Ghetto roundup of wrasslin' going-ons in July:

WWE

-Booking has been a lot better lately. sameoldshit.jpg hasn't been posted in months.

-CM punk, much to the delight of the internet, became World Heavyweight Champion, but his credibility as champ has so far been mired by bookers who are afraid to push him all the way. Will he finally get a clean pin at SummerSlam, or will Vince take a diarrhea shit in his mouth?

-Mike Adamle is Raw GM. Who wudda thunk it?

-Chris Jericho is pissed in an awesome way. Will he finally break out of midcard hell, or will he be jobbing to Ted DiBiase in a month?

-Smackdown. I don't watch it, but apparently the Undertaker is back and stuff. Also, Freddie Prince Jr. is now a writer for for Smackdown.

-Also, WWE hired Norman Smiley to train doods in Florida. We can only hope that one day the big wiggle will grace our screens once again.

TNA

I don't give a fuck about TNA, and I'm sure the backstage drama is more interesting than their product, from what I've heard. Kevin Nash walked out of an Impact taping because of a booking diageement, and Tomko has fled the coop to wrassle in Japan.

TNA is awesome, they are suprisingly good with stolrylines in the last few months, and matches are always good. To bad World X Cup is over :(

This week main event was Knuckles match, and thats a good news :D Next week they announced 8 man tag team no disqualification match 3D+Beer Money VS LAX+Christian+Rhyno

What the hell is this intro? Everyone's coming out!!

EDIT: So Punk, you're saying Shad Gaspard and JTG can be World Champs in the future? :lol :lol

this thread reminded me that bjork started the last few monthly wrasslin' threads

He'll be back.

I lol'd when I saw that Mickie James roast beef picture. Reminded of a guy who went crazy in here one time talking about sloppy joes and Mickie.

Guess he wasn't enjoying his new role as much as he let on.
Well I remember that some of Ric Flair's appearances lately have been canceled by the WWE at the last minute (NWA Convention, for starter's). With the way Flair's financial problems have been publicized, he'd be crazy to turn down guaranteed money from the WWE just because of a few nixed appearances.

I just have a feeling that there's more to this story than meets the eye......

Yeah, he'll be back. My thought is that he has the itch to get in the ring and WWE doesn't want him to. Someone who is used to performing for their paycheck probably has a hard time getting paid well to do nothing.

Will Dixie Carter open up the check book and have Sting vs Flair again????

Shed be a fool not to.

Wouldn't that just be the best example of why TNA is where it is?

It's a HUGE money match. Regardless of age, both of those guys are magic in the ring together.

TNA's biggest problem is BOOKING... or lack of sensible booking. The talent is there, the timeslot is there, the fan base is there and slowly building and they're touring.

But without logical booking and a reason for people to tune in to see what's going on, they're treading water and the 2nd largest show on their network.

TNA's crap, but better off without Nash.

Angle vs. Styles? Sounds good. Last Man Standing? WTF!?
The last man standing actually makes sense, they've been building this feud for a LONG time. This is AJ's next step to get over the goofy "Prince AJ" character and back to the high flying badass that got him so many fans to begin with.

Is it anymore?

Don't get me wrong, I think it would be great to see - but I'm not going to buy a PPV for it.

But would they be crazy to give it away on free TV - or would they have to so they could draw attention to the product?

Yes, it'd still be a big money match, ESPECIALLY down south.
The names of Flair and Sting still hold a HUGE fanbase. You publicize that "FOR ONE LAST TIME, STING FACES RIC FLAIR" and watch the buys pour in, regardless of the company.

The last time they faced each other was 7 years ago on the final Nitro and they just have this chemistry together that's awesome. Even at 48, Sting can still go, Flair has glimmers of greatness still left in him.

Hell, for all that matters you could piggy back on Flairs name and have him replace Cornette as the "Director of Authority" for TNA. Let Jimmy go back to booking and get things in order.

Do I think he'll end up at TNA in some form? Absolutely. They'd be stupid if they DIDN'T go for him. There's certain names that are "legend" in the business, Flair's one of those VERY few.

I guess I agree with what you said earlier - TNA's booking is just so awful, I'd expect them to fuck up a Sting/Flair anything.

It's not like WWE's is any better... they just get cut a lot of slack BECAUSE they are WWE.

Come on, let's be far.... they have a champ that's working midcard. MIKE ADAMLE as GM?!? HHH holding the entire Smackdown roster down and fueding with turds like Khali....

The best thing on all of WWE is Jericho.

which is hilarious given the response in these threads right after his return. not that I disagree now. WWE finally has a decent pool of talent on the shows AND is off cena's dick as full-time champion at least. if they booked the shit right.. well... it won't hit attitude level era of awesomeness, but it would still probably be the best the company has been since then. hell, even the writing is up.. it's just awful matches. both uninteresting bookings and booking talent wrongly against each other. They need to make shit interesting and book lesser talent against better talent who can put them over. It may not be two (or more) major stars in every match, but if the writing is there we never cared before.

She needs to fire Russo, Mantell, and Jarret. Only then can open her check book... to hire Gabe from ROH. Or hell, even Paul Heyman. TNA could have the greatest athletes in the mark, but if they are booked like Samoa Joe week in and week out screaming at my fucking television, then they aren't going to get anywhere.

Adamle, don't look at the camera during the backstage segments.

EDIT: What the hell is up with the music in this Cena vignette?

I don't like how they're leaning Adamle towards being a face. He'd serve much better as the clueless heel who doesn't know why everyone hates him.

I was wondering the same thing. :lol

Even though this feud will make no money, I would LOVE to see Noble/Regal go 10 minutes on TV. If they were on Smackdown, it could happen. Shit.

Looks like either someone got their luggage lost or his new tights werent done in time like Shawn Michaels a few years ago...

Hey look...it's YOUR midcard champ!
