August Wrasslin' |OT| starring Bryan Danielson & John Cena in a worked reality show

Game has them for lack of a better term..."LEGIT SHOOK!!"

Props to AJ for her Pipe Mine, Paul Heyman for being Paul Heyman & Welfare because all black people are on it now. And on the subject I'm not a fan of this Primetime Players push at all. Not that they don't deserve it but that whole Darren Young thing playing a huge factor isn't right. RIP Cryme Tyme!

But they put him with people for a reason. There's a good reason to why he's never put on his own. He's not natural enough on the mic to cut a promo, he fumbles through his lines, he's not convincing, he won't get over that way.

When he has someone to talk to in backstage skits he's fine. That's why he was doing much better with Big E and AJ than he is doing without them. It was a huge mistake to break up that team so soon.
For the first part, perhaps, but he hasn't really been given a lot of chances or the ability to grow in that fashion. Bryan nearly corpses in his and he's getting one of the biggest pushes in quite some time. And in some instances, can cut some quality stuff. He was saddled with the Bellas at one point and, like Dolph, wasn't getting him anywhere either. They added nothing to his character, just like none do for Ziggler any longer.

Now if he had somebody like Zeb (racist gimmick aside) or somebody like Heyman, it is better because they're far better speakers - if they in fact wanted to pair him with somebody to speak mostly for promos.

I have yet to see a Bond movie that's more than "mildly entertaining"

Then again, it's not my genre. I also don't like Mission: Impossible or The Bourne Movies for instance.

You two are awful!

And the original Casino Royale! >.<

Top 5 is so tough for me, but some of my favorites Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, For Your Eyes ONly, The Spy Who Loved Me, License to Kill, Goldeneye, Casino Royale and Skyfall

I gotta finish seeing From Russia with Love before it's gone from netflix.

I guess if I had to pick my favorite Bond it would be Timothy Dalton.

Fair enough.

Though really. It's clear though they've dropped their support of Ziggler. I don't really know what's happened, but he clearly pissed someone off backstage to the point where his push is gone.

Concussed with the title brah, would've been fired from Midsouth if he did that.

By the way, does anyone know what happened to Big Show's Iron Clad contract? Was it turned void when he turned babyface? He's supposed to be able to do anything he wants without repercussion, right?

I guess that's why Bryan has done so well. He takes everything in stride.

I know Stone Cold talked about jobbing in his podcast. If you go into the match already acting like your going to lose it doesn't go over well.

You always have to go in acting like you believe you are going to win. No matter what.

I'm sure we can all find examples of folks that did the job with honor and all that and still never made it to the top, but in this case you know.... I really think it helped earn D.Bry some respect.

here comes unpopular opinion time but, goddamn, watching the RAW opening, they turned DB into such a beta, testicleless, crowd pandering, cookie cutter babyface that it makes Cena sound like Jake the Snake when he's out there cutting a promo.

on the opppsite hand, the image of corporate HHH with his attack dogs and his handpicked paper champion was pretty cool.

They had Bryan say the same thing on Smackdown last week, I don't really know why they had him put over Cena.

I guess Vince blew his lid off over the cheer Cena got when he announced he would be out with injury for 4 to 6 months last week.

i was surprised to be honest. dude got no edge to what he says whatsoever.

Even though Total Divas is heavily scripted you can tell he's being himself - a quiet little guy. Which is how he was on Wrestling Road Diaries. He's 4REAL.

I think Ziggler's promos really just kill his character. Hes supposed to be this cocky, confident showoff, but when he talks to the crowd he just looks and sounds like hes panicking. The post-WM crowd is such a crazy exception because just about every other night he can't get anyone to give a shit about him. His 10 elbow drops should be the kind of move that people go to a show to see, but he doesn't seem to get much of a reaction when he does them.

That AJ promo was amazing.

I'm surprised some of you have soured on the Bryan-Trips angle already. Things seem to be going fine to me.

It's been so long since we've had a slow burn angle done right, they don't know what one looks like anymore.

