I'm going to wait for reviews of the game to come out first.

Chris Harris just got released for them the WWE. I hope TNA stays the hell away from him. There are definitely probelsm we don't know about going on with him. The sudden weight gain and devolving wrestling skills just sounds like someone with depression and/or other problems.

I'm most certainly going to be picking it up since I've been dying for an alternative to the Smackdown vs. Raw series.

I don't think I'll have the free time to participate in a GAF league though. :(

Damn that was REAL quick...

"World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of ECW Superstar Braden Walker as of August 7, 2008. WWE wishes Braden the best in all future endeavors.

'Braden Walker' is formally known as Chris Harris from TNA. He teamed with James Storm as the America's Most Wanted tag-team in TNA.

Harris announced on his official website that he had signed a contract with WWE on January 29, 2008. Harris was pinned by Shelton Benjamin in his WWE debut on March 11, 2008 in a dark match and made his television debut on the July 8, 2008 episode of ECW under the name Braden Walker, defeating Armando Estrada. Walker was released from his contract by WWE, after having only one more televised match.

I'm in on day one. So I'm DEFINETLY in.
I'm calling it now though, I get AJ.

EDIT: Watching Impact... SWEET JESUS at the gusher Kurt had on his head. Gross. a HUGE puddle of blood.

- Mick Foley has as good as revealed he is parting company with WWE later this month. In an interview with the Long Island Press, Foley said: “I can’t say much until after my contract expires, which is September 1st. But at this point, there is a good chance, through mutual agreement, that I will not be renewing the contract.”

There has been talk over the past couple of weeks that Foley is unhappy with the way he is being produced by Vince McMahon, which has been a recurring theme when it comes to announcers. The would appear to be the main reason behind Foley’s decision to leave, as he added: “Creatively, the announcing job wasn’t working out too well.”

It wouldn't surprise me if Foley got a call from TNA. I remember back in '05 that Foley was all set to sign a contract w/ TNA, and then Vince called Foley at the last minute and gave a him a ton of money to remain with the WWE.

I would rather see Mick just stay retired.

Mick won't. He's got the "sickness". He loves the business, he just doesn't like Vince's shenanigans.

I think he has a pretty good relationship with Russo, so he may end up in TNA in some capactiy.(and apparently he has a good relationship with TNA due to just about signing a contract with them) Mick is quite intelligent and one of the best promo guys to even pick up the stick, so there's a demand for him.

We'll see in September I guess. He could be a huge surprise for Bound For Glory. They can't get Flair due to 90 day clause, but if a contract expires, no such clause

WWE RELEASES FIVE TALENTS
by Mike Johnson @ 2008-08-08 16:18:08

PWInsider.com can confirm World Wrestling Entertainment has released the following talents today:

James Curtis, who was seen most recently on this past Tuesday's episode of ECW on Sci Fi against Braden Walker (who was also dropped yesterday), has also wrestled under the name KC James. His release would free him to revive his memorable Ohio Valley Wrestling tag team with "brother" Cassidy James/Riley on the independent circuit.

Domino, of the Deuce and Domino tag team, had not been utilized on the Smackdown brand since the team had split and Deuce was drafted to the Raw side for a planned makeover. He had been with the company since January 2006 when the team was put together with Cherry in Ohio Valley Wrestling and brought up to the main roster in January 2007 before having a WWE Tag Team title run.

Shannon Moore, who had most recently worked the ECW and Smackdown brands as part of a tag team with Jimmy Wang Yang, has been released by WWE. Moore returned to the company in 2006 following a brief run with TNA Wrestling.

Nunzio (aka Little Guido) was on the ECW roster, but rarely used outside of enhancement roles in recent months. He had been with WWE since 2002 as a member of different version of the Full-Blooded Italians tag team. Most recently, he had popped up during holiday-themed episodes in various costumes.

Referee Nick Patrick, on the Smackdown side, had not been used in months after undergoing back surgery.

There may be additional names as well.

ANOTHER NAME RELEASED
by Mike Johnson @ 2008-08-08 16:38:44

Add former WWF King of the Ring Big Daddy V, who hasn't been seen since March (but was recently drafted to Smackdown) to the list of those released by WWE today. V, most recently used in a main event position on the ECW brand, had been out of the ring with a bad case of pneumonia, which led to WWE asking him to drop some weight prior to his return.

I'll miss seeing Big Daddy V come out to his awesome entrance music. :(

I just saw this weeks TNA Impact. It was OK, Angle got busted & lost a LOT of blood.

How does a freaking mouthbreather like you get an advanced copy of something that you dont pay attention because Cena isn't on it?

DAMN at the release list... just wow. MAJOR shakeups coming soon. I'd look for a few more names to be tossed in there. Ricky Ortiz and Carlito anyone?

Raven (a/k/a Scott Levy) is among a group of former WWE wrestlers who have filed a lawsuit against the company over being classified as independent contractors. "On July 24, 2008, we were served with a summons from three of our former talent purporting to be on behalf of themselves and a class of similarly situated persons," reads an item in WWE's shareholder report. The lawsuit alleges breach of contract and unjust enrichment arising from our treating them as independent contractors rather than employees, which the plaintiffs allege is an erroneous classification.

"We have not formally responded to the suit but intend to deny any liability for claims asserted against us and to defend vigorously against the suit." To read the full quarterly dividend disclosure, click here. [Thanks to WrestlingHerald.com and F4Wonline.com.

Raven was always one of my favorites. I was holding out hope that he'd be in WWE again some day :(

Ken Kennedy updated his official website with the status of his torn labrum injury. He dislocated his right shoulder during his match with Shelton Benjamin at a recent house show in Georgia. If he doesn't have surgery, it will be 2-4 four weeks before he returns. If he has surgery, he'll be out for 4-6 months.
:\

Cerrius, barring any horrible reviews or bad gameplay impressions, I'll be picking up iMPACT at launch as well. So I'll be interested in your league.

Hope everything works out with Kennedy. But some times I wonder if he shouldn't look elsewhere. WWE always dicks him around when it comes to pushes. The guy's a legitimate contendor, but they refuse to use him.

Well, they tried soooo many times... Seriously, and it's a real fan speaking, if i were Vince McMahon right now, i would begin to be real pissed off and discouraged about him...

that's not even his fault, but the guy is just doomed at a level never achieved before !

Without speaking about the well known missed push of last months, just look at his last feuds.

Regal > stoped by regal's suspension
Burchill > stoped by the draft
MVP > Stoped by the need of a Jeff hardy feud for MVP, ot other things, we don't know... it lasted one week
Umaga > never finished. Where is Umaga by the way ?
Benjamin > Kennedy injured.

It just has been a total clusterfuck...

That being said, the 'E has him in a 10 million dollars movie right away... They would have difficulties to fire him right now.

So who else is in for the PPV. Looks to be a pretty solid card top to bottom except for the Lethal and Sonjay match.

I think it's time for Lethal to consider dropping the homage.

Joe, PLEASE stop yelling at my TV. You're scaring my kid, and me a little.

Joe does some of the worst promo's in TNA right now, which is the exact opposite of what he did when he was in ROH...

remembers when Samoa Joe and CM Punk went to a Time Limit Draw after 60 minutes*

Good times!

I have the Best of Samoa Joe DVD from ROH. Takes me abck to a better time...
MUCH different take on promos.

What gets me is that they have one of the BEST promo guys EVER in Cornette. Why isnt he instructing these kids?

I'd just like to see TNA creative go without a month without interferences. But these fuckers couldn't even out write a middle schooler, so their cop out is always interferences.

AJPW insisted on no interferences, made the matches mean so much more.
