It mostly just makes for cheapening the belt because you don't have to do anything to get the title and because they just fake cash-ins constantly.
Also, the Divas storyline is so bad. They all separated into equal sized cliques for no real reason other than making sure each team had the same number of people on it. Like, there's no reason any particular Wrestler took any particular side.

If only they had other plot mechanisms (King of the Ring, Royal Rumble, the IC title) that could designate contenders to the world championship throughout the year.
There was at least a dozen easy ways to bring the NXT women up and refresh the division and somehow they fucked it up.
Absolutely trash.
Or you know, several viable title contenders at the same time.

Getting assigned teams by Stephanie was a bad move, and they're stuck with wrestlers (Brie, Tamina) who can't keep up with the others in the actual matches.
The only reason it's better than ROH's Faction Warfare storyline is that there isn't a name as stupid as the No Remorse Corps, though BAD and PCB are close.
