks to their shitty pricing scheme. I'll just wait for the dailymotion/youtube videos to pop up.

I went for the whole G1 Climax package as well, but there is no way I can watch any of it live and expect to finish all the work I have to do this month.

My picks.

1. G1 Climax – Block B: Kota Ibushi over. Toru Yano
2. G1 Climax – Block A: Lance Archer over Tomohiro Ishii
3. G1 Climax – Block B: Shelton Benjamin over Hiroyoshi Tenzan
4. G1 Climax – Block A: Katsuyori Shibata over Davey Boy Smith Jr.
5. G1 Climax – Block B: Tetsuya Naito over Yujiro Takahashi
6. G1 Climax – Block B: Minoru Suzuki over Yuji Nagata
7. G1 Climax – Block A: Hirooki Goto over Togi Makabe
8. G1 Climax – Block B: Karl Anderson over Shinsuke Nakamura
9. G1 Climax – Block A: Hiroshi Tanahashi over. Satoshi Kojima
10. G1 Climax – Block A: Kazuchika Okada and Prince Devitt? I honestly can't pick one. Okada is the safe bet, but this would be a great place for Devitt to get another boost with a strong win.

Surprised she doesn't shave completely. You can see she has a nicely trimmed patch of hair. Pleasant surprise from all the baldies running around nowadays.

Good first half of Day 1 of the G1, results;

Ibushi defeats Yano with a Phoenix Splash
Archer defeats Ishii with the Blackout
Shelton defeats Tenzan with Paydirt
Shibata defeats Davey Boy Smith Jr. with the PK
Yujiro defeats Naito with the Tokyo Pimps

Best matches so far have been Archer vs Ishii, which the crowd was really into (mainly because of Ishii), Shibata vs DBS Jr, which was a great technical match-up, and Yujiro vs Naito, which had a great back and forth. Intermission at the moment, but it's been a great opening to the G1 so far.

Buncha gifs on my minus account;

Wade Barret and Sin Cara are future world champions. It's going to be sad to see Christian job on his last hurrah on his way out. Stupid little kids wont cheer for him, glad they cheer for D Brine though. I never STOPPED believing.

Fuck the Bellas. More AJ pics please.

What a start to the G1. GODDAMN. Updated results;

Ibushi defeats Yano with a Phoenix Splash
Archer defeats Ishii with the Blackout
Shelton defeats Tenzan with Paydirt
Shibata defeats Davey Boy Smith Jr. with the PK
Yujiro defeats Naito with the Tokyo Pimps
Nagata defeats Suzuki with the Exploder of Justice
Makabe defeats Goto with the King Kong Knee Drop
Anderson defeats Nakamura with the Gun Stun
Kojima defeats Tanahashi with a lariat
Devitt defeats Okada with the Bloody Sunday

I'm really amazed at how great most of the matches were, other than a simply average Tenzan vs Benjamin match, everything else was great and everything after the Tenzan/Benjamin match is a must-watch. Fantastic stuff. My favourite was probably Nagata vs Suzuki - it should be no surprise at all by this point, but this match-up kicked all sorts of ass. Shibata vs Davey Boy was excellent as well, as was Makabe vs Goto & Anderson vs Nakamura. Tanahashi vs Kojima started slow, but had an excellent finishing sequence, while Okada vs Devitt was about as good as a match can be
with a lot of shenanigans from the BULLET CLUB
. Naito vs Yujiro was another great encounter between these two, while Ishii vs Archer was a fun match, really helped along by how over Ishii is. The crowd were well behind him and his match with Tanahashi at Korakuen Hall tomorrow should be electric.

All the G1 tweets make me want to watch it as it happens but it's too late. Too late!

rumor has it that Tito Ortiz is the mystry TNA guy. which makes some sense since He is fighting rampage at a bellator ppv in november

That'd be...something.

I feel that's an inappropriate reason and thread to celebrate Sunny's carny speak hitting the mainstream. Also, Sunny, I apologize for telling people you blew a few dudes in that thread.

It's not "Sunny's carny speak"

This is OUR talk. Our contribution to popular lexicon.

Legit shook is real. Start shakin'.

Does the G1 have some sort of scoring system, or are the block winners just determined by simple W-L record?

Win: 2 points
Tie: 1 point each (sometimes only time limit draws are awarded points and no points are given for double ring-outs/disqualification if it fits the booking)
Loss: 0 points

Wolverine wasn't bad bub.

Going back a few pages talking about people getting over hyped and following a movie's production for years, well...not me

I watch the trailer, decide if it's something I want to watch, double check rotten on opening, then I go or not go. I simply don't set expectations. And it usually works out!

I do this for everything, wrasslin' and gaming too.

Works wonders. It's why I don't sour as quickly as all you marks do.

Yeah but it's a mutant movie. Mutants and X-books are consistently the worst things about Marvel so...there ya go.

That's an Undertaker American Bad Ass in game character btw, not a statue or figure. That autograph is likely fake. Also, that is only Disc 1 of The Streak DVD...not the entire set. That's the same thing they did with the Stone Cold DVD....why do they only give you one disc and not the whole thing?

That's an alright special edition as it goes. Won't touch it cause I'm not a fan of Taker but hey.

Also why are people mad at Capcom? Making new games on platforms you don't play doesn't make their previous work useless. I don't get people. SSF4 is still as good after release of Card Fuckers XI playable on Internet Explorer as it was before.

I already got a WWE game Undertaker special edition as I bought the SvR 2011 Lord of Darkness edition. Came with a DVD for Unforgiven 2007 I think.

I've already got a real (authenticated) Undertaker autograph on a Wrestlemania 24 plaque. I got it to commemorate my first Wrestlemania trip. It was awesome to have my favorite wrestler get a rare title win at the end of that weekend.

So basically the next WWE game is advertised on the guys that are barely there? where's my WWE 2K14 Big Red Reliable edition touting the career of a man who has had the most Raw matches in history?

come on Sunny, you should know by now that people get outraged over things both big and small all the time around these parts regarding video games, it's just a thing you'll have to expect, sometimes there is good reason to pick up the pitchforks, most of the time though there's not and i've sure as hell seen enough outrage over the most minuscule shit over the past year.
In this case though I guess BoF fans have reason to grouch it up at least, i'd be pretty irked if this was how one of my favourite series was returning for what's presented as a mainline instalment.

DAMN YOU 2k Sports!!!

Since we have a lot of wrestling fans here. There is more info here.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/08/01/wwe-2k14-gets-a-phenom-enal-undertaker-collectors-edition.aspx

As one of the biggest UT fans alive I have no choice but to buy this edition.

This blurb from GI though gives me a lot of hope for the game this year.

Our Take
We just ran a feature on limited edition game packages, and it already looks like we'll need to start prepping a follow-up. I've played WWE 2K14, and the adjustments to the experience are significant. I'm looking forward to the end of October when this arrives, and I'm very tempted to spend the extra $40 for this version.

If you're a true fan, and ACTUALLY enjoy the series, you'll take the extra effort to play it on whatever platform it exists for.

They literally say the adjustments to the game are significant every year in some fashion, but every year it's the same old shit.

True. But you know even if not hey I've not bought a copy since 2008. So I think 5 years without having bought one I can take the bite anyway. lol

I thought they were mainly complaining about how it barely resembles the rest of the series in a variety of ways (the tablet stuff coming behind that as the secondary complaint) but then again I don't know shit about the series really.

If you guys fall for WWE2K14, you deserve everything WWE does to you. Including Bo.

We'll all fall prey to WWEBO15 special edition.