Good movie.
The first two Bond films are unlike the rest in the series so much.
He's more detective than action star.

One of my favorites.
Always laugh when Craig gets credit for bringing a hard-edge to the character, which Dalton did like 20 years earlier!

Concussed with the title brah, would've been fired from Midsouth if he did that.

I feel this is it, he lost all momentum with them during that time. And I guess saw Del Rio wasn't getting over as a face.

Just worked out well. And I guess.. who else would he have feuded with going into SummerSlam?

not sour. not sweet either.

just this type of feud is promo heavy and DB doesn't have exactly a silver tongue, he's like on the verge of corpsing when cutting these long promos.

Given the crowd response Bryan gets, I would say he already IS the top guy.

A few months from now (or even so far as WrestleMania) when he wins the WWE Title back from Orton is where he's going to be set for life though.

The crowd on last weeks RAW was not fully behind Hunter and Orton being heels even though that is what WWE wanted to portray them as. People even cheered last week for Orton

But this week, they succeeded in finally pushing that through, i loved the last segment of the show. Daniel Bryan did really well on the mic in the first segment. Enjoying this feud

Its weird that the face in the main top feud on RAW is being cheered by everyone, with Cena it was always this split thing

People used to pop hard at the New Age Outlaws though

Come on, that's not fair. The crowd back then popped for everything like it was the second coming of Christ.

As far as crowd response go, they haven't been louder for anything since Punk in July 2011. Bryan is getting the loudest responses aside from that in close to 7 to 8 years right now, that's impressive.

Eh, I think he's been doing fine, though I will agree with an earlier poster who said he's at his best when he sounds angrier. But I think faces are always better angry.

Kind of related, I was watching an old Wrestling Challenge episode from 1992 and the crowd was unbelievable. Just unbelievable. SO loud.

I think we might get HHH vs. Bryan at Hell in a Cell.

Too soon! This should be long term bookerings. Mania's my guess if things proceed as they are.

Not that it matters, We're closing in on another NJPW iPPV!

Well, the thing is, there's only so many Bryan vs. Orton matches you can do, so I'm thinking Orton vs. Bryan now, HHH vs. Bryan in a HiaC at HiaC, Corporation vs. Team Bryan at Survivor Series, Bryan vs Orton in a TLC match at TLC. Orton vs. Punk at the Rumble while Bryan wins the Rumble. Then Orton, Bryan, Punk, and three randoms in a EC at EC and finally Orton vs. Bryan for the title at Mania.

So are WWE, TNA and New Japan the big three now? Do I even need to include ROH in the topic next month? They're about to crown a new champion, but does anyone really care?

Its weird to see so many people complain about the stuff that is being built to be long-term. The dumbest shit happening right now is the shortsightedness of RR being with RVD. The pairing only works for one feud. WTF are they going to do with those two when RVD loses to Del Rio? To me, it really shows how unable to adapt Del Rio is. They had to create Swagger's character to give him a foil and now we get this weird mashup. RVD is one of the last guys on the roster that needs help getting a reaction. I guess this is why you don't make plans around Sin Cara or Rey being healthy.

Would you be able to put a note in the OP about the Raw in Toronto on September 9th? I know a few people in this thread are going so it'd be cool to get a GAF meetup before the show. Maybe just add a line getting people going to check-in in the thread and suggest a place to meetup or something.

Yknow it's shocking how little NJPW has to work with. I can't believe they put out the product they do with only around something like 15 million. Unreal.

TNA should be buried in the earth...really.

I don't even think TNA needs to be included, if there ever was a time to be indifferent to TNA, it's now.

WWE is hot, NJPW is hot and that's about it.

Lots of NXT should be included, since it's now FREE on hulu.com. And everyone should be watching NXT.

I agree with the NXT statement. It should be showcased!

I wouldn't mind seeing someone make an NXT topic in OT to get people into it, just in general. Basically - "WWE has a hidden roster" kind of topic.
